Due to current restrictions The Willow Tree have managed to make our evening enjoyable.
Celebrated our daughter’s 18th on the veranda. It was lovely! The service was good and food delicious.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. My partner, who previously knew nothing of The Willow Tree, was absolutely delighted and enchanted by the garden setting - wants to return in the evening for extra ambience. We both also enjoyed our meals very much.
Service was slow, and the staff, bar one lovely lady who was smiley, polite and warm. The main lady was not welcoming at all, and when we left they were all sitting around the table having a drink and didn’t acknowledge us leaving. Not the friendliest!
Food was fine, not mind blowing but good enough. Atmosphere was lovely, very pretty with the fairy lights
Inside not open and no info at time of booking
No lunch menu again no info reduced menu
We were seated under cover with outdoor heating, perfect. As the night wore on w had a beautiful view of the garden all lit up. The garden was very pretty.
The staff were attentive and very friendly.
Food was brought promptly, everything was delicious. The pizzas are huge.
Arrived to be told half the menu was unavailable although was accommodating due to special needs. Had to have the water changed as jug was dirty on the inside. Long wait for service. Setting is lovely and they are refurbishing in September. Deck was in need of attention and chairs are in need of replacement.
Shame as used to really enjoy this restaurant.
Starter was amazing! Main course was burnt and dry! Didn’t feel very welcoming.
Everything is great, the food is absolutely delicious, people are really nice. The staff just need to be faster (order taking, getting the checks etc.) an overall nice and cozy experience.
It’s a nice setting, unfortunately we weren’t able to sit under the willow tree or by the lake as there was a comedy evening on, but sat on the terrace which was very nice. The pizzas were good, the starters weren’t as well presented as you’d expect, but tasted nice. The waitress was really lovely and helpful. It was priced well on the eat out to help out scheme but not sure I’d pay full price.. still, we had a lovely evening.
Warm welcome on arrival, was very apparent after awhile that the staff were unprepared for the bookings.
Poor service and hugely overpriced.
We had a Sunday roast. The choice of starters and desserts didn't appeal to any of us very much and although the desserts were OK, the presentation was a bit strange. Main course was good, but could have done with a little more on my plate. Overall it was good, but not outstanding. Appreciate that these are difficult times for a restaurant and I think they dealt with COVID19 very well, we felt safe and protected.
Food was just ok, I had expected it to be a much better experience. 1 of our table had lamb it was very fatty. Small cans of ciders and beer £5 per tin, this is extortionate. Dining was on terrace this was certainly not a socially distanced experience, tables not spread out enough, too many people eating at same time. Very disappointed
Very busy and so the service was not good and the beer we wanted had run out, so had one of the meals and the menu is a already restricted. But! it was on the deal night and the place was lovely. All our other visits there have always been good and so will go back.
The quality of the food was outstanding, presented to a high standard, choices on the wine list were very good.we chose a savingon blac which is not one of my favourites, but I thoroughly enjoyed it dessert was to die for ,the chocolate ganache was outstanding crumble.
Lovely afternoon tea sat underneath the willow tree. Great to see how the Willow Tree have adapted to keep everyone safe and secure.
This restaurant does NOT take OPENTABLE reservations. When we arrived, we had NO reservation. This is not the first time this has happened. You need to clean up your list and not mislead users to believe they are going somewhere with a reservation when one doesn't exist!!!!!
Slightly limited choice of dishes, perhaps to a smaller number of customers.
Great food. Cool experience in the pod.
Stock take is a little iffy at the moment. They ran out of a few drinks options whilst we were there. Somewhat understandable in the current climate
Good ambiance as always, service was pretty slow and disorganised. I can highly recommend the Pea Burrata, but the crab salad was disappointing due to a very small amount of crab.
First time out to eat since lock down with the family. Excellent service, great food and lovely ambiance.
Nice setting. Had booked the terrace and staff kindly accommodated our request to move into the meadow sunshine instead. Tasty roast beef and roast chicken meals. Prompt service. Water refilled and friendly staff all regularly checked on us. Very steep £5 for some bread to start, but thankful it was provided as was not on the menu. Lovely, helpful, chatty staff. Will be returning again soon. Would definitely recommend.
