Excellent food and service nice pub good parking
Will be back in the near future
Limited but very good standard menu well presented. Game pie was excellent
So sad to find only 4 tables occupied for dinner on a Saturday night. This place deserves support. The food was great, and staff really lovely who provided excellent service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Wheel. Keep up the good work guys. My only tiny negative feedback would be that our halloumi starter was too big (for some that might not even be a negative!) and the side salad with the burger was lacking a little bit of variety.
First time to this pub and not disapointed, welcoming friendly staff, very nice food (best veggi burger I have ever had)and very reasonable. We sat in the garden which has plenty of seating but the interior looked aslo pleasant. Would definitely recommend.
Once again the Wheel dished up another fantastic Sunday roast. The service was excellent and nothing is too much trouble
Our first visit to this pub. The Sunday lunch was lovely - the beef was beautifully cooked and very tender
My experience of the wheel inn was really good. The service was really good as they gave you plenty of time between each course. As I had 3 courses. The food was hot and tasty. If you want simple food but delicious this is the place to go
We had a super Sunday lunch here yesterday. We ate outside but the food was bought out hot and delicious, there is plenty to chose from the menu the staff were so helpful with a great service. The bonus was there was our favourite local band playing in the garden 21 Whiskeys it was such a super family atmosphere we had a lovely afternoon and we will be back soon.
Sadly I feel when we visited the place was understaffed. We were not given a menu and our order was not taken until we asked. I was given the wrong wine. The food was warm and the extra gravy never turned up. The band in the garden were very entertaining and probably the cause for all the delays. I would only return to have drinks in the garden.
Lovely staff, lovely food choices and adaptations were gladly accommodated, beautiful pub, good time had by 3 generation family . Thank you!
We were the only diners so there was zero atmosphere. The menu on line was extensive and was the main reason for choosing this location but this menu was substituted by shorten one in the day, when asked as to the reason it was to do with lack of availability of some ingredients. Both my self and partner could only find one starter we each wanted and both of us wish we hadn’t bothered the main courses were both on the small side,I had the Wheel burger which was tasty but the quantity and quality of the fries was poor. My partner had some form of steak which he said was good but again lack accompaniments. We both drove over 40 miles to this mid point but we both sale it wasn’t up to scratch with the exception of the service and certainly won’t be returning. Your should not be allowed to advertise one menu and offer something much reduced and inferior.
Our group of 5 walkers were warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our cooked lunch and beer
Lovely meal in a local village pub in Burwash which we hadn't visited before. Staff were welcoming and friendly, good menu choices and the meals did not disappoint. Lovely beer garden with play area if you have little ones with you.
Great food. Varied menu, shame no veggie roast dinner option.
Service a bit slow but generally very happy with overall experience.
Obviously a new set up here which wasn't a problem. Staff were brilliant and the food was really good. We were a group of six and were really well looked after. Can highly recommend.
After arriving at 11:55 when ‘the pub opens at 12:00’ and being told to wait outside was disappointing. No coffee beans on offer and one of the staff was in a grey hoodie and had no shoes on! Food was nice but wouldn’t be rushing back
Had a really delicious meal here, staff really friendly and helpful and service great.
Good food and pleasant staff. Quiet lunchtime. Clean and tidy interior without being stunning.
Seemed to be only one person serving . Considering the circumstances she did a fantastic job.
Food was delicious, calzone might have been the best I’ve had. Service was Ok, staff friendly, but a bit slow.
We were so looking forward to tucking in to some lovely tapas dishes, as were advertised on the web site, instead of which the main menu comprised of no tapas, basically a few burger and chicken dishes and, sadly really not a lot of choice. Also, when I ordered a glass of red wine I was told that there were only two choices available from the selection of around 8 on the list, namely a Merlot or Shiraz.
We decided not to have puddings but, as it was my birthday treat, I ordered an Irish Coffee and was very surprised when it arrived in a plain mug! I have to say this was the first time that I had actually drunk a liqueur coffee in a mug.
I have to say, on the plus side, that the service was really good and the staff were very attentive.
On the minus side, when I visited the Ladies, I was saddened to find no toilet paper and soggy sheets scattered on the floor. If this is what it is like midweek I wonder what it is like at the weekend when it is far busier.
Lovely meal, the steak was lovely and the fresh pizza.
Absolutely perfect lunch. Incredible food. Great service. Lovely pub - even a kids area out back.
Very nice vegetarian pizza and Sunday roasts. friendly staff
Not our 1st visit here chose to to book here as it was our 51st wedding anniversary and previous visits had been excellent.
Service the worst I have ever experienced . Given the wrong menu as no one around us was eating we had no idea that there was other food on offer . When we found out that other food was available and questioned why we were not given the full menu and the daily blackboard the response was sorry . The service was so slow restaurant wasn’t busy . The chicken in the chicken burger was dry tough and cold . When I went to pay they tried to overcharge me . When I pointed out that the menu we were given offered 2 courses for £11.00 . It was then we found out that they had given us the weekday lunch menu . We settled the bill after a discussion with the manager during which I told her they were going to get a stinking review . We left amicable but feel so let down that we are unlikely to return . I hate to give such a bad review but the experience totally ruined our anniversary lunch .
We were running late for arrival (Satnav!) and telephoned to request a delayed reservation which was swiftly and happily approved.
On arrival the carpark was refreshingly large and provided non cramped parking.
The young waiting staff were all immaculately turned out and were very polite and efficient.
The starters were very tasteful and well presented.
The roast beef (Sunday lunch) was of the highest order both in quantity and quality and cannot be praised too highly.
We sadly could not manage a pudding but the coffee went down a treat.
However the biggest surprise was the bill ... less than £60for two all in!
We will certainly be back
Excellent visit to the wheel lovely atmosphere and nice feel to it.
Food was fantastic the roast in particular great and good service will be returning definitely
We had a very good meal at The Wheel Inn. The service was relaxed and friendly but also efficient, the room not crowded but with a good atmosphere and the food was really good.
The food is simply incredible, the fish n chips is the best ever and the pork belly is great. As a great local pub, it’s great.
Excellent food. The service was good and efficient.
After a number of changes we were apprehensive but were pleasantly surprised by the quality and range of food served
Lovely garden setting. Cheerful and helpful staff. Limited menu
Fabulous Roast dinner at a really good price. We sat in the garden on the shade. The service was excellent, will be going again
Lovely staff. Food as always amazing. One of the nicest pubs in the area.
It was very nice indeed will be going back again in due course.
A lovely vibrant venue with delicious food. We sat outside in the garden enjoying the sunshine and had a great time.
The Sunday Roast was amazing very tasty with the biggest homemade Yorkshire puddings. Excellent value for money
Excellent food and service, it has really improved since reopening, will come again.
So lovely to be back at the wheel inn for lunch. We love their new menu and the mussels in particular were gorgeous! Lovely garden set up, we felt very “safe” from a COVID perspective and were nicely away from the other patrons whilst still feeling a good ambience.
