The White Oak is a contemporary Michelin rated pub and restaurant in the heart of Cookham in Berkshire.

Taking hospitality back to it's roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team, gastronomic experiences showcasing outstanding suppliers and produce but most of all – to enjoy our great quality menu, simply prepared.

The White Oak prides itself on offering a diverse selection of wines, beers, cask ales and ciders. Our carefully selected wine list offers an accessible range of bottles to suit all tastes and dishes and don't worry if you are driving, we have an extensive lo and no alcohol list too.

There is a large garden and terrace which is covered and has heaters, with dining pods for the perfect unique dining experience. There is ample parking and dogs are very welcome in the bar.

    A focus on the incredible wines from Tenute Orestiadi, Sicily. A young company that vinifies the best grapes grown on the island: from the Belìce Valley to the slopes of Mount Etna with the aim of tracing routes that unite the people of the Mediterranean. Known as the crossroads of the Mediterranean and with influences from Italy and Spain but also Arabia and Africa, Sicilian cuisine is a veritable melting pot of flavour. Guests are invited to arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Due to the group nature of the evening we are unfortunately unable to delay proceedings for late arrivals.     Staying in the area on holiday and booked Sunday lunch. Food was very good and service excellent. All roasts were well presented with choice of vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. Seconds on request. Roast potatoes were outstanding. Lovely puddings and coffee. Would recommend.

    Lovely afternoon spend with delicious food, great service and in a kid friendly atmosphere . We were two families and enjoyed it. Food was plentiful and the desserts were yummy.

    An old favourite, wasn’t sure how it would be after takeover by Brucan. Still a lovely venue, though ambience rather spoiled by the fact that we were the only people there for most of a Thursday lunchtime. Service is lovely, and chef adapted a dessert for diabetic requirements. The price has certainly increased but the quality is still high.

    Menu abit limited at the moment and both of us didn’t rate our desserts highly. We both left half as actually didn’t taste very nice which was such a shame. The pigeon was extremely rare, but seeing as I don’t eat pigeon often wasn’t sure if this was how it was supposed to be cooked. I usually have a rare steak so not put off from this, but this was charred on the outside and raw on the inside. Main options limited, their old menu was better.

    First visit to the White Oak. Easy to park. Good choice of dishes on menu. Tuesday lunchtime so not overly busy. Good service, good food. Good value. Will definitely be returning.

    The food was good although it could have been warmer. The service was excellent. It was a bit noisy but I accept that this is probably part and parcel of a Sunday lunchtime and I perhaps should have asked for a quieter table at the time of booking which I will do next time. It was impossible to find a parking space in the car park but I discovered a public one not far away so this was fine in the end.
