The View Restaurant at Dunham's Bay Resort
The food was outstanding from the appetizers to the salads to the entrees! The barramundi fish was excellent and the spinach artichoke dip also amazing which came with a side of crackers and charred pita chips.. so good!
Food was delicious and service was exceptional. We had a beautiful view of the lake and the fireplace made it really cozy. We went back 2 nights in a row. Reasonable prices for a fantastic meal!
We truly enjoyed our whole day in Lake George and completed it with dinner at Dunham’s Bay. The meal was ample and tasty and I would recommend the restaurant to others, the only blemish was that when I left and talked to some of the locals they told me about how on Sunday they go to the restaurant for Brunch or Dinner because the dinner is 20% off if you go before 6. I received no such discount. Otherwise, all was fine.
great food, good service, not rushed, super server Alli
The service was great and so was the food. The location was perfect overlooking Lake George
We were greeted at the door asking us if we were , the "Brown's", which we are. We were seated with a gorgeous view of the Bay and our server was very attentive. Excellent food, view, server and atmosphere. We highly recommend. :)
Simple, quick meal. Nothing too fancy but
Food was good. Service was wonderful. Our server Katie was so sweet and attentive! Will definitely come back.
Service and food top notch.!
42 years of marriage what a great place to celebrate
Location was nice, wish we could have eaten dinner outside! View from inside is ok. Good very good
Waited an hour for soup and a salad soup was Luke warm and never got the soup food was ok nothing great. I Don t want my steak on my potatoes just plate the dam food
The food was delicious but if you are in a hurry pick a different restaurant. Service was terrible. Waitress brought us out a high end bottle of wine it was already opened and she said do you want to poor it your self or do you want me to pour it?
We then ordered our appetizers salad and our meals. We then waited 35 min for appetizers
No bread and no salad no waitress to check on us. It wasn’t crowded
Food was delicious but there are probably better choices than here
View of Lake George from window seat was breathtaking. Made reservation in advance to get this seat, but there was only one other table in that side of restaurant anyways. Very slow Monday night here. Service was excellent. Food was pricy, but you did receive a lot of it. Nothing to complain about, but nothing that was out of this world. Alcohol was extremely cheap for going out - large glass of wine only $8.
Sunday @ 6PM. Waitress was sweet & by herself. Tried really hard to meet everyone's needs. Good Gluten Free choices. Cocktails very good.
The dinner was very good. I had the scaalops, which were excellent, and my wife had the duck which she said was very good. The service was adequate. There where no problems but the server could have been more personable. It was like she would rather be somewhere else. The location and view are wonderful.
Excellent food, service and the view is beautiful. So happy we decided to have dinner there. The scallops and pork chop were great. My husband and I will definitely go back on our next vacation.
I rarely write reviews and always give the benefit of the doubt and I tried to today as well. I thought, maybe someone called out sick and they are short staffed - but no- this was just too bad to be someone calling out sick. When we arrived for our reservation we were told it would be 15 mins for a seat by the window, so we just sat inside- no issue for us. We literally sat there for 20 minutes and had to ask for a menu. We never received a high chair (we went and got it from by the bar ourselves), kids menu or crayons. From the start we asked for a kids drink, cider, beer and each a glass of water. We had to follow up twice for the kids drink, 3 times for my cider and after asking 4 times for a simple glass of water my husband went to the bar to get it himself. My entree came with a soup or salad- but my soup never came out. It was removed from the bill, so I just never got a soup or salad that was supposed to be included (my entree was not discounted). My toddlers mac and cheese had a soup type sauce so my kid wouldn’t touch it. My entree was fine, but my hubby didn’t finish his - he said the oil and cheese separated in the alfredo sauce. I forgot the times, but I think it was at least an hour just to get food. We still cannot believe we spent over $65 or so on this July 4th dinner. It was just soooo shockingly disappointing. They are in a great location, so I really hope they make changes to improve.
I don’t know where to start. This was a really bad experience and the only thing that made it better was the wonderful waitress we had and the outrageously funny bartender. Other than that, it was terrible. From the moment we arrived, the host was a a really rude annoying twit! The last place that guy needs to work is in a restaurant as a host. They need to keep in in the back washing dishes. He was rude and got worse as the night progressed, even insulting at times. It took a while to get service but when the waitress got to our table she was really sweet and apologized for the long delay. The apps we ordered calamari and kabobs were way over priced and just not that good.
but when the meals came out, after a really long wait and by then the restaurant was empty, they were cold and terrible. The ribeye steaks which we ordered med. rare were way over cooked and tough as shoe leather. The potatoes and veggies on the plate were really cold. It was terrible. The waitress was very apologetic but it was obviously out of her control. The prices, are way too high for such a lousy food quality but then again it’s just another crappy lake George joint trying to milk the tourists and not caring what’s on the plate, only in the register. But we’re locals and we will pass on the word to stay away.
There were limited choices, but that would have been fine had the food been replenished. It was not. Though uncrowded, service was poor. The one positive was the omelet station. A diner would have better food and service. Disappointing.
Dinner was awesome. Appetizers were awesome. Steaks were awesome!!! That’s all I can say. We will be back for sure
Overall, we like the food a lot. Mushroom ravioli, consistently good. The steak was a little chewy this time. It was cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. When we were there a month ago, the steak was excellent. The boursin mashed potatoes last month were dry and tasted like instant potatoes. This time they were perfect.
We visited the View on Wednesday evening and again Father's day. While this review is for the Wednesday evening, I would like to comment on Father's day brunch as well. The Wednesday dinner was an excellent value for the money. Food was great. Very good martini and excellent mushroom ravioli. The service was not perfect due to the crowd but once again the value was good. On to Father's day brunch: it was amazing. We have enjoyed buffets all over the world including Asia, Europe and the middle East. Not to mention Las Vegas. The View brunch buffet on Father's day outclassed them all in terms of value. Lobster tails and jumbo shrimp for $16!!! Eat your heart out Bellagio and Caesars. And yes, the service was very good.
Always enjoy the View. For a truly great view of Lake George ask for a table nearest the window or in the alcove room (just off of the main dining room). This place is more cozy and has only 2 tables in it.
The service was great and the staff were very friendly! Food was excellent.
The food here was amazing. Service was quick and super friendly. Definitely would come back again!
Thank you for sharing your experience, we're so happy you enjoyed your meal!
33rd Wedding anniversary
Thank you for celebrating your Anniversary with us!
Thank you for a great evening. The food was great and loved the view. Waitress was a trainee so a few mistakes but nothing major would recommend to all.
