The White Swan Public House Ratings and Reviews
We were there on a rainy evening, so sitting outside was not an option. It was a very lively place. very satisfied with our dinner. We happened to be there on an evening when there was an oyster tasting going on. A couple of people in the group took advantage of that perk.
Fantastic experience! The cocktails, chosen by the server, were top notch. We had the brussel sprouts (not to be missed!!), seafood poutine (amazing), and the black cod (homerun). Innovative and unique food without a hint of pretentiousness. We will be back soon!!
We've eaten here several times, always outstanding food and drinks. This night was our best meal yet, green salad w/fried oysters, side of fresh tomatoes, burrata and zucchini special(should put this on the menu permanently!), and the new salmon entree, yum. All great dishes and a really nice combo for a fine meal.
The White Swan Public House was recommended to us by a local. It has a lovely, pierside location on Lake Union, close-enough to the hub of Seattle but sufficiently removed from the bustle of Pike Place Market. White Swan is perfect for casual dining with both indoor and al fresco options. The menu is inventive, marrying traditions with innovations without being self important. We would gladly dine there again.
Came here with a friend who was in town from Texas. We were greeted by the owner Dan as we were shown to our table, it was obvious the wait staff was working hard to keep up with the crowd on a beautiful Summer evening and the initial greeting was a warm one. I am glad we had reservations.
I was a little nervous about how tight the seating was but the smell was pretty amazing and the food I saw coming out looked fantastic.
We ordered pretty much 2 of every one of the fresh oysters on the list which obviously changes daily. The oysters were all fantastic, extremely fresh and had a very well described tasting comment so you know what to expect.
The wine selection seemed a little bit limited but what was on the list were all excellent selections. I know my wine very well and was happy to see that the staff here knew what they have and a limited selection ensures they can offer suggestions if you need them. I knew what I wanted and the selection was not overly marked up.
The food selection also seemed limited at first but when you see how fast they bring dishes out I can understand why they do this. Complicated menus are a killer for a kitchen!
We ordered the Steamed clams, Baked Octopus and each got the Scallops.
In all we were very happy with our dinner experience and while we were very casual and relaxed I could see this place being fantastic for a date or anniversary. We enjoyed the dinner very much.
I would post more (check my review on Yelp) but the number of words are limited on this site.
We enjoyed a very good meal while seated on the patio. We went on the 4th of July, for a late dinner. The restaurant and it's deck are on the shore of Lake Union. The Lake Union fireworks are exceptional. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner and drinks, the halibut was good, the portion was a bit small. The salmon was exceptionally good, and the portion size was very generous. Brisket was delicious, pork belly was exceptionally good.
Fun find right by Lake Union! Really great dishes include Poutine of the Sea, featuring clam and bacon poutine, as well as fresh and local oysters. The service was a little slow at one point, but it picked up. There's a lovely patio right on the water, great for a nice day.
Wow this place was way better than advertised . The location on a sunny Seattle day was great next to the water. The beer wine selection great plus cocktails. Service was super friendly quick and extremely knowledgeable for the entire menu. Attentive but not pushy. The food wow the food!! We had the seafood poutine and it was fantastic. Worth going back for again and again. I am not a big brussel sprout guy but all of the flavor sounded interesting and it great the bone marrow with oysters was really out of this world. For what we ordered was a great value. I will go back here many times now
The food here was outstanding, but nothing compared to the fantastic service. These guys run a great operation, rivaling the awesome atmosphere offered up at their sister joint (Radiator Whiskey). If Justin's there, ask him to make you a 1794 - one of the best cocktails I've ever had.
Read the write-up in Friday's Seattle Times and was lucky enough to score a res for 9pm on Saturday. Love the atmosphere, good cocktail list (they were out of a lot of the oyster selection by that hour but we still managed to try a couple new West Coast varieties) and then had one of the specials, which was a soft-shell crab (delish) we also ordered a frisee salad with fried oysters (my husbands choice) and it was also very good, the fried brussell sprouts (AMAZING) and then we had to go for the Curry Wurst - and I have to say - I would go back simply for this dish alone. They play awesome music and I am sure when summer is in full swing the deck is going to be a hot/tough ticket. Can't wait to go back and sample some other items on the menu like the halibut, the bone marrow, the crudo - etc. Our server Wilson, was super well-informed and attentive without hovering and paced everything perfectly.
Awesome spot! Went on a double date here on a Saturday for dinner. Overall vibe was fresh & casual yet chic. Outstanding service, exceptionally reasonable pricing, and the best fresh daily rotating oysters. Great cocktails, wine list, and beer options. Casual enough for many occasions, but also great for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) I can't wait to come back here when the sun comes out & take in their views & experience their patio seating for Happy Hour, brunch, etc.
Overall, this spot did not disappoint! The food what thoughtfully prepared and each dish was decent. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu. I really liked the pork belly and the oyster selection was on point (loved the Glacier points). Also to note, I can't have gluten or dairy, and there were a lot of dishes I could still eat and they did not skimp on flavor.
There was a banging patio that overlooked the water. Too bad it was too cold to be out there. Darn winter!!!
