Second visit, great food
Paired drinks worked perfectly.
Nothing too much trouble.
Lovely stay and amazing dinner.
Outstanding and beautifully presented food, in a most pleasant environment. Great choice of wines and delicious desserts. Staff made us feel welcome at all times, thank you very much for making our wedding anniversary feel so special!
Fabulous food and wine. Staff were exceptional. Highly recommended
Our first visit since change of ownership. Worth travelling to. Food was excellent and we would have chosen 80% of items on the menu. We will be back. Noise level on Saturday evening as we would expect and added to atmosphere did not detract from the experience.
Excellent taster menu and wine pairing , very good service , nice comfortable room for good nights sleep with very good breakfast .
Excellent in all areas, superb food and great service
Exceptional. Interesting and very well executed tasting menu, with proper, decent portion sizes. Highlights for us were the snacks, fish course and the outstanding tiramisu. Great service throughout too. Good value. Will most definitely be coming again!
This is the first time that I have dined here but it definitely won’t be the last. Superb food and customer service. I highly recommend The Wife of Bath.
Fabulous food and excellent service. We had a wonderful time.
Outstandingly fresh and vibrant food with some very unusual flavours which complemented the dishes. The crab raviolo with lemongrass and the passion fruit soufflé with bergamot sorbet was fantastic. The service was superb. Definitely an excellent restaurant by all standards.
The food was very good and the service was friendly and helpful.
Our compliments to the chef.
We still find the ambiance very noisy and soft furnishings would make this better.
We had the tasting menu with wine pairings, some of the courses were yummy and some were delicious! The wine pairings were surprisingly excellent. London-level food and service was very friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Looking forward to going back again soon!
Lunch with an old fried - absolutely fantastic food, service and wine. Would definitely go again.
The food was spectacular, the venison was melt in the mouth and the Sea Bream was very tasty as well. Recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The staff were incredibly friendly and we’d go back because of them.
The food seemed quite average. The vegetarian starter was very simple, and the main could have been more imaginative; didn’t enjoy the cauliflower.
The desserts and drinks were lovely.
A beautiful evening with absolutely lovely food. Our waitress was delightful. Also very impressed that all waiting staff were wearing masks, thank you.
Dining at the Wife of Bath was a great experience, from quality and taste of food to service - all been to a very high standard.
We stayed fort one night. The room was small but comfortable with lovely toiletries. Good choice of teas and nice to have to coffee machine in the room and fresh milk available. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. We plan to return to try the tasting menu next year
We had a fantastic time at the wife of bath. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Every need was taken care of. Service was quick, polite and the girls were kind and chatty. We had two sea breams which were incredible and two roast dinners. The roast dinners were a little disappointing, the beef was tough and the Yorkshire’s were over cooked and too crispy. Overall we had an amazing time but just a few tweaks needed.
Had a lovely lunch here for my son's birthday. Delicious crab raviolo, pigeon, lamb, hake and pork belly which, in my opinion, were a notch above other similar Kent eateries. We will be back!
always a treat to visit The wife of Bath. Outstanding food and service
Very good crab ravioli and sea bream. Lamb a little bland and needed a sauce to lift it. Less enamoured with the tiramisu. It had an overwhelming bitter/salt taste. Quite hard to put your finger on The dining area lacks ambience and could do with some colour or texture to lift the mood Attentive wait staff and speedy service
Beautiful food and fantastic service. Highly recommended
the menu was very expensive for the quality of the food. the food is very rich and there are no side dishes to order. the wine is reasonably priced and the service is very good.
We choose different things from the menu and our party was very happy with their choice. Will recommend without any hesitation.
We sat in the new outdoor terrace area which was beautiful.
Food was on the whole very good.
The presentation and cooking of the first course pidgeon was particularly outstsnding.
Main fish course was fresh and well presented, but not hugely innovative.
The passion fruit souffle was outstanding but the black cherry "gateaux" was almost inedible owing to the white shell which did not pair with the rest of the dish at all.
Service was on the whole high standard but this was soured towards the end of the meal since staff took umbridge to feedback on low standard of one of the desserts, the waitress claiming "she didn't take complaints" and the Maitre D claiming I simply didn't like the dish. I found this to be a little self absorbed opinion of the resteraunt's quality, and a little insulting (both I and other guest couldn't stomach more than a bite of the gateux and have eaten at over 100 Michlain stared resteraunts between us and so we know the difference between not liking something and an objectively bad dish. Typically I wouldn't expect to be charged for that dish after that - but we let it slide due to post covid impact on resterauntiers generally.
All in all this is almost an excellent resteraunts but the staff need to be a little more humble. They are on the cusp of brilliance but need to keep their eyes on the ball to have guests delighted by the whole menu offering.
We had a very enjoyable lunch the food and service were excellent, would recommend it.
Very friendly service and excellent food . The pork belly was absolutely delicious .
Would thoroughly recommend. 5 stars on all counts.
Excellent Sunday lunch. The food was very good indeed, with fresh ingredients. Also the menu was innovative. A shame there was no set menu, worked out at about £45 a head for three courses. Great service.
Very nice food new English used to be tapas based. I had the hake and my wife the lamb
Friendly, professional, competent, confident, attentive and will go again
Food first rate, service excellent. Friendly and classy.
Sublime cooking , service , we were made to feel so welcome by all of the staff and it was one of the most memorable meals we have ever had for all the right reasons
Excellent service, delicious food & polite knowledgable staff in a clean and very nice environment. What more could you ask for.
Not sure there is a nicer place in Ashford.
Thank you 😊
Lovely food, beautifully presented. The cocktail and Spanish beer we drank were great. Brilliant service.
Quality fresh food, good range to select from and courteous service. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful special occasion lunch here. The good was incredible. The service was also wonderful. Highly recommended.
From a warm welcome to excellent service the very good food exceeded our expectations. Especially good were the crab raviola, the hake and both passion fruit soufflé and baked cheesecake. The latter was described as the lightest and best baked cheesecake ever.
