Good Vibe, Good Food, Great location. Perfect spot for dinner date.
amazing, as always.
Great experience for restaurant week. Good sized portions, great waitress and amazing music. Perfect night!
Staff was accommodating and available when needed. Manager was very welcoming and went above and beyond for our celebration! Food was phenomenal!! Definitely will be coming back.
I love this place. The crab cakes and salmon are outstanding. Love the turkey burger as well! The staff is great.
Great service. Great location. Great decor. Most importantly great food.
The service was excellent. The food (burger & sweet potato fries) were excellent, but I found the curry ketchup a really unique and flavorful surprise. Wish they sold it in a bottle.
We had a reservation at 6 pm for 6 people on 7/31. The place had a great feel to it and we greeted politely and seated right away which was great. However from there things went down hill. The service was some of the worse I have ever had. I worked in the industry for 10 years when I write this as well. The server, although polite, was not very well trained or efficient at there job, especially with the place not very busy. We ordered a round of drinks and then after about 10 min, he came by asking for a food order. At that time our party had some fairly simple questions. One of which was asking how the Salmon was prepared an if it had the skin on it. The response was no it does not and we even explained that if does can they just remove it and have it on it and this is was must for the meal to be of preference. Again the waiter confirmed it does not and he would ask the kitchen to remove it was. Which was acceptable. 20 minutes later we still did not have our drinks. We had to flag the waiter down and ask where they were. He then rushed making them and delivered the wrong drinks to all the wrong people. 3 of the meals cam out 5 min later. Then another 3 meals 10 min later with all the wrong sides and the Salmon of course had the skin on it. Although the meal was removed from our bill, at no point were we offered an apology or did the manager come over to discuss the situation as we watched half the staff stand around. The food was bland at best from the burger, to the chicken schnitzel, the lobster rolls. It was a really disappointing experience as the place has potential being in the Seaport and with a great ambience. I would recommend retraining your staff and possibly having a manager who cares about customer experiance.
Went to the Tuck room for restaurant week. They are listed for having lunch and dinner on Sundays but when we got there the hostess stated that they dont honor it on weekends. Was very upset that they didn’t honor it even after showing them what was listed.
We had concert tickets at Pier 17 across the street and Tuck Room was perfect for pre-show drinks and food. Excellent in every way - cool vibe, really great drinks, food was delish.
I spent my 41st Birthday At the The Tuck Room and it was one of the best establishments I’ve been to in a long while. It was easy to get a table and the staff and environment was top notch. I don’t love in the city anymore but when I do visit this will be my go to place to catch up with the ladies
Tuck Room used to be my favorite restaurant. This time around, it was beyond disappointing. Service was subpar. Our waitress dropped the entire rack of ribs... The food was so disappointing. Had the dinner menu which included an app, entree, and dessert. Such a waste of money. The food was so mediocre. Barely even flavored, not tasty. Not what you expect from a restaurant in South Street / the financial district. Definitely not like how the restaurant used to be. Staff were unpolished, barely even apologetic about the food being dropped, and didn't offer anything to even try to make up for it. Overall, such a massive disappointment.
It’s a cool spot. Has happy hour from 5-7. Drinks ok, food ok.
Went for restaurant week. The tuna over crispy rice was the highlight of the meal. I had the chicken schnitzel which was pretty good. Could have used a bit more seasoning though.
As soon as you walk up the last flight of stairs/escalators to get to The Tuck Room, you're ooh-ing and ahh-ing. The bookshelves lining the walls create a cozy, study-like feel to the place, while the modern artwork, lights, and music contrast it nicely. The food was nothing short of fantastic; in fact, it was quite taller than fantastic by about two inches. We ordered the Ahi tuna poke, the tuna lettuce wraps, the peach and beet salad, and last (but most definitely not least) the cornbread. All in all, our eyes and mouths had the times of their lives while they were there and keep asking our legs to walk them back.
Sunday lunch was fabulous. Great food wonderful server. The ambiance is fantastic.
Our server in particular was nice. But operationally, the restaurant needs help. The hostesses were very unfriendly with “attitudes.” We arrived and hour early for our reservation and were offered a table to a 1/2 empty place at 9:10. We ended up just sitting at the bar. The food took 45 min.
We had an awful experience. Having eaten here before we made a reservation requesting a window seat in order to watch the fireworks. We arrived early and there were plenty of tables open. At 8 pm when it was our turn to sit there were still window tables open and we were seated in the back room. No window view at all. We requested to speak with the manager and he gave us one lame excuse after another about many requests for the window seats. Even after pointing out to him that while I understood that , we were ready to eat, it was our time to eat and there was a window table open and so the table should be ours he still made us sit in the back room. Not even at another table where window views were possible. I specifically chose this restaurant for its proximity to the fireworks so our entire evening was a bust. There was also a woman camped out in the ladies room with two kids running all over the place and the staff was unaware of that situation. Our food was just ok. There are better places in the area to eat for sure. Very disappointed. Don’t bother requesting anything special because you most likely won’t get it. Also, the club type music was so loud you could barely holed a conversation at your table.
Our waitress was great and I wish I had remembered her name so I could acknowledge her. She provided excellent service. A couple examples include when our drinks came and were too sweet so she had them remade. She even had the music turned down when the DJ started playing and we weren’t able to hear each other in conversation.
