A truly inspirational wine destination venue that has a relaxed vibe but with quality at its heart. We believe that just as wine evolves in the bottle, so should our offering, and that is reflected in our ever-changing wine list. We are a place that will evolve and bring new flavours and experiences to the heart of Cambridge.

We don’t aim to have the largest wine list, but rather focus on interesting and niche wines, fine and rare bottles, and for those hard to find gems and with our flat rate corkage, the value for money is exceptional.

Similarly our small menu hopes to bring quality at a reasonable price, so a night of food and wine matching can be a regular treat.

Our seasoned sommeliers are there to guide your journey at each turn so whether it is an intimate evening for two, or a private event for 20+ in our cellar, it should be an experience to remember.

Staff were brilliant: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We had the fondue with meat platter, and our waitress gave us a taste of two wines she recommended as accompaniments, both of which were excellent choices. The cheese dip for the fondue was delicious, but the potatoes were over cooked, so they wouldn’t stay on the fondue forks. Given how simple it is to boil potatoes I cannot justify five stars for food. But I’d happily visit again

Focus these days is on the wine, with substantial snacks rather than meals on food front. Good selection of wines by the glass and bottle but real differentiators were (a) wine tasting boards - 3 glasses of Italian or 3 of Spanish for £13 - both interesting mix, and (b) the knowledge and enthusiasm of our excellent waitress.

We had a lovely evening and experience. The cheese fondue was delicious, the ambience was relatively quiet and the servers were helpful, informative and friendly. Our wine and beer were tasteful and an appreciated recommendation. This was a memorable dinner for us visiting Cambridge. We would just recommend that the bread for the fondue be soft and not hard toasted pieces and that there are some vegetables as well as potatoes ( which were delicious).

The Wine Rooms was exactly what we were looking for- some lovely glasses of wine complements by cheese and meat. The ambiance was ever so slightly off- perhaps a consideration of the level of light going from day to night. However we really enjoyed our meal as a date night!

Cheese fondue was amazing along with the olives and almonds to start. We had a bottle of Italian pink fizz. Moved onto a Malbec which The Wine Rooms recommended to compliment the meats and cheeses (often hard to match red wine with all cheeses) fantastic service, extensive knowledge regarding the wines they serve. Great passion for what they do, they deserve to succeed! We will back.

I would no longer think of the Wine Rooms as a dining option as there has been a shift from small plates to platters. It is however still the best place in Cambridge to enjoy a fantastic range of wines by the glass. Returning to the food, the Italian platter we had was delicious but it wasn't the meal we had expected and another table that had booked hoping to have dinner actually left without even stopping to enjoy a drink. We really like trying different wines and often travel to London restaurants that offer a large selection of high quality by the glass. I hope the Wine Rooms reconsiders and brings back the delicious small plates.

Although called the Wine Rooms and they do have a great choice of wines by the glass, and even more by the bottle. We should also mention the food which is always delicious. As the name implies food is not the main event but its always imaginative, and super tasty. All the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, they happily pair wines to food. This is what Cambridge has needed for a long time!

Outstanding as usual, especially the staff who's always attentive and helpful, and well prepared. My guests and I felt cuddled, and can't wait to be back. About the wines we had, special mention to the Orange Wine, which was a lovely surprise.

Lovely food as always. Found another good sparkling wine from Saffron Grange. Rather overwhelmed by the size of the pasta dishes but we were wise enough to stop early to leave room for a shared pear tart!

Great ambiance and service. We had pate and a 3-meat and a 3-cheese platter. We enjoyed sherry and a few) glasses of wine pairings recommended by our waiter. The staff was knowledgeable and didn't take themselves so seriously as to be pretentious. Good value. Highly recommend!

Small choice of small plates but high quality and cheese platter good value for sharing . Wines available to taste and a reasonable selection on menu . We went at 3 pm and it was quiet but when we left at 5.30 it was quite buzzy

what an excellent place! Good selection of interesting wines by the glass - including dessert wines, good sherry selection. Pricing starts at around £6 for a 125cl glass which is fair if not exactly a bargain. (The operation also sells wine by the bottle). But food was excellent and very good value. Don't be fooled by the "small plates" definition - the lovely "Rosemary And Sea Salt New Potatoes, Saffron Aioli" must have been about 30 small potatoes! and the portion of Spanakopita was twice the size I expected. Meatballs were delicious too. Ambience is very pleasant, service was charming, all in all a real find and a great addition to the Cambridge eating and drinking world.

What an absolutely delightful find. Lovely food and superb service. We took the head waiter's recomendation for food and the accompanying wine which were delicious. To finish we shared the three cheese platter which was plenty for two and decidedly tasty. We will return if we visit Cambridge again. As I was driving I had one small glass and we took the remaining half bottle back to our hotel. Simply stunning.
