It was my husband's birthday and also father's day so I booked a late lunch. As always the food was excellent and we enjoyed it very much. The restaurant was very busy and can get a bit noisy.

We came here for Father’s Day lunch. Fantastic restaurant in a lovely little village. The food was great, the service was exceptional. Staff were brilliant with our two children. Highly recommend.

We have been to the Wife of Bath on several occasions. The food is excellent, with many Spanish dishes and a very good wine list. The service is outstanding with attention to detail and a personal touch. I highly recommend this place.

Chose here to meet up with a friend as she lives not too far away in Ashford. The food was well presented & delicious & there was a good choice of wine by the glass.

Went there for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. Everything from the welcome on arrival to the service and food was fantastic. The menu is not huge - which I think is a good thing - but there was still plenty of variety, and the quality was out of this world. I'm not exaggerating when I say I honestly think this was one of the ten best meals I've ever had!

Have now made a few visits and never disappointed. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. So much better than the over-rated Rocksalt

We are locals so come to the Wife of Bath fairly regularly, mainly for tapas and drinks at the bar, but occasionally to eat in the restaurant and it is always excellent, delicious food, portions are generous so you can end up over ordering. Lovely touches such as amuse bouche between courses. Staff are really friendly, never feel rushed. The Gin and Tonics are amazing! So lucky to have such a great place on our doorstep. Would love it if they did a residents loyalty card?!

Absolutely wonderful food, have thoroughly enjoyed our meal. From our tapas to share starter, through pork belly main and probably best ice cream I have ever had. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
The star of the show are staff though - very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. We were served by Liam who event went and got some cooking tips from the chef.
Keep up the good work!

What a wonderful meal, the small dining area allows the staff to give a first rate service you are not left feeling forgotten. The staff are knowledgeable about both food and drinks being served and are all friendly. The food itself as delicious my husband and I both had different starters and main, the baked crab, rabbit, baked cod and lemon sole but all were equally lovely, we did share a slice of the chocolate tart which was exceptional. We will be returning next time we are going to have the tapas to share for starters and the paella for 2 - we saw a couple of other diners have these and again they looked superb.

Fantastic food, beautiful restaurant, great service, although we used a travel zoo voucher there were no shortcuts, little tasting goodies from the chef, freshly made lemon meringue with a happy birthday message & a really comforting lunch, highly recommend.

Booked for a birthday celebration meal with friends. Absolutely loved the place. Atmosphere and food were first class. We asked lots of questions about the food and the manager was so enthusiastic and welcomed our interest. We even asked to see the 12 year aged steak, even though we hadn't ordered it. He was very happy to show and explained the whole process. We had an excellent evening eating wonderful food full of flavour. Highly recommend for any occasion, not just birthdays.

Sunday Lunch, and Where Else to Be Than The Wife of Bath
They Provide Such A Good Value Sunday Lunch, in a Perfect Environment, Warm, Cosy, Very Friendly and Dishes Coming Out of The Kitchen Purely Spot On. I love Perusing the Menu with a perfectly Crafted Negroni, together with some Delightful Little Tapas, Crunchy Breadsticks, and Huge Tasty Green Olives. Never Feel Pressured to Choose Here, If Needed, You Can get some Great Recommendation both on The Menu and Wine List by Friendly Knowledgeable Front House Team Members. Decision Made, Beautifully Cured Salmon with Fennel, Pickled Cucumber and Goats Cheese, As a Cheeky Second Course, I wanted Scallops, But as I had The Dish on The A La Carte on a Previous Visit, I Left It To Adam The Head Chef, to Do Scallops as he Wanted… So Here those came, Beautifully Seared on a Bed of Smooth Parsnip Puree, Girolle Mushrooms, black Pudding, (Heaven). As My Main No Surprise There, The Usual Pink Romney Marsh Lamb Rack, with The Trimmings, and That Gorgeous Salsa Verde. Simply a Smashing Dish. As per Usual, you Get That Little Pre-Dessert, today very Refreshing Pear Sorbet on A Brunoise of Pear, And Oh yes, They Do Also Have A Brilliant Pastry Chef Too, Today, really was no Exception. That Lightly Spiced Pear Tatin amazingly Cooked with A Nice Helping of Vanilla Ice Cream Made a Great Finally to This Visit… I keep Saying It, But Those Guys Knows How to Come Out With The Goods, and This On Every Visit Too! Pure Top Quality. Amazing!

The Wife of Bath seldom fails to impress, small select menu which allows the chefs to turn out good food.
My only minor disappointment was the rather high service charge but it was optional and we were reminded about having it taken off if we wishes.
It would be so good for all restaurants to charge for food and wine accordingly so that there would be no need to add on additional charges.
Many thanks Richard.
