We went there for a Valentines meal on Saturday 16th February. We were not disappointed and the service was exemplary. The food was excellent despite the slight confusion on the menu regarding the tapas starter option which is not obvious at a first glance. Main courses were superb and my wife says that her fish was cooked to perfection. We would have no hesitation recommending this establishment to our friends and colleagues and will definitely be back soon.

We come here to celebrate special occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and attentive, the dining area is clean, calming and subtly lit, and the food is amazing. We shall definitely be visiting again in the future.

We had Valentine's Day lunch here and I have to admit that it was a much more pleasant experience from the last time we visited. This time there were mostly only couples eating, so no noisy tables with large groups. Service was very good, and we chose from the a la carte menu - a great scallop starter, and a fantastically tasty baked cod main for me, and rabbit and ox cheek for my husband - empty plates all around, all washed down with a nice carafe of house white. For dessert, my other half reckoned he'd had one of the best cheesecakes he'd ever eaten, and I had a decadent chocolate tart. It was a lovely afternoon and we came away well pleased that we had given The Wife of Bath another chance on this rather special day.

Variety of choices. We had the evening menu at £45 for 3 courses and £38 for two courses. Our table chose the vegetarian empanada, the hake and the ox cheeks for mains. All of us happy. Chose the wine at the lower end of the prices (£22 -£ 25 per bottle )and similarly happy.

There was too long a gap between starters and main course and menu font too small to read easily in dim light; we were not the only ones using phones to illuminate the document. Food was lovely and service very good.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We decided to go for the 5 course tasting menu, without the wines. Each dish was fabulous, just the right amount of time between courses as well. Husband also ordered the cheese board (small extra cost) at the end of the meal and had a great choice of cheeses and lovely crackers. Neither of us were keen on the olive oil ice cream but loved everything else. The staff were friendly but unobtrusive. Not the cheapest night out but for a special occasion we would definitely go again. One very small criticism is the lighting isn't very bright and I struggled to read the menu, however it does create a nice ambience. We have started regularly going for a beer and tapas at the bar on a Friday night and so far have loved every tapa we have tried.

We were 5 minuets late for a 9:30 booking - which i know is late however the restaurant was still 1/3 full. we were treated like we should not be there and all the food was half cold and thrown at us while we couldn't even get a bottle of wine. We tried to call the restaurant
but no one picked up so explain we would be late. They the said at the end would you like to add the 10% sur charge - this was the 1st time anyone had really wanted to talk to us mmmm........

This is my wife's favourite restaurant and fast becoming mine. We have eaten here a few times now and can not fault it. Food is superb and the service matches. The lunchtime set menu is tremendous value for money and a good excuse to give it a try without breaking the bank...I just wish we lived nearer to it.

My partner and I had an amazing evening in The Wife of Bath in Wye. We have a 6 month old baby boy and this was the first proper night out we have had since before he was born, so I wanted to make it really special. The wife of Bath did not disappoint! We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. It is not cheap, but food of this quality is not and shouldn't be. If you are looking to have a really wonderful and special meal out, I can wholeheartedly and sincerely recommend The Wife of Bath in Wye!!

Fantastic ambiance and an amazing meal. Staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Eaten at The Shard and their food doesn’t come near the quality and flavour. All the staff should be so proud of themselves. The Wife of Bath is a hidden gem.

The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. However the portion of Gurnard that my wife was served was very small. I wish I had pointed this out at the time but my wife was not keen to do so. I am surprised that you would jeopardise your excellent reputation with such a stingy act.
