The Westerton Arms
A traditional pub and restaurant in the beautiful, historic spa town of Bridge of Allan. Established in 1842, the Westerton Arms has been, and still is, an integral part of the Bridge of Allan community.
Open daily from 12am, until 10pm, we serve exceptional quality, locally sourced food.
In our bar we have a wide range of spirits, malt whisky and an extensive range of gins. We also serve a range of locally brewed beers and ales, as well as mainstream brands, namely, Guinness, Belhaven Best and Fosters lager, to name but a few.
We have wood burning stoves for chilly days and beer gardens front and rear of the building for those sunny days. There is also customer car parking to the rear.
Four legged friends are welcome.
Large portions are good value for money. Service was just the right level of attention.
Our waiter was excellent but the food was really poor
Japan lions rugby
Beautiful food excellent value for money, service was first class would highly recommend going there.
Good traditional pub grub, good staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Waited 65 minutes for our starters when those around us had both courses. Ended up walking out. Absolute joke
They did well accommodating us last minute unfortunately the food was not the best & we had just came off hill walking so we were great full, service was good, door attendant very pleasant a lot of good points
Unfortunately the food was very disappointing garlic bread under cooked & No garlic 🤩
We spent yesterday afternoon in the beer garden. Staff were really helpful and attentive. Cocktails were good.
The food was lovely and loved the service. My only issue was the time it took to receive my food but since I wasn't in a rush this was fine. Will be back.
Food was delicious and service was very good. My only grumble would be that the table next to us was far too close. We were almost touching back to back. It would have been far more comfortable with a bit more or a gap between us. This may have just been an oversight and it won’t prevent me from returning
Staff not trained, no-one seemed to know who was responsible for what table. Had 3 people try to take our order, but then had to wait 15 minutes for our first drink. When it arrived, the wine came first, was plonked on the table unopened. Had to wait for passing staff member to ask for corkscrew. Friend's drink arrived much later than the wine in wrong type of glass. Wine almost too late for food. Food terrible. Chippy standard haggis starter, very greasy, oil needs changed. Almost inedible burger arrived cold and difficult to eat off choice of either the unhygienic wooden boards, or cheap disintegrating napkin, which stuck to the burger. Gordon Ramsay needs to come to the rescue.
Waited 20 minutes to be seated waited another 20 minutes for a menu and a drinks order, food was well below average and had about 5 different waiters and waitresses
Waited ages for more drinks
Won’t be back anytime soon
Sitting area outside very very noisy not enjoyable to eat a meal in. Eventually moved inside and a lot better. Customers for drinks only should have separate area from diners.
Spare seats in the sun yet told had to sit in the shade, told that they didn’t do cocktails on a Saturday .strange. And also when asked for a drinks menu were told there aren’t any available. What sort of place is this, won’t be back. Also to add when we asked for a straw they seemed to proceed and ignore us the rest of our time in the beer garden
Food wasn't nice. Daughter couldn't even eat her chicken strips as were so greasy. Sons chicken burger was dry and he needed a mountain of tomato sauce to eat it! As for the dirty fries they were disgusting! Won't be back.
Food was nice but room was very cold. It wasn’t busy but staff were slow to bring drinks and take our order. Staff were very friendly and helpful though.
not up to the usual Westerton Arms standard. Slightly grubby.
Excellent service, very efficient, friendly and welcoming. The outside seating area is good, but would be more comfortable if there was a designated non-smoking area.
Friendly, attentive staff who made us feel very welcome in the comfortable, clean and very welcoming pub.
Will definitely be returning!
We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy, staff was amazing but customers weren’t, seemed like some customers didn’t care at all about social distancing and they were very disrespectful, to staff and other customers.
Lovely staff and ambiance. The food and drinks were lovely! Would definitely recommend!
Good food and good service, I would recommend to others.
Great day, good set up outdoors, meal was lovely.
Great service, good food, would go back very friendly staff
Almost everything was perfect, the food was magic and the drinks fairly priced. However, the staff need training in customer service! We asked a girl for napkins which never came, we didn't receive cutlery (after asking for it!) so had to eat with our hands. The staff in general just weren't very friendly, it felt as though we were an inconvenience by being there.
Booked for indoors and staff went to sit us outdoors, unaware of our booking. Menu had changed and we were unaware, very disappointing number of options available. Queued for ages just to pay for 3 drinks. Left to eat elsewhere.
Staff here are always really friendly and visible, service is very good. The food was good, served quickly and all hot. No wait for drinks. We sat outside in the marquee which was comfortable. Good pub for a bite to eat with great service.
The food took too long and my burger when it finally arrived was very greasy, pity as the presentation was on point and the staff were friendly and attentive
Booked table for 6 outside dining. Seat was soaking wet as was table. Had to dry with own tissues. Other tables available would not accommodate us. No patio heaters and it was an exceptionally cold day.
Could not believe you had to go into the building to check in. I would have thought would’ve been much more COVID friendly to check in at your actual seat.
Limited menu available. We were more looking for a platter of nibbles. No Kopperberg cider available unless you wanted no alcohol.
Two friends joined us 10 minutes late and they were frogmarched back into building by very rude gentleman as they weren’t allowed to join us until signed in.
We will not be back. Found staff very standoffish and rude.
Menu more for dinner than a lunch .
Good food, service was great but could do with a few more heaters.
Great service. Lovely set up. Feels very covid secure in the outdoor tent
Went to The Westerton Arms on a Tuesday evening with two friends. The smell of wood greeted us as soon as we entered the bar. We were seated outside. It would have been nice if another heater could have been set up further down the tent. We didn't have to wait long until our orders were taken - Both food and drinks. The food was amazing. We had ordered burgers and they were absolutely delicious. The drinks were good and strong. Desserts were excellent as well. Staff were lovely, efficient, and enjoyable to talk with. Overall, my friends and I are going to patronise the pub more often.
Good quality food friendly prompt service and felt reasonably cost despite being outside . No complaints and will def be back soon. Wonder if some nice planters around edge of marquee would make the outside space feel nicer.
Great effort by the owners and staff to reopen and stick to guidelines. Thanks👍👍
Great set up in the times were in, could definitely definitely do with patio heaters outside etc as is freezing, great staff friendly faces, good service, fair prices, I live litreally across the road by the dentist , will defo make it my local, looking forward to future visits etc
Very busy weekend. Staff were helpful and attentive. Food was quick to come to the table. Can’t fault our night.
Lovely to be back out in our local & catching up with friends. Staff are doing a great job adapting to the new rules, just waiting on the weather heating up!
Lovely outdoor seating area and reasonably priced drinks. Chocolate brownie was very tasty. Food menu looked lovely.
Seated at back of Tent behind a table where people were smoking heavily and smoke was drifting to our table. Two girls in our group are pregnant so asked if we could move. Waitress said she would discuss with her manager but nothing was done. Service was slow - almost 30 mins until our first order was taken. Some drinks mixed up.
Aware this was probably the busiest weekend in over 6 months but would have appreciated a separate non smoking area and more efficient service.
Great service - it was cold but nothing they could do about that...
All was great!!!! Will visit again soon!! xxxxxxxx
First impression were great as a regular looking forward to getting back to normal and meeting friends again, with everything under cover it makes it easier, we’ll done to you all for making fist day back welcoming
