The prawn starter was superb, the mains roast dinner poor. a quarter cabbage practically raw ( and we don`t mind vegetables with a `bite`) an unglazed carrot, unsalted roast potatoes that needed probably another 20 minutes to actually roast them as rather pale, soft and insipid. However, the beef was excellent as was the gravy. The whole meal was tepid. The price we paid for a three course meal, two glasses of wine and a small port was excessive and Reads of Faversham offers far better value and quality for the same sort of price. A small point, lovely linen napkins but no linen tablecloths and we had a very wobbly table. Attention to detail is all when you are going to a `good restaurant`. I do not approve of a service charge as tipping the staff should be the customers decision. The anniversary ice cream plate was a nice touch.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here with a fabulous stay and meal. We had the tasting menu and each course was so good that it is hard to pick a favourite. Although I have to say the bitter chocolate tart with sea salt and olive oil was something special especially with some Pedro Ximenez - and I don't even normally like chocolate desserts.

Every single staff member we met was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

We would thoroughly recommend The Wife of Bath and we will definitely go back.

Love going to this restaraunt, always welcoming, great buzz with a good mix of age groups, food is excellent and varied menu, there must be something to please most people.
Wine list is good with a range of prices to please most pockets.

The waitress was really helpful. Despite the restaurant being really full, the service was very good and we did not have to wait for courses. The food was excellent.
We had quite a large round table for four, and it became hard to hear conversations across the table over the general noise of the restaurant.

I have eaten at the Wife of Bath over the years and somehow it never works as a restaurant. One of the downsides is when a restaurant is operated by staff and not the owner it never works. There has to be personal interest and commitment for a restaurant to be successful. I eat at restaurants from Glasgow to France and in all cases the best restaurants are those where the owner is present. Just two to name The Gamba in Glasgow and the Saint Angelo in Wetherby. They are brilliant restaurants serving wonderful food at reasonable prices. In Le Touquet where we had just travelled from a basic restaurant in the centre of Town served the most beautiful cheese and wine for a cheaper price than W of B. I hope that the W of B works but it may not. The owner needs to ask people who frequented the Duke William in Ickham when Carol and Mac ran it how to run a successful restaurant.

Food superb, really enjoyable. Staff were friendly and very helpful, but for us with 7yo's the service was far too slow. Staff seemed impervious to our obvious impatience.

If it had been all adults the pace would have been very good.

We enjoyed our meal very much at the Wife of Bath and had difficulty choosing from the menu as there were so many things we wanted.
Service was good from the young lady on duty, who was also very cheerful and had good knowledge of the menu.
Downside was that we were the only people dining in the restaurant for the 90 minutes we were there,so lacked a bit of atmosphere, will return, but not on a wednesday lunch time.
Sort the music out.

Really enjoyed my first visit to the wife of bath , staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top. Food was fantastic I opted from the Sunday lunch menu and was not disappointed with my croquet to start and the empanada for my main was excellent making an alternative to a roast, my wife had the prawns and then the monkfish from the a la carte which again must've been good as they were gone before I could try.. definitely will return and recommend to people I like!

Very friendly and excellent but not intrusive service. Interesting menu, well cooked and presented with some lovely little surprises.
The downside was the room was rather too dark and a very hard chair. No cushion available.

Would recommend.

We had the 8 course tasting menu and all courses were extremely delicious. The wine list was reasonable we didn’t have the wines to match each course because of driving home afterwards.
The restaurant was very quiet for a Thursday lunchtime so no atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and service was excellent.

Celebrating our Wedding anniversary we chose to dine at The Wife Of Bath in the little quaint village of Wye.
Having already eaten at the Duke William of Ickham some weeks prior and Rock Salt we decided to try another in the list of Mark Sargents restaurants.

We were not disappointed - the service the food and decor was impressive.
Casual but refined decor with subtle hints to reflect its Spanish theme.
The food was full of flavour with a wide range of wines and drinks to choose from.
Would love to come back and work our way through the menu such choice - will be back for sure.

The car park was very handy too for diners as it was a busy day in the village so parking was limited.

Quite simply could not be bettered.

The food was tasteful, imaginative and well presented. The service was top notch.

Two of our party were long established vegetarians who commented that this was one of the very best meals ever.

Thank you so much Wife of Bath, we will be back SOON!

You have to love the Wife of Bath, I remember when it was pretentious and over the top, with staff standing beside you as you ate...but the new owners are wonderful, refreshing Spanish theme, exciting menus, the flavours are amazing, the staff are fun and engaging, please do not be afraid to talk to them, they are very nice people, who want you to enjoy you're experience, ask questions about the food they are very helpful. Great wine list, recommend 2016 Malbec. We will be back soon.

Unfortunately there were a number of very loud groups which I understand is difficult to manage, but my mother is partially deaf which made it very difficult for her. As always the food and staff were excellent, but I think the menu could do with a refresh as there were quite a few items I had already tried last time we visited in October 2018 still on the menu.
