The roast is delicious
Had a large beef roast and oh my it was amazing couldn't fault it at all meat was amazing beautiful cooked. Lovely restaurant and will definitely be back again.
Hi Kieran, thank so much for your great review, much appreciated. Look forward to welcoming you again soon.
Food/service was amazing will definitely be returning
Hi and thanks for your great 5 star review! We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
When table of 6 booked online, we were positioned in the corner of a small room on the edge of the restaurant away from all the other guests and couldn’t be moved.
Tiny mussels and prawns in meals chosen which didn’t reflect in value in the price we paid. Nevermind - nice for a drink there in the summer with lovely views to be had I’m sure!
Food was good. But it would have been nice to be informed that all the kitchen staff finished at 9:00 pm. We had finished our main by 8:30 and we sat waiting and waiting for someone to come with the dessert menu. By the time we found a waiter it was 9:15 and too late for dessert. Disappointed in the service and attitude. Couldn’t even offer a couple of slices of cheesecake from the fridge, no effort to please.
Great and fast food, my dog loved the doggy food! :-)
Hi Emma, many thanks for your 5 star review. Delighted that you, and your dog, enjoyed your meal with us!
Had the best evening with my partner. Everything was oerfectb
Can't fault anything at all, love visiting with friends, thank you 😍
Have been many times, booked a table for a family occasion at 7 30, arrived early to be told that our table had been laid up but given to someone else ! They refused to move and we were given a table by the door. Had to order the food at the bar. My daughter paid for a bottle of wine....no glasses! My fish pie was dried out and my dessert was inedible.
Extremely disappointed at this visit, we lunch here often and the roast dinner on this visit was almost inedible roast beef was a third fat and potatoes were like leather, felt like a cattle market no table reserved even though we had booked.
Lovely setting and most of us loved the food. Two of our 7 people didn't like some "very greasy potatoes" that came with a fish dish which need to be changed on the menu. However the staff dealt with it very well and efficiently. The sundaes were really good, the fruit one can do with more actual fruit in it. Despite these minor grumbles we would definitely come again!
Great home cooked food, friendly service and a lovely view and all at a reasonable price.
Hi Liz, thank you for your great review, it's appreciated!
Not a great experience, 3 of the main menu dishes were off, no chicken or beef. 6 of us were eating but 2 dishes came 15 minutes before the rest so we didn't really eat together. Where we ate was quite noisy, not helped by at least 2 dogs barking. We won't be rushing back I'm afraid.
Never, in all my years, have I experienced a finer sausage.
Nice venue, great views, good food and good service.
Hi Andrew, thanks for taking the time to post a review, it's much appreciated by the team.
My self and 2 friends went for an evening meal. Firstly I was dismayed that they didn’t do mocktails, so had to have another drink. My friends enjoyed both their Main and sweet. I myself couldn’t have either of the dishes I wanted as they were unavailable. There were no specials because of Christmas parties. There were a lot of empty tables, and it was not very busy. The staff were how ever very pleasant, and well presented.
A great location next to the waterfront with views across Plymouth Sound. The food was delicious. Free parking is a bonus too.
We love the Waterfront - especially the staff. The only reason I marked down slightly was because we ate at an odd time, the roasties had been kept a tad long, but otherwise BRILLIANT!
Food hot, fresh and very tasty. If anything I would say a bit too much food. Next time we wouldn’t order our dessert when we ordered at the start. No sooner hard we eaten our mains and dessert turned up. Weren’t asked if we were ready for it yet. However food and staff lovely
Hi Anne and thank you for your 5-star review. Our portions are generous but they do seem to be what most people want! Apologies if you felt dessert was a little too prompt. We hope to welcome you again soon.
A lovely location and interior. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The food was filling and nice. A fairly basic menu done well.
Unrivalled setting and great range of real ales and other drinks. Visit was only marred by low grade turkey served with roast.
Refreshingly modern sea food dishes, with sea bream paired with chorizo, and crevettes marinated in chilli. Very nice. The childrens' menu is top notch! The dry, flavourless chicken detracted from an otherwise delicious meal, though; and it's all just a little too expensive.
Food was good but for a quiet Sunday night service was very slow. Waited nearly 25 minutes for our meals but to be fair food was very nice when it came.
Excellent Sunday roast. Lovely venue and good value for money
Thank you for your 5-star review, it's much appreciated. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your Sunday roast and hope to see you again soon.
Brilliant meal here with the family including two small boys.
Lovely Sunday roast
Group of seven of us with different dietary needs... All very happy with food, service, venue and staff.
Thank you all
Function room doors left open causing a cold draft
With that said very nice food
We eat here on special occasion love it
First time I wouldn’t give full marks across the board. Location and facilities are excellent, staff friendly and helpful, food was not to the usual standard though. It looked rushed, and was overloaded with herbs masking much of the dish’s flavour
Long delay between courses which was acknowledged and a free dessert offered.
Hopefully a one off, Just need to reset the standards of the food & service a bit and it will be back to the top of my list.
Yum! A delicious traditional Sunday roast at a reasonable price. Sadly the chicken on offer was no go as it wasn’t free range and we would have relished some apple and horseradish sauce to accompany our pork and beef. Portions were generous and service excellent. On a warm day sitting outside overlooking Drakes Island and Plymouth Sound makes it a special venue for tourists and locals alike.
Excellent service and delicious food. I had Sea Bream with olives.
A nice setting on a summers day unfortunately we went when it was extremely windy and constantly raining and being right on the sea front you certainly got it! But that is no fault of the restaurant. We received good service and I think the meals for everyone was ok although my plate was overloaded and needed guardrails, actually at the end it looked like I hadn't eaten a thing and the sea bream was over cooked and dry. However, they do sell a good selection of gins and I was impressed that they sold my favourite 'six o'clock gin which is rarely sold anywhere. We heard also that they sold draft Leffe beer but unfortunately this is no longer the case otherwise we would definitely visit again.
Great quiz! Quiz lord is awesome! Food is good although would appreciate more offerings in smaller plates just for quiz nibbles.
The meals we had were very nice but far too much. There was a lot of waste. It would have been nice to have the choice of smaller meals as well. We did wait a long time for our meals and noticed that people that had arrived after us were served before us. There were six of us so maybe that was the reason
Really pleasant staff, surroundings and outstanding view!!
Good graduation celebration family dinner as well as celebration drinks with friends afterwards.
Very understaffed, food took ages to arrive, was overpriced and the food wasn’t anything special. You’re paying for the decor of the place more than the food. Food took so long to arrive I had lost my appetite once it had arrived and the chips were like oven chips. Very expensive for what you get! Had to queue at the bar as no one had come to take our order to which we were told to sit down as we weren’t to order from the bar and someone would be with us. Should have more staff or limit bookings. No one came to ask us if our meal was ok either. Very poor service.
Table service was great, the food was fantastic. Can highly recommend The Waterfront for a meal or a casual drink
Waitresses very slow to take order then forgot my friend’s order, by the time she got it we’d all nearly finished. They did offer us slight discount. Food was ok, big portions. A little pricey. Lovely views outside.
Booked a table nobody new about it the toilets were disgusting so we left won’t be going there again
Had a very tasty meal with great views and service before our trip to the theatre. brilliant
