Lovely setting, good food, attentive service. Only down side was a wobbly table which was kind of remedied with napkins!
A lovely afternoon meal for my wife’s birthday also spent with our children. Thanks to all staff including the restaurant manager who spent time at our table in conversation
A very busy Wednesday but staff kept smiling. Sadly fishcakes had run out but our vegetarian choices were excellent.
I have always enjoyed dining at the White Hart but this last experience was rather sad.
We waited nearly an hour for the main meal to come to the table.
We were sat next to the door leading to the kitchen so a lot of traffic passing within feet of me, occasional staff kicking the door to Go through to the kitchen, I found this unpleasant.
Where I sat the walk way was narrow and other customers banged into my chair and my partners chair.
Next to us was a rather enthusiastic man on a first date, who’s conversation dominated over ours.
The saddest part - this was a meal to celebrate my sons birthday, his uncle, myself and my partner apologised for a disappointing evening.
The white hart is a brilliant place to have a meal but not this night
We changed to sit outside as a lovely day - and staff were most accommodating.
We had 2 courses and coffee
Booked online and not advised that only a special valentines meal was available. Meal was OK but expensive compared to normal and didn’t really want 3 courses! Service was patchy but to be fair it picked up once we flagged it to the manager
Fillet was an inferior grade of beef, well below standard in my opinion. Soup served with a single stale-ish piece of bread. Took forever to get replacement bread. Soup quite good. Fries and bernaise good.
have been 4 times in 6 months, now food seems to be going down a bit in taste and lacking in flavour??
Wonderful menu to choose from. Lovely surroundings. Good service. Rib eye steak was a little bloody despite asking for well done. Sea bass had a little too much olive oil with it. But we had a lovely evening anyway.
We had good service and the food was very enjoyable.
The only negative I could say would be that the tables are very close together so it can get a bit noisy.
