The Wild Flower Bar & Dining at Bells at Killcare
Great location, fabulous interior and beautiful food
A wonderful meal with excellent service. Thank you very much
Great new menu and more relaxed style. Wine list is still second to none with great help form the staff choosing a wine or two. Looking forward to my next visit.
Fabulous quiet accommodation, location, superb staff front desk including drop off and pick up on bush/coastal walks and very good food and wine !
Have been a regular and happy customer at Bells for many years.
This was a shocker.
Slow service in spite of reduced patrons.
Drinks were good
Overlapping service by waiters was disconcerting
Limited Entree's and overwhelmed with chili
Main was slow coming and nearly cold.
Bouillabaisse was thin on content.
Even though I advised them I was Coeliac 3 times I was still given flour based addons.
Gelati (strawberry) was great.
Overall so poor I suspect we are unlikely to return.
All dishes great but fried chicken very dry and tasteless Should have sent it back Gnocci excellent Sirloin great Wine list good
Beautiful place, amazing dining experience.
Food was fantastic and knowledgeable staff.
I will be back for sure 🤩.
Exceptional service from Murray, he looked after us so well and was an all round top guy!Made our special occasion all the more special
We loved our experience! Really wonderful service. Friendly, attentive & knowledgeable staff and the food/drink was fantastic. The only negative was that it was a little cold in the room.
Gorgeous atmosphere, elegant style and beautiful food.
After a spectacular locals night in Dec 2019 we couldn't wait to have our next sampling of this menu and were bitterly disappointed to find that the menu structure had changed from a choice of 2 courses of entree and main to table d'hotel with a single choice. Far from the previous delicious meal we enjoyed last year, a very poor effort at a classic french dish arrived to our dismay. Sadly we won't be back soon.
Best meal we've had at Bells, and there have been many. Waiters have superb knowledge of the menu and the wine list. Food is great. Beautiful room, and that view from the verandah...
Beautiful location and lovely decor. Food was very good and service great (thanks Monique). Felt we were somewhere special.
Great food friendly staff all hail to the chef..
Warm clean professional setting and on the surface all is well - in control.
But lacked touches that is what is expected when you dine at Bells.
On arrival, I went to the ordered drinks, felt a bit poky for space, I said was going outside to enjoy the garden, 10 minutes we went back inside - there was are drinks, what I expected was the Bells experience of the drinks brought out to us. I was seat in front of the cashier, lot of staff around that point could not relax.
I am greatful we have a Bells on the Coast, happy to pay 300 to 500 for 2 people - these small touch of class dinning will make a frequent guest. When I took care the the bill, I expected the manager to say thank you hope to see again - he said "all good". All class at the Bells.
The Noise was very loud, so for a romantic dinner go somewhere else! The food was excellent but what a poor room a have dinner. I asked for another option but unfortunaltely the staff did nothing. Disapointing!
Went here with the hubby for a dinner date. It’s a nice place with a great ambiance and is worth the drive. However, We find the pricing a little bit expensive for its serving size.
Good value Fish Friday lunch. Only comment from table of six was that we would all prefer fatter chips or wedges and the shoestring chips were a bit over cooked and crunchy. Needed the contrast of texture with the crunchy fish which was delicious.
Whilst there were a few things I would have liked to have happened, I still feel every category deserves a 5. My review would not be perfection, but it wouldn’t be 4/5 either.
Since I am French I noted that the bouillabaisse and cassoulet did not have authentic French flavour and I wasn’t able to hear any music but we did enjoy our experience as the service and atmosphere were excellent. My wife particularly enjoyed her cocktail!
We attended The Wild Flower Bar and Grill recently for the first time. We really enjoyed the experience. The food was beautiful and the were fantastic. Our waiter was fantastic and had a great knowledge of the produce used in the meal. Overall we really enjoyed our meal an would highly recommend it. And the chocolate mousse was out of this world.
It was our first time dining at bells and we were highly impressed. The food was delicious and the service was beyond excellent. I believe the price was great for what we got. Highly recommended
Setting very nice, on this occassion it was a very wet day, the restaurant was closed up, I don't know if it is normally, but it was very noisy inside.
The food was delicious, not overly priced considering the location, and a good amount on the plate.
Waiters didn't refill the water glasses, we had to ask - that would be my only complaint.
Service was impeccable, food was sensational. The server was so respectful and never interrupted us but was always there when we needed him, and gave well thought out advice when asked. He also took extra care to explain everything to my partner to cater for his allergy and made us feel very secure that there would be no wheat allergens in the food, which made for a very relaxing meal. The starters, sides, mains, desserts and wines were all perfect and well worth the cost. I was delighted to find a high quality restaurant with no pretentiousness, just quality food and service. Can't wait to come again, the whole experience was absolutely brilliant.
