The White Pheasant
We had a very pleasant evening at The White Pheasant and will be going back soon. Staff etal were amazing and we had a very 'sweet' treat for our wedding anniversary at our table.
I would recommend them highly, thank you all at The White Pheasant.
I took friends from Yorkshire who were staying with me. Everything was great and I certainly hope to eat at The White Pheasant again
Local restaurant in East Cambridgeshire, good food, excelent service and comfortable atmosphere. Recommended. JH Ely
Excellent quality of both food and service for our lunchtime visit. Highly recommended.
We loved it. The food was wonderful and the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and efficient.
A superb evening out!
A really lovely experience. My good friend recommended here a while ago. He often spoke of what a fantastic place to dine it was and we were meant to come here together for a meal. After his very tragic and early death we decided to visit after his funeral in his memory. We were not disappointed and enjoyed every second...the service was great and the food fantastic...thank you Pete for recommending The White Pheasant x
Our second visit and was just as impressed as the first time. We had the Sunday roast on this occasion and the taster menu on our first visit. Service was excellent
We had a delicious evening with the Vegan Tasting Menu last week. Each of the courses was lovely and was thoroughly enjoyed. The carnivore part of the family loved the Steak and Ale pie and the chips were the crispiest I have ever had! All the staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. An amazing place to go for a special occaision.
food not very good will not be going back again. Staff were very friendly and helpfull
Amazing as always!! Definitely the best food around!
The food and service were excellent. lovely atmosphere can't wait for the after racing parties
Last went to this place for Sunday lunch a couple of years ago and it was an absolute delight. Unfortunately now with more tables crammed in, and enlarged out the back, the kitchen and service seems overwhelmed (as indeed was the car park!). The Sunday lunch menu is no longer a bargain. Food was lukewarm, or served on cold plates. The roast was a disappointment - chewy beef and roast potatoes soft and soggy, all of the vegetables mashed - presumably to avoid the need for accuracy in cooking - and flavourless. The standard was acceptable, but nowhere near as good as it used to be, nor worth the money charged. This was no better than a bog-standard pub roast which would have been a fraction of the price. The wine list is also not as good as it used to be, and is overpriced. Service charge was added to the bill. Cannot comment on the White Pheasant tasting menus, but the Sunday lunch menu is not definitely worth bothering with any longer and is nothing special. Such a shame.
We enjoyed the food and the ambience but the service did not reflect the price. The waitress who showed us to our table was in a rush throughout at one stage actually running. She banged the water on the table and throughout the service it was too much trouble to walk round the table to serve preferring to reach across us. This did not help us to relax and enjoy the evening.
Very enjoyable, well presented main courses. Excellent loin of venison dish. Starter rather bland ham hock terrine. Good wines. Service good. Restaurant lacked atmosphere as it was almost empty for a Saturday lunch.
Very disappointed to find that the Farmers menu, 2 courses for £19.95 as then advertised on your web page (Open table)was no longer being served at this restaurant. I note that information this has now been corrected.
The food was fabulous and the service was great too
Great food and service. I was however disappointed, having booked well in advance, to be seated in the rear by the kitchen entrance.
The food here was very good, we went for Sunday lunch and the beef was very well done. The starters and puddings give a hint at what the a la carte menu would be like, and they were a cut above your average pub, both interesting and tasty.
The main room was busy and quite warm from the open fire and was full, which I suppose is a good sign. We were in the little annex, which was a little disappointing as we were on the route to and from the kitchen, which as I said was busy., and so we had waiting staff sweeping by regularly. This is not to blame the staff who were all attentive and polite, but it did take the shine off a little.
We would go again, but request a table in the main room (away from the fire). Food was well proced for the quality, wines were good but pricey for a pub. There is no 'proper' beer on tap which was a surprise.
enjoyed the evening food well presented and full of flavour very creative menu!
Lovely meal for a birthday treat. Beautiful food but FYI it is a very limited dining menu , only 4 choices. But all very nice.
We tried the 7 course tasting menu, all courses were lovely. Service was good, friendly ambiance. We really enjoyed the surprises and beautifully prepared food. Thank you for a lovely evening.
