Worth the visit for the Tiger Bread and Marmite Butter alone but the Roast Chicken and Fish and Chips also excellent. Service also excellent.

Superb Sunday lunch! The food was excellent, staff very friendly and the pub had a really lovely atmosphere. Couldn’t fault it, and possibly the best Sunday lunch out I’ve ever had

Best meal we’ve had there in a few years! I think this was the first time trying the food with the newish chef/owners. Arancini, fish and chips, as well as the halibut with celeriac were all delicious :)

Great food and service, but experience ruined by placing us on a table next to the front door and bar. It was 2 degrees outside and we had a Baltic blast every time people came and went. Also, as the bar area is tiny, anyone going to it was peering over our table. Although we mentioned it unfortunately there were no other tables available.

The food is exceptional, with a great variety of local produce and fish dishes. The selection of beers and wine is also a mix of local and worldly. We were there on a Saturday lunch time and despite there being a few large tables the service was great and the food arrived in good time.

Pub was extremely busy and very limited food choice ie burger, burger or burger. We went because there was music on but it was impossible to hear it because of the amount of people there talking and generally moving around. Staff were very young and in experienced and food was not good so we left. It took 20 minutes at the bar to get a drink as there weren’t enough staff serving. Disappointing.

Hi Pauline, Thank you for your feedback, I’m sorry to hear that the evening didn’t meet your expectations. I’d like to clarify that all information regarding our limited burger menu and the expected busy atmosphere on the night was made available when you booked online. Additionally, we contacted all bookings to confirm these details in advance. Your comments about the wait times and service will still be reviewed as we always strive to improve. Many Thanks The Wheatsheaf
