always reliable good food, good service and good atmosphere!
Ceasar salad just okay
Great food! Nice outdoor area! Friendly Staff!
Parking can be tight.
The Village Bakery experience today was fantastic. Keith, our server, was the best of the best. He was very thoughtful and caring. We were celebrating a birthday and he observed that the birthday person loves lemon. We did not have time for dessert, but he brought a great slice of lemon cake for the Birthday girl to take home. We will ask for him again when we come next time. Of course, the only problem is finding a place to park!
Very nice in back outdoor space.
Summer weekend brunches are always fun, very casual, with lots of delicious menu items to choose from. We love to sit outside in front, sip iced coffee (and sometimes a Bellini), feast on avocado toast or Caesar salad with salmon, and people watch. Good for couples, friends, and well-behaved dogs.
A 20% gratuity is now included. Wish the service was better!
Great food, super outdoor set-up, great staff......
The three of us had a very nice lunch. As usual, the food was excellent, our server, Andres was great. Always a pleasant experience! We will be bringing another guest, Jake’s sister here next week. We are anticipating another fine experience! Cheers, Jeff and Jake.
I went on a Friday and had to wait quite a while to even be offered water then to have my order taken after that. I had to flag down a waiter which was a bit disconcerting. However, our food and appetizers were brought out promptly and tasted as expected. I'll return but likely on a weekend when there are more attentive wait staff.
Salad was good, but not excellent as I would have expected- were not served bread? Choco cake delish!
Always been a favorite
Love this neighborhood favorite. We dined with friends, two are vegetarians and the chef easily accommodated their request on the menu items. I am a big fan of Taco Tuesday, the portions are generous.
The food and service were outstanding! We ate outside, under umbrellas, and it felt very safe.
The food and ambiance are good. Service was very polite, great for brunch thou...
I think the umbrellas add nice ambiance and would be nice if they stayed up after sundown
We had a terrific server, Miguel, who was professional, knowledgeable , accommodating and personable. His service was the bright spot of the evening. The food was ok. Serving sizes way too large to be appetizing in most cases... the avocado toast was huge!!
This was the second time I've dined there for dinner in a couple of months, and on both occasions I was annoyed by the music they insist on playing way too loudly. When I asked the hostess to lower the volume the first time, I got an unsatisfactory answer...something like "this is a station selected by management ..".... well, it is inappropriate and not at all conducive to an enjoyable dining experience. I know I was not the only patron frustrated by the level and type of music. Perhaps they feel the need to out do the Bucks ( adjacent restaurant) music.
Miguel did his best to communicate my request to lower the volume, which I very much appreciated. It lasted about 10 minutes before they returned to the louder volume.
The food here is consistently good. Just be aware that if you order the Red Trout dish, the filet is trout but it looks, feels, and tastes like salmon.
Parking impossible at or Brest the restaurant. Very good food and service to enjoy if you can get there.
Food and service both very good; we'll go here again and again. The heirloom tomato and fig salads, trout, and lasagna were delicious. Great wine.
But maybe public griping is the only way to encourage a change to the music playlist. I get wanting to create a unique ambiance, but when it includes Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl"? The whole thing suffers from that same aggressively cheesy vibe. Please, make it stop.
Always love the Village Bakery!
a great place for a special birthday lunch with friends.
Always a wonderful dining experience!
We were seated when we arrived. We waited for 25 mins for someone to come to our table. We never received even water. No one came until we went to the hostess and asked for a server. We called one server over and he came in our direction and walked right past our table never speaking to us. This lack of service is unacceptable. Shortly after the hostess came to our table and said she was going to be our server we left to go next door to Bucks. Very bad experience.
Great pet friendly patio. Our furry companion had a blast meeting other furry friends.
This delightful dining establishment is a real treasure during CoVID. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to guests. The food I diverse raging from home style to pizzas and salads. The corn anything is delicious and the cocktails are creative. Highly recommend for outdoor friendly dining.
Poor service and sloppy food presentation for price point. But solid food.
As usual, our meal was excellent. We took friends here and they were really impressed and enjoyed their meals too. Thank you staff. They were all wonderful and our waiter was outstanding. It's so easy to write a review like this because there really wasn't anything they could improve upon to make it better.
Thanks, everyone here!
Good food and service.
Delicious food and enjoyed sitting outdoors. Service was excellent.
Wonderful fresh produce. Outside seating is available.
This is the second visit for lunch here in the last month or so. The ambiance inside and in the back patio is quite nice, the food is good, the service is outstanding. My only complaints this time are lack of nearby parking despite an 11:30 reservation, and the heat, neither of which the restaurant can control. It was so hot outside in front of the restaurant that we asked to move inside, and the waiter courteously accommodated our request. I ate the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and it was tasty. My friend ordered a pizza and it was large enough for her to take half of it home for another meal. I recommend the restaurant, but because of the limited parking without having to walk almost half a mile, will probably try somewhere else next time.
Fantastic food! The tomato salad, humus, deviled eggs, trout, fried chicken, sweet corn soup, and chicken pillard where pitch perfect. It is not the cheapest place, but since you only live once, you might as well enjoy yourself and tuck into great food in a great environment, with great service. Oh, the cocktails were fabulous as well.
As always, the food was fabulous, the service warm and friendly and the ambiance perfect!
Lovely food and great service. Noisy on the back patio but otherwise excellent.
My girlfriend and I had such a great time at The Village Bakery and Cafe! Our server, Susil, was so kind and attentive. He really made sure that we enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be coming back :)
Fried chicken is delicious but comes with nothing. Hamburgers wee bland. Need one thick one medium rare. Generally overpriced but fun location etc.
As this was our first visit, the Host staff were quite warm and welcoming!
The Village Bakery and Cafe was a perfect close to our "Spa 1/2 day"! It was just lovely to sit under the cool umbrellas and enjoy perfect cocktails and and appetizing lunch. We planned it perfectly to save a pit of room for dessert.
We both had salads - I won't remember the names correctly: the super greens salad and the summer butter lettuce salad. Both VERY enjoyable and filling. Our waiter (I believe Diego) was fabulous! Was very informative about the menu, food prep, flavors and tastes. We were not rushed so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
A new and worthy addition to our quarterly spa routine!
Wonderful service from David made for a really great Sunday brunch.
Always an enjoyable experience, everything is delicious!
