Excellent all round and we have never had a bad experience there.
Brilliant food and service. Appalling noise level noted by us and two other tables which made us leave early. A shame.
Excellent food with friendly staff and good service.
Food was excellent and the service even better. Highly recommended
All the dishes we had were very tasty and finely prepared. Great attention to detail . The service was also very attentive.
We brought some friends with us for lunch. They had never eaten at the Wife of Bath. They were very impressed. The food and presentation was excellent, as it always is. I have never had a bad, or even average experience at this restaurant. It is always fantastic.
We had such a nice afternoon in your restaurant. The food was lovely and the space is beautiful. The starter was a little small for the price. Would be great to add a roast to the vegan menu!
Thank you for a lovely lunch :)
Overall it is worth a visit. Food is good and the service from waiting staff was friendly. Car park is a little small for the number of potential guests - we could not get a space. The entry is a little awkward; the inner door open in to a narrow hallway. The staff use a 'till' on a cupboard in the hallway and have their back towards guests as they walk in. This is not a very friendly set-up - especially as there does not seem to be any hurry in greeting people as they arrive.
Lovely, relaxed, informal setting. Great menu options. A La Carte, 5 course or 8 course tasting. Very reasonable wine list and wide options by the glass as well as carafes. Really friendly and attentive service. A great night. Thank you.
Our 3rd or 4th visit. As before, the quality of the food was outstanding across all 3 courses. Service was once again excellent from very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Ample choice of menus. House wine very good and reasonably priced. To close the meal, excellent coffee with home made fudge to accompany it. Ambience most acceptable even if the large party in the other room were at times a little noisy! A definite plus point continues to be the private parking area immediately behind the building.
An excellent meal. Superb staff, great wine list and value for money
Excellent food and impeccable service. Would be very happy to return and to recommend to others
We had the most delicious dinner here from the 3 course menu to celebrate a birthday. The wine is also reasonably priced and very good. We were staying over in the hotel so also had the pleasure of the most amazing Spanish breakfast the next morning - perfect!
Excellent food. The set lunch menu was very good value. Would have liked the steak to have been served with some small seasoned potatoes.
Fantastic birthday lunch for my wife. Recommend the tasting menu. Chocolate tart...wow
Really enjoyed most of the food but the steaks are over rated and over priced . Also the manager needs to develop their ability to come up with solutions when guests give feedback . In my business the customer is always right .
When you are asked ie if the steak was ok and the feedback was fine / no answer it’s a clear indication that things are not quiet right - also when with friends you don’t want to cause a scene / wait another hour for food to come back out .
This small element of our experience ruined the whole night . When spending over £600 I feel it should be perfect .......
Been promising a visit for some time as we've been to sister restaurant Rocksalt numerous times.
Very impressed on all levels. Service is excellent, food is of a very high quality with a broad menu and the setting is very pleasing indeed.
Overall a very nice experience.
The food was quite superb. I have no hesitation in recommending The Wife of Bath to anyone.
Excellent food and a very enjoyable experience. I went with a work function and will be going back with my husband.
First class food for lunch. Service was great. Lovely decor
Good restaurant with quality food, but no outstanding dishes. 5 course Tasting menu is very good value at £80. Only downside was the long wait between each course.
Amazing food and service.
We had the 5 course taster menu with the flight of wines and it was delicious. The wines accompanying each course we spot on and complimented the food perfectly.
Couldn't ask for more amiable staff. My friend was running late for our booking which was already at the end of lunch service at 2.30. We were never rushed and enjoyed a relaxing couple of hours with lovely food at tremendously good value on their lunch set menu.....do leave room for the chocolate tart...rich dark and ever so slightly salty...delicious!
Food was excellent as was the service and all else. Couldn't fault it.
Enjoyed 8 course Tasting Menu with paired wines. Food was superb as were the wines and the service outstanding. Probably our fourth visit to this restaurant and highly recommended.
Very attentive service and lovely food. Recommended for a good evening out
I booked The Wife of Bath for my partner's birthday during a weekend break as the previous reviews were so good. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived, the service was spot-on without being irratating. We chose the 5 course taster menu which was delicious and for someone who is not a "pudding-person", the chocolate torte was stunning. Well worthy of it's 5* rating!
A wonderful oasis in a busy life.
Very enjoyable, excellent service, reasonably priced wine list with plenty of wines by the glass and 500cl carafe which seems a sensible size. The promised northern Spanish influence wasn’t particularly evident in the menu which was a little disappointing but a high standard of cooking and presentation.
Excellent Spanish food in a beautiful location - a really hidden gem and we will definitely go again
Staff were brilliant and food first class.
Thanks to all.
Delicious food. Lunch set menu is great value. Really friendly staff too.
A really enjoyable lunch. Excellent food, wine and charming service. Highly recommended
London’s best quality type food in the middle of Kent ...
Not about quantity, all bout quality and taste.
Look, let's keep this simple, it is a great restaurant, with great food, and great people, so friendly, always look forward to going back. I live just a few miles away and feel blessed that we have this much talent on our door step.
We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was a real experience. Staff was very professional, knowledgable and friendly. Each serving was explained and the accompanying wines were presented with an in depth story of their origin and why it was paired with the dish. Food was outstanding.
Fantastic place for a meal. Everything was absolutely wonderful.
Went for a celebration Sunday lunch 3 hungry men 1 lady. The duck roast potatoes were a huge disappointment .. not crunchy at all ... that’s NOT how you serve roast potatoes with a nearly half empty restaurant .. the rest of the meals were fine .. service very good , but let down hugely by potatoes.
Amazing meal amazing staff
Beautiful food.worth every penny.
This is a very pleasant restaurant in a charming small town. The food was good and well conceived in a "Spanish" theme and the service was competent and pleasant.
