The White Horse at Tilbrook
Our aim is to do the simple things right, go the extra step, make you feel at home and let you realise food is about fun!
Our influences and inspirations come from all across the globe, this may be an authentic pizza from a trip to Italy, chicken wings we tried in Malaysia or an amazing burger we ate on a trip to New York.
Excellent food & service as always. Glad we were able to get out before too many restrictions have been put in place
Good menu choice and the children's "make your own pizza" and colouring materials are a nice touch. Good pub food.
Really helpful and friendly serving staff would definitely visit again
Had a lovely quiet dinner with my sister to celebrate our birthdays. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I love The White Horse for dinner out, a couple of glasses of wine, or just a peaceful mid-afternoon coffee.
Will come again gladly! Our chum from Norway enjoyed herself. So glad this nice pub has come about again!
They couldn’t get us finished quick enough so we would leave so they old clean and shut It was only 9.30 on a Saturday night. Didn’t feel very welcoming at all
Cleaning part of the restaurant while we were still eating. Just didn't feel as if we could relax and enjoy the experience
Food average. Fish dry and pudding chewy. Don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon
We had a lovely time. They were attentive and welcoming, food plentiful and tasty. Can't wait to go there in the summer and enjoy the surrounding countryside.
Excellent service. Friendly staff.
An enjoyable lunchtime meal.
Couldn’t fault the food, it was all very nice. We sat in the conservatory, unfortunately there are no window coverings and the sun was blinding, which made the experience quite unpleasant. Also the knives were the worst I’ve ever used, really only any good for spreading butter, not cutting into your roast beef!
Staff were polite and friendly, I did mention both issues at the time, hopefully they will be rectified for an all round more pleasant experience next time because the food was lovely 👍
Excellent Sunday lunch cooked to perfection. Police and friendly service. Can’t recommend it highly enough
Great food as always but service a bit slow waited almost an hour .
First time at The White Horse - will definitely be back; loved everything about it - lovely pub, fantastic service, great food (and lots of it!) :)
It was Wednesday pizza night when we dined. Beautiful homemade pizzas, fresh toppings and perfectly cooked. Service was brilliant and lovely atmosphere! Perfect for our anniversary dinner. We will definitely be returning!
Run out of some dishes but enjoyed what we had. Would go again
It was my wife’s birthday and we went for Sunday lunch. After being welcomed we were seated but had to move the table to get enough room to seat my wife was offered a “birthday cocktail she chose one only to be told a few minutes later that they did not have the ingredients she had to choose another. We ordered the food the starters were average but ok then the trouble started with the delivery of our roast beef lunch the description in the menu did not have a comparison. My beef was so under cooked it was impossible to cut with the cutlery I asked for a sharp knife and was given a steak knife which would still not cut the nearly raw beef. As the waiter did not see to care I asked for the bill for the food we had even that took two attempts. At that point we paid the bill got up and left the premises. It soured my wife’s 60th birthday lunch and what made it even worse was that the staff and manager could not even apologise to my wife. It is a pub that should be avoided.
Amazing evening. Perfect service and excellent food.
Fantastic meal with excellent friendly constant service throughout.. Thank you
The food was 100% average..middle of the road, standard. I had a Sunday roast... the potatoes and veg were under cooked. The service, despite booking a table, was next to non existent, they just want people in and out. We sat in the bar for 15 mins waiting for our "table to become ready" and were crammed in the corner clearly as an after thought. Why book in advance just for the table to not be ready and to then sit facing a wall.
Staff very welcoming and polite at all times. Food was good, tasty and plenty on your plate . We sat in the conservatory part having an outlook over the fields which was very nice. The noise level was to high for me personally but didn't spoil an enjoyable Sunday lunch with my husband. We would eat there again.
When you walk in, straightaway you notice that this has a proper country pub feel. Nice decor, comfy seating areas in the bar area. The barmaid was friendly and helpful, taking our booking and offering drinks.
We arrived around 20 minutes early, so sat in the bar area, which was nice, not cramped and able to have a conversation privately. Our table was booked for 8pm, we sat and chatted and quickly realised the time was 8:20pm with no sign of being taken to our table. It would seem we had been “forgotten” but it wasn’t a problem, we were having a good time chatting. After asking if our table was ready we were quickly shown to our table with an apology.
In the dining area it’s nicely laid out, not cramped.
The food was very nice, but if you expect big portions, you will be disappointed, but the food is very nice! Service is quick and informed.
Now my only really negative gripe was when I asked for the bill, which came to £45:17 I think, the waiter brought the bill and left, I left £60 on the “clipboard” the waiter came over picked it up counted it and said “do you want the change?” I replied politely yes please.
Now, I always tip, but to be asked directly at the table I feel is quite rude? Maybe it’s just me.
Note - I did leave a tip of £5 it would have been £10 had I not been asked.
We had a lovely meal on valentines day, the staff were very welcoming. The atmosphere was good. Food was delicious. Will return.
Amazing food & Welcoming staff! Would definitely come back again!
We attended the White Horse on Valentines day for a late lunch as we had our 2 year old with us. It came highly recommended so thought we d give it a go. All I can say is it lived up to its recommendation. Beautiful setting, very quaint, lovely surroundings, tastefully furnished.
The food was gorgeous, well presented, good portion sizes and tasted so good!! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we will be taking friends back with us next time we go. Without doubt you must visit. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food, Great steak and Ribs and wonderful service, will return
Tasty food, good value. Nice to be able to meet friends at a goid, dog friendly pub.
Myself and 2 friends had a very enjoyable lunch. The baked hadock with crab and samphire sauce was delicious. Will definitely return. Service was excellent.
I was pleasantly surprised with the experience we had at The White Horse, because I had read some negative reviews before we visited. We enjoyed our meal and would eat there again.
My party and me were made to feel welcome on arrival and the waiter was very keen. The starters and mains were very good too. However, service was somewhat slow, especially as the evening progressed, and it became quite noisy too. The desserts were also disappointing when compared to the expectations formed from the menu descriptions.
The pancake stack was 3 small pancakes with bacon in between. The scrambled eggs were watery and a very small portion. Once we had ordered, we had to keep getting up to ask for things like extra maple syrup (as the pancakes were dry) and the ‘endless’ tea refills - I only asked for one extra. They only offered water or two juices for the kids. And where were the ‘lots of treats’ for the kids? Very disappointing after the advertising seen on their fb page.
Food was excellent service was good . Salt pepper n mustard very unhygienic need to change this as none if our table if four would use either.
Staff are lovely food is awesome 👍😊
Beautiful food and great service
Absolutely love this place
Fabulous breakfast served with a smile, great coffee to go with it
Fab breakfast. Lovely pub with great service. A few additional options on the menu would be good. A small full breakfast, brown toast, fried eggs would be good. Highly recommend.
Last nights delicious meal. Exceptional mouthwatering steaks. The food, along with a lovely, cosy, friendly atmosphere made a pleasurable evening. Would recommend eating here.
This is our local pub and is great with a lovely ambience, great drinks and tasty pub grub cooked really well. Staff are always really welcoming. This is our go to pub all the time. 5 star experience
The waiters were very polite and funny. Nice place and great service, lovely food and overall great price!
Excellent menu with plenty of choice and all 4 of our meals were outstanding. Can highly recommend the blade of beef and sticky toffee pudding - the best I’ve tasted.
Food and staff are fantastic would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.Always ready to accommodate requests
