The Victoria Inn
Food is served all day everyday & we are a local hot spot for delicious, traditional Sunday lunch. Our home cooked food menu offers a plethora of fresh, home cooked choices and childrens portions are available. Our extensive drinks list features many branded, craft and boutique products from the local area and further afield.
Nice friendly welcome. The roast potatoes were a bit hard but otherwise the food was good. The rhubarb and ginger trifle is amazing!
Tasty roast, bit of a wait. Friendly staff throughout
Staff seem to have changed completely - we are regulars and didn’t recognise besides one of the chef’s. Rude service, directed to three different tables before ultimately leaving due to fruit flies dominating the corner area we were allocated. Will go back for a beer only.
Nice people, decent roast, very good beef and lots of it. Two roast potatoes on a Sunday roast is a but stingy.
Lovely Beef Wellington, good atmosphere, friendly service and not too noisy!
Dined on Mothering Sunday for a Roast Dinner and have to say the quality of the food was very good despite it being super busy and later on in the day! Staff were on great form too.
A beautiful, classic pub with a combination of young and old drinkers and diners, an enthusiastic staff and beautiful rooms upstairs.
Great roast lunch could have been a bit hotter but vey delicious
Lovely local gem. Really nice friendly staff, quick service, interesting wines, GREAT chips!
Some dishes where good, but the pie was inedible
Really good sunday lunch - very generous portion sizes. Good beer selection as well...
Food delicious best roast in Peckham.. staff super friendly! Highly recommended
It's a pity that one cannot rely on the food being the same as on a previous occasion, depending on which chef is on duty. In Dec I had a fantastic meal there choosing the pork belly roast which was a lovely cut of pork belly with crackling. Then in Jan I again chose the pork belly but this time it was a rolled joint and not nearly as good. This time I played safe and chose the chicken roast which was very good. However, one of my group chose the pork belly and it was still the rolled joint. I am glad I changed! The service was very good.
Fantastic choice of Sunday roast. Been here a few times now & I can highly recommend it. Good atmosphere, staff are very polite and attentive. Early days but, looking to book for Christmas day!
The food was lovely, even if a little on the large side. We had great service to start with but had a shift change and we weren’t followed up.
Once we got our bill, it was wrong and had drinks missed off, we were told they should have been paid fir at the bar but when we arrived the barman/waiter said he’d bring drinks over so expected them on the bill. It was all sorted in the end. A hand over would have worked well, if the original waiter had said to us he was finishing.
But all in all a great experience.
Great food, friendly service. They brought a cake out for my son’s birthday without question, checked up on us regularly and everybody was very happy with their food.
I used to live near the Victoria and me and my friends came for a reunion and a Sunday lunch. The beef roast was more expensive than most(£17.50) and the meat was almost all fat. You can get such good roasts in London now that there’s no excuse to be serving that kind of meat. I was charged £4.30 for two lime and soda (£2.15 for a shot of lime cordial??) and once we’d ordered our pudding it took 25 minutes to arrive. So sad it’s gone downhill!
When we haven’t booked on a Sunday we haven’t been able to get a roast as they’ve run out. This Sunday I did book in advance, but they had run out of veggie roasts by 2.30! Gutted. They put something together for us but I thought with the booking we’d be able to get the real deal. We’ll be back though 👍🏼
We've had a lovely boxing day dinner.
Delicious food! The roast was amazing! Great service and friendly staff.
Fabulous food - really good, and arrived quickly too, but let down by the service. Friendly people but we had to chase quite a few things quite a few times.
Unfortunately they had ran out of some bits on the menu and the food took a looooong time to come out.
The service is definitely an area of opportunity...
Was good service. Nice people. Friendly pub
Had a veggie roast which apparently comes without gravy which made it so, so dry that I didn’t eat more than a few mouthfuls. Asked for gravy and was told, this dish comes with pesto which arrived in a small ramekin.
Veg gravy is pretty easy and I can’t see a reason to put pesto and not gravy with a Sunday roast.
Could have been a decent experience but I ended up being hungry all afternoon.
The food was great but it was impossible to talk due to it being a busy Saturday evening and large groups of people just there for drinks were also standing in the dining area. I know it would completely change the place but wonder on a fri and sat eve whether the dining area should be at the back only and exclusively for dining. We were also here on Monday evening and it was much calmer. Very much recommend the place but would avoid going for dinner on a Saturday night again.
We went here for Mother's Day and I can honestly say we had the BEST roast lamb dinner we have EVER had. The service was also great and when we were leaving my mother and gran received a card and flower each from the venue to wish them a Happy Mother's Day which was such a lovely touch. Highly recommend this venue.
Nice atmosphere, great for get together!
I've eaten at the Victoria a few times and it's been good. I'm vegetarian and there are usually a few options. On this occasion there weren't any vegetarian options – I had a starter as a main course – a beetroot and goat's cheese salad. It wasn't enough to keep a sparrow alive and even so, it was £12.50 which was comparable in price to the main course meat dishes. Not altogether happy!!!
The food portions were too big, I felt like I was in US!. Smaller portions please, which in turn could mean a cheaper menu.
Too expensive to go often especially when you waste half your meal. Shame, we love the Vic.
Lovely local pub with a great atmosphere. The food was fine, pretty standard pub grub.
My local and a great pub! Food is always good. Have been twice recently on sunday evenings and both times only 1 of the 3 roasts available so probably better to stick to lunchtime if you want a Sunday roast!
We enjoyed our lunch - waiters very helpful and friendly, made to feel welcome with baby in buggy and 4 year old. Lots of space to move around. Not too noisy - I'm deaf but could still have conversations. Excellent food with lots to choose from.
I live in the area and I’ve had drinks at the Victoria a few times. It’s a really nice pub! However, I had a Sunday Lunch in a group of 6 last Sunday and I have to admit although the food wasn’t bad, I was very disappointed with the portion size for the beef priced at £17. Both the meat and vegetable portions were not adequate at all! ‘The Rye’ pub has a superior Sunday lunch in my option with a better selection of vegetables and far more generous portion sizes at a similar price point of £18.
Starter was a measly portion, very long wait for main (roast) which was good. Complaint about waiting time did result in being given free dessert but that was a sticky toffee pudding which was burnt. Disappointing mean in an otherwise lovely venue.
Great food and atmosphere, will definitely be back
The Sunday roasts were very expensive for the little amount of food that you got.
It was really tasty, but just not worth the money.
The pork belly (which I know is a very fatty cut) had less than 1/3 meat on it, so perhaps the portion of meat should have been bigger.
The nut roast was really lovely.
Food great. Obviously a lot of potential at a quieter time, but clearly very popular for Sunday lunch and therefore service lacking as restaurant was very busy. Could tell waiting staff were doing their best but clearly struggling with how busy it was. Dessert order was mixed up twice!
Ambience not good because we struggled to hear one another over the noise of the bar and music. Acoustics need attention.
I would recommend at a quieter time.
Generally good but disappointing limited menu choice due to a cancelled delivery. Always a nice atmosphere. Would be better to bring the condiments to the table in bottles rather than little pots. Burger was a little tasteless, cheese could have been stronger. A little overpriced for what you get.
Half of the main and starters plates were not available, so not really a great choice
We booked a table at 4.45pm ok a Sunday to be told that food stopped being served at 5pm. So we had to rush pick a main and didn’t get the option to choose a starter or pudding . Apart from that staff are lovely and wine good. Food a little hit and miss
