    On the Sunday lunch time it was completely over booked. We had to wait an hour for a table we had booked. Not enough staff, however the food was good.

    The White Pheasant had been recommended to us by friends who had been a few weeks previously. We were shown to our table by a very polite waitress and decided to have the carvery. There was a choice of 4 meats and we all chose turkey, which was cooked to perfection. There was a wide range of vegetables to choose from and they were all delicious. To follow, we had dessert. There was a great variety on offer, so much so that my daughter and I had difficulty making our minds up. My husband and son in law had black forest gateaux and my daughter and I eventually chose honeycomb cheesecake and lemon meringue pie. All our desserts were fabulous. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were discreet and attentive. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals here.

    As maney others have already alluded to, the facilities need a little TLC, but the food, staff and location are excellent. I would certainly recomend The White Pheasent and we will be back. Thank you

    The food was delicious .. service was amazing .. could do with a little tlc. The owner did say they were working really hard on this, as they didn’t take it over till the second lock down. I wish them every success and we will certainly be returning in the very near future.

    This is such a fantastic spot, near the river. It's such a shame it's in urgent need of updating and painting The food was good, and the choice of desserts was excellent

    The white pheasant is a bit run down and could do with a bit of tlc, but don't let this stop you. Breakfast was fantastic, complete with a huge pot of tea and friendly staff.

    Really quaint place, lovely surroundings, beautiful building, friendly staff, really lovely food and excellent value for money. Really cosy. Will definitely be come back