We felt the new menu did not appeal to us. And the plate of the day was too limiting. We probably won’t return which is such a shame as have been coming here for years.
The food was amazing, and our waiter was just wonderful, all in a beautiful garden setting. I would definitely return!
We have eaten at Bells many times and loved it. On this last visit we found that the restaurant has completely changed. The food has become more simple - or as they put it 'modern'. We missed the fresh herbs and flowers from the garden adding to each plate. It used to be that every plate was a work of art as well as being incredibly delicious. We did the degustation and actually left hungry. Previously we would have left stuffed full. We did not get our moneys worth in food or experience. Our waitress was wonderful. But the food was very disappointing.
The meals my husband and I ordered were terrific and the restaurant retains its casual, fine dining feel. However our guests, a coeliac and a vegan, felt their choices were a little too limited and gluten free pasta was undercooked.
The food was fantastic, No table clothes on tables the restaurant has lost its special appeal, too casual dining for the price you pay. Menu is too simple has lost the special class of the previous head chef. Wait staff are no busy trying to look special with service, but just look like they have no idea how to service special dishes. Best to just service the dishes as they come and not try to be something that you are not capable of being a special waiter from Italy or Florence.
I used to love this place for over the last 10 years, I feel it has lost that special dinner appeal.
The revamp of the restaurant at Bells is subtle but the refresh is welcome. Indeed, I struggled to pick out what the changes were as the setup is essentially the same, but it is a lovely eating environment.
The menu is still sophisticated but generally more accessible than the previous version and lower cost (although the entrees need some variety as they were almost exclusively fish/seafood).
Our waiter was terrific. Helpful and always there when needed but discrete when not.
We used to go to Bells two or three times a year for special occasions given how expensive it was but with the new lower cost menu, I think we’ll be there more often.
Great food / slow service / ran out of chips ! Entrees pasta and steak fantastic magnificent scampi for entree and absolutely perfect oysters - a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed lunch
We were very disappointed with our dinner at Bells. The food was forgettable and boring. These days great tasting food is a base requirement. Where a the innovation? Where is the flare? Serving up protein with side salads and fries is basic pub grub. Come on Bells, you can do better.
Food was quite good but over priced. Service was awful, slow and not at all helpful Overall massively disappointing.
We had booked Bells hoping for the usual experience. Prices are now lower but the food equals the price. Some of our food was really great but the whiting was average. Service was ok but staff weren’t as knowledgeable as they have been
We arrived for dinner at 6.30 and had our order in before 7. The waitstaff were friendly and the sommelier was knowledgeable and chose us a great wine.....but...when our main meals didn’t come an hour after we finished our entrees, the waitstaff were dismissive and unapologetic. 9pm was too late.
The meals were quite small. Delicious, but too small for the price.
All in all, a disappointing experience for a place that promises excellence.
It’s great to create a relaxed, slow-paced atmosphere, but you MUST do it without wasting people’s time.
Food was nice but had higher expectations. Lovely setting.
I took my wife & family there for my wife's 50th birthday. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement.
In advance we ordered the degustation menu, but the food that arrived was very average. The service was also exceptionally slow - we had to wait for an hour in between one of the courses.
When I discussed this with the restaurant manager at the end of the evening he said it was because they had a new chef who was 'experimenting' with the menu. I replied he shouldn't be experimenting when I am paying the bill and it was very embarrassing when I had guests there from Hong Kong and interstate.
I would definitely NOT recommend going there. For the price we paid it was exceedingly average :(
Drove up from Sydney for a lovely Sunday lunch and it measured up to our expectation.
Relaxing atmosphere with great food and wine to match. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a host ,who made us feel comfortable in a lounge area.
Then we were lead to our table, waiter introduced himself and immediately brought us water.
Then wine and food orders were taken and also included reccomedations by the waiter.
We were promptly served our entree's which were delicious.
The main courses were also tasty.
After a brief time ,we received our desserts, which were delectable.
During our lunch, our water and wine were topped up.
The whole experience was wonderful and we will be returning and possibly take advantage of the accomodation.
A fantastic setting for what proved to be a memorable night. Great food, broad selection of wines and attentive staff. Our first visit and doubt it will be our last.
Great place and food was good, however I don’t like ordering a steak and just get a steak, I feel it should come with at lest a vegetable, the sides we had were nice and the dessert good
