Can not fault food or service, we would not hesitate to go back!
We had a wonderful lunch. Drinks, food and service was brilliant.
Expected great things but left a little disappointed.
I’m happy to pay high prices when the product is top quality but I’m afraid my main dish wasn’t the best. I went for the Cod (with swede, oyster mushroom, little bit of kale and separate drizzle for me to pour over dish). I know cod isn’t usually the most flavoursome of fish but I felt the whole combination of the dish was very badly put together. Nothing complemented the fish, and the dish was just generally very bland. For £26 that is VERY disappointing. Doubtful I’ll be rushing back sadly.
My mum enjoyed her main (cauliflower steak V), and partner and father both had the Fillet of Beef. They enjoyed but agreed improvements could be made for a dish priced at £35.
The service was great, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Definitely gave the impression of fine dining....‘cept what was on my plate.
Had an excellent meal, the food wine and service were perfect. Definitely the best meal we had in Kent.
Attended as a party of four for lunch. The staff were really attentive and we were warmly greeted. The food will speak for itself, you will not be disappointed. A really relaxed atmosphere and coping well with all Covid restrictions.
We had a lovely meal and stay. the staff were very helpful and wanted to insure our stay was all that what we wanted.
Both myself and my wife though two of the dishes were slightly salted, but as we both like salt it did not spoil our meal. the two dishes was the starter Ox Cheek and the main course that I had was the Plaice were the creamed posses were a bit over seasoned.
Excellent food, good choice on menu, well presented friendly service and all in very pleasant relaxed manner and surroundings.
Great! We had an excellent meal, all dishes were original and well thought through. Staff friendly and available throughout.
Delicious food, friendly, unobtrusive service and a lovely atmosphere. Couldn't have been better!
Our first time at WoB for 18yrs!!! Wow, great and welcoming reception, very instructive which is what u need in these difficult times, relaxed dining, great wine choice and the food was outstanding! The flavours each course presented were so fresh and vibrant it just confirmed out choice to come and celebrate 47 years of married life! Thank you WoB we will be back!
Superb food yet again, Michelin standard great sunday lunch
Haven't been for a while but was impressed by the food quality, the really good service.
Sadly the wine list is smaller! Our only comment was that the sauce with our meal was very salty!
The food was delicious. The staff made the booking they went above and beyond.
This is simply one of the best meals I have ever had.
Have been to Rocksalt a number of times including Christmas Day and the food was as good.
Considering we are still wrapped up in all that is negative with COVID this restaurant did not let its standards slip at all!
Staff were awesome, have never had more attentive and considerate service in any restaurant or hotel.
As expected the food was superb and the service was courteous and we felt very safe.
Our guests who were new to this restaurant announced that we must do it again.
It was a special venue and for us a very special evening.Thank you.
Just simply amazing . The staff were spot on, food was to die for.
Excellent all round as usual. Friendly staff, really good food - not too much, not too little. Covid conscious so menu is reduced but still a good choice of meat and veggi dishes, puddings imaginative, delicious. Really good experience.
Excellent meal. The lamb was outstanding and service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Wonderful service, excellent food. Could not fault anything. Cannot wait to return.
I was really disappointed with the food at the Wife of Bath. The location, decor and service were all excellent but the food was too salty. Some could say this is down to personal preference but the starters and mains my wife and I had were too heavily salted and they all tasted of the same smoke. We only ate the meals because leaving it would be a huge waste of money and we didn't feel comfortable complaining.
Light, airy restaurant, comfy chairs, friendly, helpful staff, interesting art work and very attractive serving plates and dishes. Loved the warm sourdough served with delicious butter and smoky cods roe in a theatrical presentation. Fun and unexpected. Menu was interesting and reasonable choices. We had soused mackerel and cucumber with almonds with a buttermilk Dressing on the side. Quite tasty. Plaice for mains but feel it was overdone with too many capers and black butter which smothered the delicacy of the fish. Very meaty so nice to eat but I prefer mine just with a little seasoning and butter. Whole small new potatoes on the side and that was it. I feel some leeks or fennel would have made a welcome addition as I didn’t particularly want potatoes. No puddings just a cup of delicious coffee and two squares of dark chocolate ganache which was lovely. A very nice lunch starting off with a glass of excellent house champagne and my husband tried a glass of white burgundy (£17!) we enjoyed it and the price was ok. I was very pleased not to be competing with ‘music interruptus’. We would go back.
Attentive and friendly staff - who, for obvious reasons, kept their distance. Food was excellent, as was the ambiance. Definitely a 'go to' for a special occasion.
Situated in the beautiful Kent countryside, The Wife of Bath is perfectly located in the village of Wye. We were welcomed very warmly at the restaurant and were given clear instructions how to 'stay safe' during these difficult times. Service was very prompt and polite. We received a beautifully presented meal full of amazing textures and flavours. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Delicious food, staff very friendly and attentive. Would visit again
Stunning food, brilliantly cooked. Would absolutely recommend.
We had the lunch time menu which was a very limited menu-not a lot to choose from.
We had the belly of pork and the cod which were both presented well but very salty.
Hope to revisit soon and try the evening menu.
First class food and service. Definitely well worth a visit for those who appreciate great cooking.
Having not been to this lovely spot for over a year, we were concerned that it might not be so good this time. Our concerns were not justified and we had an excellent dinner - beauftifully served and cooked.
Lovely evening meal with great service and amazing food. Highly recommend. We loved it so much that we have booked again for a few weeks time.
The restaurant uses fresh locally-sourced ingredients. The food was gorgeous and was presented beautifully. The waiting staff are welcoming, friendly & efficient. We would definitely recommend eating here.
We had a delicious mid-week dinner in The Wife of Bath. We would highly recommend and we will definitely go back.
This is an excellent restaurant with very attentive staff and delicious food. Tables are well spaced out, and there is a small pleasant garden area where food will be served on request. Not cheap but still good value. Will definitely go again.

Initially tried to book at Rocksalt but were fully booked so tried this one instead as it’s in the same group
Service was poor, asked for jack Daniels when we sat down at the table which they didn’t have, but for some reason we were then offered various rums as an alternative, then took 2 waitresses to work out what Jim Beam was (2 different types were visible to me even from my table) ended up waiting over 10 mins for drinks, the starter was delicious (Beef with dripping toast), the mash with our cote de boeuf resembled “smash” in looks and taste, the fat on the beef was a huge amount and not cooked to the point where it was in any way edible, so a lot of waste, and my starter (ganache) was rock solid and needed a knife to carve it, £161 total for a meal for 2 which we came away from feeling a little deflated, lovely looking place and atmosphere, except for the guy sitting at the window with his partner, yet spent most of his meal staring at my partners legs under the table but not much that could’ve been done about that without a scene being caused.
Unfortunately I doubt we shall return :(
Very limited menu due to pandemic I think, but extremely limited for vegetarians and nothing vegan. No sides were offered which I found odd. The service was excellent and the atmosphere good. Whilst the food was interesting and tasty we thought it was overpriced.
Elegant and friendly. A perfect place to have a very special lunch.
Excellent food and service. Could not be faulted
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Not only was the food superb but the service was excellent - always very attentive without being obtrusive.
Good quality food, excellently cooked and presented. It is on the high side for cost but all in all an enjoyable experience and would certainly dine there again.
We had Cote de boeuf which was share at £85. Delicious but very expensive £65 would have been a better price. Also, our table of 4 paid £34.5 service which was discretionary admittedly. A bit too much. However, we enjoyed the evening and will be returning.
