The service and food was excellent. The only issue was we could not tip the waitress as we were all paying with our cards. No one carries cash now a days. Other wise all good

Went for a romantic date to this charming restaurant near Dundee’s Quayside area, which was ideal for proximity to our hotel. The restaurant was cosy and atmospheric and I was pleasantly surprised at the menu as there were more dishes on it than on the online version. We had the Chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection, the meat was so tender and well seasoned ! The service was very good, with everyone being friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back when in Dundee again.

Not really a suitable place for a large party. Booked a table of 10 for a birthday dinner. One side of table was benched along a wall, meaning everyone had to move for one person to get out, awkward seating. Birthday was noted on the booking but was never mentioned by staff. Staff were cheerful and kind however service was incredibly slow. Mains had been sitting waiting to go and didn't seem to be under heat lamps, plates were cold and food was cold, made even colder while waiting for half of the tables food to arrive. By the time the last plates arrived everyone else had finished as we couldn't let it go colder. Waitress advised that the fryer was broken hence the wait for the fish & chips; if we had been told in advance we would have ordered differently as the wait was too much. Such a shame as it was for a special occasion and it was really disappointing. Food was fine but not great. I would rather they had been honest about not being able to accommodate a big table.

Started off badly / quiet and staff don’t show us table just said choose. Had a run in about it with ‘one of managers’. Service finally improved and staff very nice. Tiny basic menu of standard ‘pub grub’. Steak was a bad cut and low quality - hardly a melting ribeye. Pub grub dressed as a Restaurant .

Perfect! Lovely decor, very friendly and attentive staff and the food was delicious! Very reasonably priced too. We had no cash and when you pay by card there is no option to add a tip. This disappointed us because a tip was very much deserved.

We often enjoyed eating at The White Goose prior to it closing and so were really pleased when it reopened however our visit was somewhat disappointing. The surroundings are pleasant and attractive but the noise ( apparently from the overhead extractor fans) was so loud and unrelenting it completely ruined the overall ambience.The service was very friendly and efficient. The menu is rather limited and the portions were way too big. I find it off putting to be served a huge plateful and my main course would easily have fed two adults. Having already had a too large starter also it was such a waste. My husband had the same issues with his choices of starter and main . I think they need a rethink on menu choices and portion control as at the moment I’m not inclined to return Having said that I will keep an eye on the website as the chef indicated he was still finding his feet and trying things out and if I see a menu that appeals I’ll give it a go. I really hope they can iron out the issues and make a success of it as The White Goose used to be one of our favourites.

Dined with girlfriends for lunch a very basic menu nothing really substantial so we were all not impressed with menu all opted for chicken mozzarella baguette which to be honest was just ok. Service slow at times. Unless a more inviting menu I don't think we will frequent the White Goose again

I used to love the White Goose and was gutted that it didn't reopen after Covid. My friends all loved it too. So we were delighted to see it reopened and one friend + myself went for food yesterday. We were seated at 4pm and given the lunch menu. Very low on choices, basically sandwiches, none of which had creative fillings. My friend had Caprese chicken sub which was so small, it looked like 2 ends shoved together and the middle was nowhere to be seen (£11?) And I had Italian meat pin wheels - 4 sections of a wrap, none of which stood any taller than an inch. So 4 inches of wrap for £10. The wine was £9 per glass! For £1 more I could have enjoyed a handmade cocktail somewhere. The dinner menu is available to view online and looks varied. In person, the menu I was handed contained just 6 mains - 3 of which were burgers. So in person, it lacks variety and any pizzazz. Really, burgers are pub grub so to have half the main course menu made of pub food was disappointing. We both expected it to be as good as the White Goose we remember. But both have left feeling rather deflated by the experience. Neither of us can understand why only half the dinner menu is available in the restaurant. Such a pity too as I was planning to arrange a large family birthday meal here but I've changed my mind.
