The lovely staff had their work cut out to maintain service levels and Covid security. There were only 3 on duty but they did their absolute best.
Our initial food and drink order was taken swiftly. The food was good and they were accommodating of dietary needs.
Great food, great service, and plenty of outside seating.
Nice big garden. Nice food and great beer. Service was exceptional and friendly
We all had the Sunday roast and it was too quality
We both had roasts both very nice , wish you had cauliflower cheese
Warm welcome from Ben as always and excellent service throughout despite being very busy. Great atmosphere. Good menu and selection of wine and beer. An old favourite.
Needed lunch for four at short notice and The Unthank Arms was recommended by friend. Easy to book, friendly greeting, lovely garden seating area and great choice of food and drink. Perfect!
Lovely to return to the Unthank. A favourite over many years nee decades! The ambience is as always conducive to chatting and drinking/eating. Excellent service and great food. This is an anytime pub drinking lunch dinner supper snacking special occasions or just socialising. We will be back.
Haven’t been for ages but absolutely lovely food as always and staff super friendly, thank you :o)
Tasty Food and Lovely Awesome Desserts! Great Ambience Too!
We all decided to go for the roast and it was gorgeous and so much too. Good service and great food what more do you want.
Lovely, fresh food in a nice environment. Service was fine. Food slightly on the pricey side but good (although limited) wine menu with reasonably priced options.
Saturday night was far too busy with not enough staff. Quality of the food didn't live up to price and very limited meat options.
Waitress did put two of the main course orders through so obviously didn’t turn up with the others. To be fair they did knock some drinks off the bill. Food was average, not as good as when I have been previously
Very busy night but plenty of staff on. Food was excellent
My food was not cooked by the chef as ordered, either the 1st time or the 2nd time.
However your Manager was absolutely superb how he handled the situation, the venue is lucky to have him. He was also smiley and helpful from the moment we walked in.
Because of your manager I am only to happy to come back , not to say the same for your chef though. He needs to read the orders thoroughly prior to sending them out.
The service and ambiance was excellent. The vegan gumbo was nice but lacked a little oomph. The sea bass was really very good. Overall another very good experience at the Unthank and would definitely recommend and go again.
Good atmosphere, efficient service taking into consideration they are busy collecting and running orders on what was a busy evening.
The wait was sometimes a tiny bit frustrating but they are under pressure.
Beer choice was good, food was good and I’ll definitely return
Lovely pub, great staff. Has the burger which was delicious but £14.50 seemed a bit pricey.
Loved this pub/restaurant and will definitely be making a revisit. My other half didn’t enjoy the long walk (from the other side of Norwich) but was most pleased when his food arrived, we then really enjoyed (what seemed like) the short walk back to the city centre ! The bar was very busy when we arrived but we were attended to v.quickly and shown to our table upstairs. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Everything about the place was just .......well great.
Great service, good food.
This was a fantastic lunch experience and I cannot thank the staff more.
Courteous, welcoming and a satisfactory day in its social entirety.
Many thanks all, TR.
As always good food, lovely staff and nice ambience
Delicious roast pork!! Very friendly staff - will be back ASAP.
A brilliant pub that never fails to provide great food and drink in a very pleasant environment and always with a good friendly atmosphere.
Even though they were really busy on my last visit (23rd May 2021), the service was excellent as always, providing just the right amount of attentiveness without feeling like someone is always buzzing around you and we didn't have to wait for ages for anything or feel like we were being ignored. The perfect balance of service and the roast dinner we had was utterly delicious.
Really nice old school pub. Bar staff were very attentive. My burger was big, juicy and delicious and my missus veggie burger looked great too. Would highly recommend visiting this fine establishment.
Lovely food and a lovely atmosphere.
Great food and awesome service - thanks :-)
Good to be back!
Polite, attentive staff. Excellent fresh food. Good atmosphere.
Excellent food and brilliant service. Their gluten free options are very good.
Service good but food delivery was a little slow.
We had a lovely evening in the Unthank Arms, it is one of our favourite places to eat out locally. The staff were pleasant and the food was very good. We felt very (covid) safe and well looked after.
We visited on a weekday lunchtime and for our first indoor dining experience since COVID restrictions began in March 2020 it was was fine. It was a place we were familiar with, booking was straightforward, staff were expecting us, they were attentive and the food was good. We were surprised, though, to be seated right next to a table of four other people when apart from them, myself and my husband there were no other people in the bar.
Very nice food, a bit over priced, I had the salmon it came with half of sweet potato for £16.00 thought it was a bit over priced for portion size
Had a fantastic Sunday Roast. Food was gorgeous with a nice pint of Morretti Very good service too.
The sun even shone. Highly recommend.
Delicious meal - excellent Sunday roast and dessert. Good service and good value. They had the outside eating well organised with heaters and cover. Very covid conscious. First meal out this year, and would definitely revisit The Unthank Arms.
Lovely undercover dining area - dry and warm, also smokers free.
We had 4 different meals from the menu and they were all delicious and well presented. Very organised changing of tables for customer bookings and tables/seats observed cleaning down after each visit.
Very good adaptation to the current rather miserable rules - ahead of a further opening-up in the next few days. The Unthank has always been ahead of the game, and always cheerful, as on this occasion.
Fantastic food, very impressed. Couldn’t fault it! Will be visiting again very soon!
Requested additional time for our meal on the time-slot booking which was ignored. Requested again on arrival. Waiting staff were pleasant but asked us to leave after exactly 2 1/2 hrs.
Whilst I understand venues want throughput no effort was made by management to accommodate our request.
And, food was overpriced.
