The Westleton Crown
Head Chef, James Finch, and his highly skilled team pride themselves on their imaginative and varied menus which have earned us a 2 AA Rosette restaurant award, as well as a considerable reputation.
All of our meals are prepared on the premises, using the finest, freshest ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible. The same level of care goes into the preparation, whether it’s a hearty breakfast, a simple lunchtime snack, a relaxed meal with friends, indulgent dinner or traditional Sunday roast. Our breads are baked daily in the kitchen; the soups, pâtés and all of our delicious desserts are home-made – even the ice cream.
Our menus are perfectly complemented by an extensive and sophisticated wine list or maybe our selection of real ales.
We look forward to you dining with us soon.
Limited and unimpressive vegetarian option, harsh lighting in restaurant at night disappoints after cosy look of facade and front bar.
Would recommend to friends with reservations. We are well over being a senior citizens and it seems to have lost the home comforts we used to know.
May be the modern generation like the shabby sheik.! But it’s not our taste.
We have been here many times for lunch and always find it great in every way. I particularly like the Italian waitress and the young guy who plays the piano - all very good including the food and drink!
After making a booking for the restaurant, I was surprised to be put on a table in the public bar. Our initial drinks and food orders were taken promptly and the food was excellent.
The problems started after the food had arrived. From that point on we were completely ignored. On two separate occasions we had to get up from our seats to go and hunt down a waitress. This completely ruined the experience, and a belated apology was not enough to save the day.
I had heard rumours of bad service here, but had been told they had been sorted out. Obviously they haven't.
The food was perfect and it is a shame that the service is no where near as good. They have a long way to go
Quality service and food as we have always expected. We both had an amazing meal and a very good time. Will be back soon.
My partner and I went there for lunch. The staff were very friendly and the food..especially the pudding was delicious. Would recommend.
We booked a table for 13.45 and was put in the garden room. We didn’t get our order taken until about 2, then eventually received our starter at 14.25, our main course then arrived but it was the wrong one. Waited some more than eventually it turned up. My husband ordered the pork which was meant to come with apple sauce but there wasn’t any. We weren’t asked if we needed any accompaniments, but there didn’t seem to be any staff to ask for some either. We had nearly finished our lunch when we did get asked if everything was ok. We mentioned the missing items and got told you should have asked. Bit difficult when nobody seemed to be about! This was our first time here and we were hoping to bring a party of friends for a Sunday lunch, but we were very disappointed and won’t be rushing back again.
Very impressed with restaurant and all staff on the ball and attentative. Personally I would have liked more choice on the menu but what I had was good, plenty of room around tables.
Lovely place to eat. Good service. No choice for vegans.
Service adequate, food on the expensive side, although well cooked and presented.
Great place to eat. Even better you can take mans best friend into bar area.
Lovely as usual. Our favourite place to go for a meal.
