   Really friendly service. Even though we were late they still served us at 9pm. Delicious food. Complimentary canapé was a nice touch.

   Excellent Sunday lunch, superbly cooked and well presented.The beef and pork were both delicious, beef was slightly pink and the pork had wonderful crispy crackling, a great selection of vegetables, great crispy roasts and huge Yorkshire puddings, an added bonus is the extra jug of gravy, we enjoyed every mouthful. Thank you we will be back!

   Sadly disappointing. We have eaten really well at The Wheatsheaf in the past but we won't be going back after our latest visit. Food was unexceptional and not what we expected for the prices. We waited for ages between courses so much so that the manager came to apologise but only unburdened herself about how the rennovations at the pub were making her life difficult and then left us without offering a free drink or coffee which would definitely have been appropriate. We did say we were disappointed with the food when we we paid and were given a free desert. Our waitress could not have been lovelier during the evening and the atmosphere was relaxed and convivial but after paying almost £140 for an average meal I'm sorry to say we won't be back.

   We chose 'the Wheatsheaf' for an impromptu Sunday roast because of its good reputation locally and we were not disappointed. We were accompanied by a 6 month old baby who woke on arrival so, unfortunately,we weren't able to linger. However... the service was excellent and so was the food. I had belly pork, which was scrummy, with a generous covering of crispy crackling. We also chose the lamb and the cauliflower arancini, both of which got a thumbs up. The mains were accompanied by Yorkshire pud, swede, gravy and a good sized dish of tasty veg and really lovely roast potatoes. They also served little pots of mint sauce and apple which was a nice touch. The pudding menu was very tempting but, with baby getting cranky, we couldn't push our luck! I liked the simple but homely decor. I also loved the music.

   Very tasty food. The triple cooked chips are the best ever! I had grilled halibut which was delicious. Very ample portions. Very friendly efficient staff.

   Food was very lovely & tasty very good quality. Service was only good for starter but wait for main course too long. Had we had a different table it would been a different review. They put a table right by the bar, was not a nice experience trying to eat dinner with loads of people coming & going to bar and constantly having people who are not spacially aware with their bums in your face. Would go back for food but would not sit at that table again. To be fair it was the only bad table in the house and we got it!

   Food acceptable, can’t really critique a salad. Service was excellent and as it was a beautiful day, we sat outside in the sunshine which was lovely. Thought it was little on the expensive side.

   Kindly accommodated us slightly earlier than booked. Stunning nibbles and amuse bouche but the roast beef was total perfection.
