The White Swan was built in 1790 and has had a £150,000 refurbishment inside and out to create a contemporary space whilst retaining the history of the building.

    Very good overall. A little difficult to get attention of waiters. Calamari disappointing - overcooked and expensive for four pieces. Very busy though.

    I booked this on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. 6 adults and two children all left with very full tummies! All plates empty, even my 10 year old who always leaves something. Food was piping hot, served quickly considering the time we went they were fully booked. Everything was available on the menu which is an absolute first for us dining out. The puddings were absolutely delicious also! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for such lovely food!

    Lovely Father's day lunch. It was busy but there wasn't a delay with anything and the staff were brilliant as always. Sunday lunch was lovely! The White Swan is our go to place - always a warm welcome and consistently good food.

    Out first time here for the four of us. Impressions were good as the whole place was obviously well looked after and clean. we found the front of house people exceptional and were well looked after by Emily and Toni who made us feel welcome and obviously knew their job. We were a bit concerned with the extent of the menu as it was huge, especially considering its not the largest of premises. we disagreed a bit about the food and, without going through everything, would give it 3.5 out of five. Staff and premises were worth 5 out of five. My son and his wife live in Windsor and said they would be happy to come again when they visit us.

    Had a lovely meal. Just picked 5/6 starters to share between two and it was more than enough! Food was great, the hot honey chicken tenders were incredible. Staff super friendly and a great vibe in the garden.

    A poor experience compared to previous visits. Sat near extractor fan belching out kitchen fumes ( shirt still smells ) We ordered 4 main courses, 3 arrived together 1 not until others were half way through. 2 meals acceptable but fish on fish and chips was opaque and obviously cooked from frozen. The guest who had the fish was violently sick at home on return. We ordered 4 mainly ice cream based desserts and were then told after the order was placed that there would be a delay “As they were busy “ We cancelled them and requested the bill. One of the managers brought the bill and proudly exclaimed she had taken the desserts off the bill… which we had never had ! We asked for the main course to be taken off which after permission being granted by the boss,. It was particularly disturbing to witness the same female manager openly chastising one of her staff in view of us. It was frankly embarrassing In an area where there is lots of choice of decent places to eat, this is one we won’t be returning to in a hurry!

    Lovely place, excellent service. Great easy to use allergen online menu best I’ve seen. Lots of gluten free options very very limited for gluten and dairy free unfortunately because the meats are all marinated I think but I had the prawn curry which was delicious but too spiced. It was a green curry which I thought was traditionally less hot than a red curry but this was hotter than a vindaloo heat. I love hot food but had to leave most of the sauce sadly but the flavour was gorgeous. All other meals in our party were good my Dad also had a curry and agreed too hot but would def recommend huge varied menu if you aren’t an awkward diner with lots of intolerances.

    We love The White Horse, Woodnewton. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed whole heartedly by members of staff. From that moment on, the staff are simply superb and nothing is too much trouble. They have an expansive menu and all food is cooked from fresh. There are always items on the menu that would suit all tastes. Food is well priced and your plates will always be well and truly full when served to you at the table. Quality, quality, quality. Thank you to all members of staff for always making us welcome.
