The White Horse at Tilbrook
Our aim is to do the simple things right, go the extra step, make you feel at home and let you realise food is about fun!
Our influences and inspirations come from all across the globe, this may be an authentic pizza from a trip to Italy, chicken wings we tried in Malaysia or an amazing burger we ate on a trip to New York.
Great food, only let down was that the service was a little slow but apart from that a great place to eat. Cheers
Went for a Birthday meal ordered steak med to well done first was pink then second d had blood running out of it. Customer service was appalling manager didn't come over and apologise ruined my Birthday never again !!
Food was good value for money, lovely atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff, I would say this place is good for decent pub grub and family gatherings
Very poorly cooked, stale food.
Service was great, both servers were polite, helpful and friendly. Food was good, with very generous portions. I don’t think my food arrived the warmest, when added to talking a lot catching up with a friend made it even less warm. Ho hum. The only sourer to our evening was the lack of coffee - we initially declined, but then changed our minds ten minutes or so later. It was only 21:40 by this point but the coffee machine had been switched off and they weren’t prepared to turn it on... bit of a shame. But I’d still go again, food was good, ambiance was good, just don’t forget to order your coffee early doors...
Great location for us and a lovely setting. Our table was booked mid-afternoon on a Sunday for sunday dinner. The food is very average sadly, we all felt there was evidence of the food sitting under either heat lamps/hot plates. Really wanted The White Horse to be a good culinary experience but this was not the case.
Food was excellent..service was excellent..was a little noisy because there was a 30th birthday but that was not the pubs fault ..
First time visiting and we were delighted
Food was great
Chap serving us was SUPERB
So patient and kind with the kids, a real air of calm
What a find
We will be back to sample the Sunday lunch!!
Staff were very friendly and helpful .
Food was exceptional and reasonably priced, would definitely recommend to friends and family and will visit again soon!
Always top notch food and service. Lovely place to dine.
Great food, lovely staff - have recommended to friends
Everyone in our group enjoyed their main meals and desserts. The food was really good. We had main meals and shared desserts as the meals are big.
First visit, we will come again with fiends and family. Steak was perfectly cooked even though one was requested medium to well done and one medium rare, the chef can definitely cook steaks . Menu has something for everyone, gastro style but not pretentious like some.
Staff were great.
Every time we have been we have never been disappointed! Great music, very welcoming and friendly staff and perfect on a sunny day outside
Fabulous Sunday lunch slightly spoiled by the female waitresses who were just miserable and not attentive to us at all. We think eating out should be enjoyable and the staff are a big part of the overall experience and The White Horse was let down badly by it's people.
Great food and excellent value for money. Extra credit to our waiter who despite an injured arm and obviously in pain , gave us great service
Have been to The White Horse a few times now, always had really good food. This time we went for the ribs night, food was good and all came out stuffed
Fifty characters you say well I'm the only character I know, but in a good way....every thing was as it should be...and to get me out on a lunch time mid week mid harvest ....it has to be good. Well done.
We were very well received and had the option of any where to sit including with our dog. We chose the garden as the weather was good and we received excellent service in a very pleasant setting. The meals we chose were very good and the overall experience excellent.
Wonderful food, friendly staff - very enjoyable, many thanks for the flexibility of our booking and for catering for our large group!!
Excellent food, venue, services!! great job highly recommend
Friendly and bubbly, very helpful staff, this Pub should appeal to everyone
Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. This is a bustling little place which really seems to have hit the nail on the head for providing great food at an average price in relaxed surroundings. When we visited, it was a Sunday lunchtime and the place was full. The food was fantastic and the service friendly. We all had a Sunday roast, although other tables were eating anything from fish n chips to steak. I would recommend this place and will be going back to try out their various lunch and evening offerings.
Excellent service and outstanding food and what good value
Delightful setting, did not know what to expect after the renovation but it exceeded my expectations. The food was imaginative and appertising. Well worth going again and soon
6 adults 1 child Sunday dinner.
Service was quick and good however we all ordered pork Sunday dinner which looked amazing but we asked for apple sauce to accompany our dinner only to be told they had run out? 2 pm the roast potatoes were solid and over cooked
Lovely place we went when it was very quiet. The only thing I would say is if it’s quiet and all the tables are free please don’t put a table of 4 with small children next to a couple having a quiet lunch. Sit them away as it’s disrupts the conversation.
That days hero burger was immense, best burger in ages. Totally recommended this place.
Awesome venue, Great food, fantastic staff, with the added benefit of fabulous sun set location
Great roast dinner, scrummy sticky toffee pudding desert, very nicely refurbished since we were last there.
We asked for fish without batter. It was beautiful fish and lovely chunky chips. There is a play area outside. Also you can bring your dog too. Very convenient. On the route to our home from St Neots where friends and family live. I can meet my friends half way. Very clean. Lovely views from the conservatory.
well place need a darn good clean as crumbs everywhere! there was only us and and two other tables yet food took over an hour to come!! the starter was amazing thus took 20 mins to arrive... then the steaks which took about an hour from ordering with starter .... not only were they undercooked but full of gristle and not very nice.... when we mentioned it i got oh i’ll let the butchers n
know.... no sorry!! will i go back?? not a chance! 3 starters 3 mains and 6 drinks £120.... i could do better at home!
Sadly the serving staff seemed uninterested in attending to us and we’re not cheerful, dumping cutlery requested on the table in a pile for us to help ourselves to. One member of staff one our arrival saw us stood at the bar and turned around walking in the other direction while we were left waiting and wondering where to go to check in for our booking. The food was pricey for what was served three small pieces of halloumi and to pieces of pineapple for £6. Having gone there for a birthday meal, we would not return after the experience we had.
Lovely food, would have liked a little more choice. Service was good. Only down side was the restaurant was quite noisy with a few crying children/babies. We booked a table for 8 pm hoping that diners with children may have eaten earlier but that wasn’t the case. Overall though, an enjoyable evening.
Booked at the last minute, it was very busy but staff were very helpful and quick service.
We have now visited 8 or 9 times since it reopened just under 12 months ago and have always been impressed.
Great outdoor area and lovely interior. Food and service was great.
Food was good and there is a good choice, maybe a bit more vegetarian/vegan would be good for me!
Enjoyed our visit. Husband went for the Fish on Friday which was disappointing as he appeared to have batter with very little fish inside so would not recommend. Service a little slow towards the end, but otherwise would probably return as it’s local for us.
A lovely meal at lunchtime with friends
Our table was in the light and airy conservatory area. The service was good, gave us enough time to read the comprehensive menu and checked that was ok with our meals
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices, one diner was gluten intolerant and was catered for with no problem
One comment I would make was the area became quite warm but not so much that we felt it necessary to ask for window to be opened.
Will definitely return
Starters was very small salmon with creme fraiche very poor size for money
Wrong mains brought out and had to get forks and knives ourselves due to none being brought out with dinner and no one around to ask
Cappuccino Luke warm