Conveniently located near the subway ...for those that do not drive. Parking is very difficult to find. This location is perfect for the first date, and celebrate a year later. We dined at The Tuck Room, followed by a lovely movie at Ipic.
The experience was not worth the trouble to get there.
It took us 40 minutes to get food and it was a Tuesday afternoon. The bread on our burger was stale. the Calamari did not taste fresh. The pizza was mostly bread. We didn't get the side that we requested after an hour. The only positive is that it is a beautiful restaurant and the drinks were good.
The good is not great
Our server was attentive, helpful and our food tasted amazing.
Please call at 2016791894. We’ve been trying to call with no answer or call back.
Ambiance was nice. We liked the decor. Service was relaxed. The charcuterie board appetizer was good with a plentiful variety of meats and cheeses. The lobster Cobb salad was very good, generous portion. The oysters were absolutely tasteless, and there were bits of shell and sand in with them. Even at $3 a pop, we ended up leaving half of them. No comment from our server about that.
Absolutely delicious and original food. Service was excellent. We got the corner table with a beautiful view. Their infusions are a must try!
Really lovely place. The service was great and the happy hour prices are great value too.
Amazing food, incredible ambiance!! Wait staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our second team dinner and again it did not disappoint!!!
The food was horrible to say the least, we ordered the pork belly appetizer, after rave reviews by our server. It was over cooked and extremely salty. As someone with high blood pressure i found this item very offensive. We sent this back to the kitchen and ordered calamari instead. The calamari was cold, dry and not at all what we expected. Then the most disappointing part of the meal was the entree, i ordered the spare ribs. They were extremely cold, and the sauce was not cooked on top. It is like someone forgot to put sauce on then at the last minute placed it on and sent it out to the table. Was completely inedible. I never write reviews however we planned this date night a month in advance and was really looking forward to our night out without our kids. All we got was complete disappointment. The only highlight was our wonderful server, we felt bad complaining to her, because we k ow it was not her fault. We are never coming back to this restaurant, we are happy to eat elsewhere ahead of a movie.
We had a fantastic time in the VIP room!!! Food was amazing, service was amazing!!
Cool atmosphere, great food if you’re not looking for entrees. Best for appetizers and drinks. Great for hanging out.
This was definitely a cool place to visit. The decor was different and inviting. The staff was friendly. I can't say I loved the food, it was just OK. For the price the portions not impress me.
We ordered the Avocado, calamari, ruben bites to start. The shrimp/ beet salad and the pepper steak for our meal.
The cocktails were delicious and we sampled a variety of those.
I put I would not recommend only because the was no maybe choice. I think I would go back and give it a second try though to see if I just had an off night.
The Tuck room is a nice location if you don't mind spending money on seriously overpriced drinks and very mediocre food. A group of us went to the Tuck room for a girls get together for a friend that is getting married. The best thing was the fries which was not very hot but delicious. The Avocado had this white cream ooze out of it when sliced and it was not delicious or even good and you end up getting avocado skin in your mouth. The Schnitzel chicken was BLAND. The Duck had too much sauce and tasted funny and too much rolls with that order. Its basically a sandwich you put together for $28. One of the girls had the ribs and she said it was good. The cornbread was amazing but I felt like I was eating cake. The Lobster salad was good. The steamed clams had to much breading and then was served with slices of toasted bread. The American dishes with a flair is a total MISS!!! Shots are $16-$19 for a SHOT...RIDICULOUS. Our bill for 6 people was $700 plus the $115 tip. Did I mention the overpriced drinks, Yesss that Is ridiculous too. This place is definitely not worth the "HYPE". Overall we though the food was horrible, drinks are too expensive but our server was GREAT!
The chef must have a real sweet tooth. The market salad was nice and fresh, but loaded with so much fruit it tasted like dessert. My steak was medium well, not rare as I had asked, and was coated in a very sweet sauce that ruined the meat. Even my Paloma cocktail was too sweet. The only redeeming thing on my table was the onion ring, which was nice. Our server was kind, but the restaurant seems to be going for a tourist-club vibe. Not worth the 100 Open Table points at all.
The service was great, but that was only because the waitress had no other tables. We were the only people in there. The drinks were ok. The food was awful. Would not recommend.
Overpriced, food was not good. Ambiance was great. Nice setting to pass time over a drink, not food.
If you are going to see a movie at the iPic theater then you have to head to the Tuck Room upstairs. either before your movie for dinner or lunch or some post-film cocktails to discuss what you just watched with friends. Though the menu isn't big the food on offer is always excellent . They have a large wine list and fun cocktails to choose from. The decor is cool and very artistic and there is a view of the seaport and Manhattan bridge if you can score a window table, though I prefer to sit at the bar. I have been coming here for two years now before and after I take in a movie and I will continue to do so.
The Tuck Room was really an enjoyable and comfortable atmosphere. Our dinner was delectable, the music was a great mixture and service was impeccable. We can not wait to return!
Loved the food, loved the service and loved its connection with the iPic movie theater. The food was very good and the price was reasonable for such a fancy restaurant. Definitely will visit more times. My family love it as well.
