We were recommended the white hart by friends but were thoroughly disappointed. The service was slow from the minute we arrived (15minutes for drinks and it wasn’t busy), then a further 30minutes for our food order to be taken. The food was relatively slow coming out and overall a bit disappointing, especially considering the prices. I had the chicken quasadilla, the portion was small, the avocado salsa had been left off (I was so hungry by the time it arrived I forgot until after), and the taste was just a bit strange, not enjoyable. My husbands medium rare steak was medium and cold. The desserts were better, but the churros were overdone and tasted like the oil they had been fried in was old. All in all overwhelmingly disappointing.

The pub has a pleasant ambience and we enjoyed the mussels as a starter but the main course was not to the same standard - for a restaurant specialising in steaks mine was tasteless and the seafood linguine contained too high a proportion of pasta and very little fish. Overall the bill far exceeded the value of the meal we received.

Had a very good meal at the White Hart. Most of the group had steak and I had a chicken burger. Beef fat chips, salads and onion rings. Food was excellent. We were in the conservatory which is very nice, the only downside is that when the sun came round it was right in my eyes which was not pleasant. We asked to be moved but there wasn’t anywhere without that problem. We all shuffled around the table and managed to mitigate the issue until the sun had moved round. I believe they are going to do something about this - some blinds would be useful.

Was really good food!! would 100% recommend. my husband had the fillet steak and he is very particular when it comes to steak and he was extremely happy, cooked perfectly. i had the roast and it was massive! really tasty!

Food was amazing and so was the service. The place was packed full on the day. Would definitely go back. The only down side was the vegetarian roast was all gone.

This is a lovely place for a Sunday roast dinner - we have been now 3x and each time it was perfect. Very tasty, plenty of it and delivered with a smile and promptly - what more could we ask for.

Excellent staff, attentive and polite - not fazed by being very busy. Food was excellent (apart, perhaps, from the roast potatoes which had a reheated feel to them) and it was disappointing that some items on the menu were unavailable. Very enjoyable lunch, however.

We regularly dine at The White Hart on Sunday’s as we love a good roast and yesterday’s was exceptional. The Yorkshire puddings were as light as a feather, crispy and tasty and the beef and pork were equally delicious. The service was swift and the staff are super friendly.

The staff were lovely, extremely welcoming, good tasty food though a healthy/salad option as a main would be appreciated. Their plans for future menus such as Fish Friday sound really interesting. Only criticism is that in the main bar restaurant area the tables were fairly close so having two noisy parties also dining made the noise levels distracting. Overall though a very pleasant evening.

Not a good second experience. After a shaky first visit where there were issues, we decided to give it another go. Calamari starter came relatively quickly, although 2 portions were good, one was decidedly tiny. Main course took nearly an hour to arrive, excuse was a tech issue. BBC burger was overcooked and tasteless, and that's coming from a teenager. Our mains were 2 x roasts, chewy beef and dry chicken. On our first visit, we had roasts, with many more vegetables than on this occasion. Staff were not attentive, although later on, the lady behind bar tried to rectify issues, and seemed to be customer focused. Do we risk it a 3rd time, in the hope that we finally get an enjoyable meal? Not sure, prices are higher than most, and quality of service and food hit or miss. Must mention that staff loudly conversing near us, moaning about how busy they have been, isn't a good projection. Surely in the hospitality industry that is your job, and a busy lunch session is good for business.

Really good 1st time (a month ago), disappointing this time. Mainly because of service. Food took a long time to come. Shouldn’t be the case for steaks in a steak restaurant. And the food had been left standing too long.
