Overall the meal was very good. The coconut shrimp however, were too heavily battered and overdone so they were dry and relatively tasteless without the dipping sauce.
It is unfortunate that the Woodlawn has been sold and the restaurant will close October 26th. We wish all the staff good luck in the future.
Absolutely amazing staff and food. Sad to see them close.
Great food and service.
1st time at this lovely restaurant, it was my birthday. It was nice to celebrate with only a few additions. (masks) LOL
My friends and I had a lovely time.
I hear the restaurant is closing. :( too bad I would have loved to go back.
We had a lovely dinner. it was delicious and service as always was perfect. it was great to dine out during this pandemic and not worry about anything. all protocols were respected and we felt no worries.
we have one more visit before it is sold.
I have always had a perfect dining experience at the Woodlawn for the 20 years I have patronized the restaurant.
With it closure this month, I encourage all the friends of the Woodlawn to have one last meal to thank Steven and his team.
We have been going to The Woodlawn for over 25 years. Has always been one of our favourite places to eat and to stay. We wish Stephen Dellacasa all the best in his future endeavours. He will be missed
I had a lovely dining experience with my friend but it was what I expected from Woodlawn. Beautiful environment, delicious food, and amazing service. I will miss this place!
The Woodland inn has been sold. Unfortunately, they might have had a good reputation, but as of now, they have decided to let go of anything that is close to good service, dining atmosphere and well prepared food.
We looked at a torn apart table covering during our whole dinner. The dining room lights were at full blast, no dining music. Covid was blamed for that. No such rule on the Ontario government web site.
So we would suggest to go somewhere else for dinner.
We had doubts when we sat down at our table. We should have simply gone elsewhere for diner.
My dinner was burnt. I asked our waitress "What was the chief thinking - sending out a burnt dinner? Was he hoping we wouldn't say anything?" It would have been better if he accepted his error, said there was an issue in the kitchen and our dinner would be a little late. Instead he sent it out and hoped we wouldn't say anything. Our waitress offered to replace my dinner. I said, if we were to do that, my wife would eat her dinner by herself and then when my second dinner arrived I would also eat my dinner by myself. She assured me that it would only be a few minutes - that someone else had ordered the same thing and I could have that meal. I said okay. Instead of arriving in a few minutes, it arrived 10 minutes later; after my wife had finished her meal. The meal came with carrots, potatoes and brussel sprouts. All of which were simply boiled. No spices, no sauce. We had to ask for salt and pepper. My wifes meal was over cooked to the point of being dry, but she ate it anyway. They deducted the cost of my meal off the bill. A routing gesture for this situation. We went there to have a nice meal to celebrate our 47th anniversary. Instead, if it wasn't the worst meal we've ever had, I can remember it. I'd say we'll never go back there again, but we were told the business was sold and would not return as an inn/restaurant in October 2020. If it were up to me, I would not have left a tip; however, my wife felt we should leave something for the waitress as the horrible meal was not her fault.
The food was fine. The interior was dated, in a much needed need of a decor update and upgrade as it does not match the image that is being programed on line.
This is a fantastic, quiet, intimate and lovely place to eat. The service and food were excellent. My caesar salad was forgotten somehow but it came when I prompted the server. At the end, for that reason, they didn't charge me for that item. Our whole experience was fantastic. We will be returning at the next opportunity.
Meals were delicious as usual. Great wine choices (as per Stephen DellaCasa) and the service was wonderful. Excellent protocols for social distancing. One of our favourite places.
The food and service was good. unfortunately we had to sit inside due to the intermittent rain. In all fairness because of COVID and being there on a Tuesday it was very quiet.
It’s a lovely place to spend a gateway. Great service, we love this boutique hotel and their restaurant.
Very good food. Wine is a bit expensive though. Great service!
My only complaint was the halibut dinner which was less than I would have expected. Halibut is a wonderful fish, flavourful and moist when it is fresh and well prepared. This was not the case.
On the other hand, my friend had the striploin steak which was excellent and fortunately quite large so he was able to share some of his steak with me.
On the whole I very much enjoyed the environment, the service, the peaceful setting. I would recommend you to a friend but warn them off ordering fish.
Quaint setting for an upscale casual dinner al fresco.
Great food. First time dining out since Covid. Their safety protocols are very good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience on the patio. Naomi was a great and attentive server and the food was delicious. We are already planning a return visit.
Always a treat. The meals have no comparison.... fresh, home made Italian delight. A true gem, always, always consistently good. Everyone cares...from the greeter, the server, the chef, the management. Mouthwatering is an understatement.
Always choose your location when I visit . We missed our fav server Michelle she wasn’t working that night. Food needs some work ???
We sat in the courtyard, it was quiet. Perhaps some light background music would have made it better.
Everything was awesome. From the greeting at the door, going over all the necessary covid rules, to the delicious food. Caesar salad was amazing!!! Will be back many times .. Thank You Paul and Patti
The meal was superb, the server was exemplary.
it was a treat to enjoy Fine Dinning again.
Great locale, great food and superb service! Good value all around.
This was a wonderful experience for a special occasion. Everything was first class.
Good food, good service, good price what more could one ask for.
It was a fantastic experience. The staff was hygienic and made us feel safe.
Service was very good and quite attentive. Main courses were excellent and very nicely presented. Deserts were very good as well. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
It was a really enjoyable experience with a lot of character. The service was great.
We really enjoyed eating on the back lawn....very nice atmosphere to celebrate our anniversary!
Great food, fresh and tasty, served in these difficult times graciously and with safety in mind in a lovely shaded garden. Caesar salad, schnitzel, and desserts all top notch.
Food was phenomenal! Can't wait to return for another meal!
We went for wine and an appetizer. Excellent choice of wine and very reasonably priced. The coconut shrimp were huge and delicious. A lovely way to spend the afternoon
Consistently excellent! No better restaurant in the area.
Great evening, great food and service. Really enjoyed night on patio.
It was a lovely Friday dinner for us. We had an Italian family dinner which came with house wine and eight courses of family cuisine. Dining room is spacious and comfortable, such a right place for fine food.
very nice place for date night, the food was outstanding with great service.
A wonderful dinner. Had not dined here in over 30 years. Food was excellent, staff were very friendly. We will be back again.