Only gripe is a staff member wearing gloves and handling glasses when serving. Would prefer to see regular hand washing rather than potential cross contamination via gloves. This seems to be true not only of this establishment and it would be more hygienic to see this practice changed everywhere.
Pizzas under the willow tree with two best friends, after a game of golf. Simply excellent.
Service was very good, drinks arrived promptly and food order taken. Pizzas were very good, only slight comment that the requested side of green salad although nice was a little small for three.
Afternoon tea, which several other tables were having looked excellent, will be back to sample in due course
Nice setting with outdoor only tables on a terrace. The food was lovely well presented and well cooked. The service was a struggle with very little organisation. There were long delays on getting served, receiving drinks, food and the bill which is a shame but hopefully as they adapt to a new way of working they will improve.
The garden is set up beautifully with table and chairs underneath a beautiful old shady tree. Very welcome on a hot and sunny day.
They are obviously taking safety during Covid very seriously, as they should. No menus but we downloaded them on our phones but a waiter still came round to take our orders, which was nice.
My starter of pig belly was tender but the skin was still like jelly, not crispy at all, so I had to leave that. My scone was overcooked but they cream they used was delicious.
From my experience it doesn't really stand up as a gastro pub. Perhaps I need to go back to give it another go.
Starting with the positives, the setting was lovely the restaurant has made a real effort to accommodate social distancing rules. The staff was lovely and the service was prompt, however all of the staff present was not familiarized with the current menu this included the manager. For the quality of food I felt like this restaurant was overpriced, after paying the bill we felt like we had been robbed. If they lowered their prices and if the staff payed better attention to the services they provide, I would of rated this restaurant higher and would return.
Lovely setting and attentive service but I found the food quality didn’t match the cost. Disappointing as I’ve been looking forward to the food.
Really fabulous location and the new domes look fabulous! Great menu and such a lovely setting.
Stunning place feels like a fairytale! Exceptional food and excellent children’s menu.
Music from the speaker definitely a bonus. Will visit again!
We booked a table but no table was reserved. They had our name on the system, but no table was allocated for us. They just told us to wait in the meadow. Waited 20 minutes to get seated on the decking after having to ask the waitress. They said they were short staffed. Has so much potential, was a shame.
Food was really good, seasonal and an absolute treat but it took us 45mins for someone to take our order and the three staff were rushed off their feet
Understaffed by a mile for the amount of guests. Ran out of several drinks, ordered side of chips, we’d all finished before they arrived, ordered 1 bottled beer, 1 mocktail 1 milkshake, he came back to say they only had the bottled beer no mocktail or milkshake, requested the bill, 10mins later we were asked if we’d ordered a bottle of beer, said yes but were now leaving. Not the dinner I was planning for my sons 18th!
Pleasant outside seating on the terrace. Our meal was very good, especially the starter & dessert. The service was excellent, attentive and prompt.
Not up to their usual standard. They got two of our orders wrong and the food was mediocre.
The drinks kept running out and they ran out of serviettes.
Beautiful sitting out in the garden for my mums birthday. Staff couldn't do enough for us kept bring out water when asked. Food was beautifully cooked and tasty, Afternoon tea's also looked very delicious.
I know they are trying with the new restrictions but....service was terrible, we waited 20 mins for a simple drinks order and then it was incorrect. No draft beer and only a small selecting of (warm) bottled beer is available. I had to approach 2 different staff to remind them of our order. The food was average and hardly anything left on the menu when we arrived at 1700 on Sunday! the kids food arrived without any cutlery and then had to wait. Not easy with two hungry kids. The staff seem disinterested and everything is an effort. I know that these are challenging times but to good service costs nothing...
We have eaten there in the past and service and food was good.
Food and atmosphere wonderful especially the music played into the garden and the lights wrapped on the trunk of the willow tree. I had a pizza from the pizza oven they cooked in the garden., a side dish of courgettes and potatoes with a wonderful dressing. Only reason I have not given it 5* is that I was stung quite badly by mosquitoes under the willow tree but would just use a spray next time or take citronella. Would not be put off as place was beautiful and service was amazing. Lots of tasty mocktails for the drivers.
Great food, lovely Atmosphere and good service. Felt a safe place to eat with all the new restrictions.
Nice ambience and food good and they are adjusting well to new system
