The Woodlock Brasserie
The Woodlock Brasserie is about creating a personal, casual dining experience in a lively and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is cleverly spread over three sections, each with a subtly different look, feel and ambience .
Our award winning Executive Head Chef, Ciaran Cunningham has created a range of unique menus that explore rare culinary techniques to enhance your dining experience. These techniques include curing our own gravalax in a light treacle marinade to give our Atlantic salmon truly mouth-watering flavours. Dry Aging our beef in house for the optimum duration for your favourite cut, typically 28 days. Vapogrilling, a very unique method that locks the flavours in, whether your preference is scallops or seabass, all our seafood is delivered from the trawlers at Kilmore Quay and infused in a combination of garlic and our Chefs favourite herbs.
I am vegan and though there was not much choice what was there was delicious. Staff were great.
There was one waitress attending tables.
I found it was difficult to get the waitress's attention.
Too expensive for what type of food we were expecting for. The pictures let me think it was more refined.
Service was very poor, we were expecting 2 more people to come that didn’t show up so maybe that’s why nobody took our order , but we were sitting there for 45 mins before we had to call the waitress over ourselves for drink and food order. Food was average, we had burgers , salmon and one steak. Chairs very uncomfortable and table very low. We left a decent tip bit regretted straight away , as we said goodbye and thank you , the 2 waitresses didn’t even turn their heads and didn’t respond to us.
The food was nice, it was carvery. I would try again but would hope the service was better!
Very disappointing as food was cold and appeared to have been left sitting a while before service, eg. Cauliflower on halibut dish was soggy from the jus, we couldn't eat potatoes, as they were cold , waitress apologised took sides off bill. The bill still came to 82e which was ridiculously high for what we got and didn't enjoy .
Myself, Mam & 2 daughters one with special needs had dinner before Disney on ice Sunday gone.cannot recommend the Woodlock & Citywest staff , amazing on every level & food was delish. Definitely be back
Booked table for my son's communion meal before heading to Disney on ice on Saturday May 11th. Firstly we were 45 mins late and when we rang ahead it was no issue at all. All staff were extremely nice and helpful in particular Emmet who took time to go around and talk to the Communion children. Such a lovely touch to give a card and a smyths voucher to each child, loved that. All that said I was very disappointed with the food. It was overpriced for what it was and lacked freshness especially the side vegetables. It was late in the day and the Hotel was extremely busy with numerous events going on, not sure if this may have contributed to the quality of food.
Really great service. Went for my mums birthday and they really looked after her and made lots of effort to make her experience enjoyable. Food also delicious!
Booked a table for lunch based on their own website , then upon arrival discovered it was a carvery only and that there was no table service. Food was adequate but no more. Main restaurant was closed for a private function and wait staff were constantly moving between the kitchen and that room past our table as it was the shortest route for them. Poorly trained staff, no communication skills. Will not be back.
The food was very good and the service exceptional, however we sat down for dinner at 8pm and three of the main choices I was opting for had gone (Pork, Duck and Cod). It left very little other options but I did get the fillet steak and was cooked perfectly.
Very poor quality of food, starters out within minutes and they were very poor, main not any better. Apple nd Berry crumble was OK.
Although the food is good, the service itself is appalling. Waiting staff lack basic training. Our main courses arrived along with our starters and we waited over half an hour after ordering desert for it to arrive- when we were told one of the options was sold out.
A group of us 6 where their for our Christmas party. The place was buzzing, food great price not too bad... as it was Christmas I would have liked some Christmas crackers on the table..
Enjoying our meal until a football team arrived and stood at the bar literally directly beside our table drinking and started singing and shouting. More like a pub then a restaurant!very strange and couldn't wait to leave the place.
I was hoping for the Sunday roast on a board experience but got directed to the carvery. Carvery portions were a bit light for me and the group. Team weren’t too attentive to our additional orders and I felt the food was really for staff catering. The Nutella dessert cheesecake was very poor.
I recommend you review your menu selection poor for all ages
All excellent bar a poor wine menu. Staff also knew very little about the little wine they had!
Myself and my friends arrived for dinner on Saturday night last at 7.45 and we were left sitting there for 25 minutes before anyone arrived to take an order for food or drinks. Several items that were on the limited menu were finished even through it was only early evening. We waited another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive from a very flustered waitress and the food, which were main courses only, did not arrive until 9.00pm The staff appeared not to be trained at all and were under a lot of pressure. All in all it was not a pleasant experience and will not return.
I had the crab with gem hearts for starter. It was very disappointing. 2 tiny withered lettuce leaves. One was just the stump. I had steak for main. No steak knife given. It was ok. Desserts were nice but did not come as described on menu. Wouldn't recommend for a special night out. Vegetarian option was sad. One of our group had two sides because she is vegetarian.
I was not expecting a carvery . Food was overpriced for small portions.
We booked the table for our Grandma's 93rd Birthday without having idea that Disney on Ice was on the same day so pretty much over 1000 people in the venue.
We didn't get Sunday Lunch Menu as restaurant decided to have self-service carvery on the day.
Fully unaware of it walking into the restaurant got quiet shocked.
Straight away Manager was called over by member of staff and from then onwards things just got better.
Emmet (Manager) showed us to lovely table and looked after us with designated lovely waitress.
Grandma loved her Birthday celebration and we are all appreciated for that.
Thank you for that and we can't wait to go back.
Extremely poor service. Group of 7 people 4 were served and two more and the last one after everyoyelae was finished. The food was dry and tasteless poor service and very dirty surroundings
There was only a buffet available - no a la carte service - and at r servation time this was not communicated
Disney on Ice was on. If you have children this was ideal.
The manager on duty on the 9th Nov at 630 was excellent very welcoming and friendly, he was very chatty with the kids which always make a parent feel relaxed as it can be hard taking kids to nice restaurants, event if they are well behaved! the food was excellent with the house wine offering very good value for money too, I will be back!
Superb T-bone steak and the waiter working Saturday evening was extremely helpful.
Service was awful 2staff on a busy Friday night waited over an hour for mains when they came 2 of the meals were cold we didn't send back as we didn't have time to wait longer but I'm sure with better service n not been forgotten about food would have been really enjoyable so will try it again as I really liked the menu and our friends eat there regularly and enjoy .
We had booked for a Sunday family dinner to arrive and find a carvery lunch. The kids food was stone cold, we had to ask for hot chips for them, adults food was very poor which is a pity as we have had Sunday lunch there before and it was very good.
Had a very enjoyable evening, setting lovely. Met the chef on the night and complimented on the steak that we had which was excellent. Would return.
Gorgeous food great service very enjoyable would recommend
Unfortunately our Experience wasn’t very good
We didn’t get a choice of which afternoon tea we wanted
When it arrived there was items missing and as for what’s advertised on the menu we didn’t seem to have approx 50% of the items
I’ve had afternoon tea plenty of times and this is by far the worst value
Hate giving a bad review as I love Citywest hotel but issues need to be addressed
The room itself is beautiful and the staff are extremely attentive especially one guy (older) he was amazing
great service, very good steak and nice folks serving us
Service was very friendly and attentive. However, the food was not as expected, i had a set menu and paid the 5e supplement for a steak but this did not come with any side nor was i offered one. The pepper sauce with it was also very salty!! I feel this was very poor value. My partner had a burger and this was burnt too. The dessert was lovely though.
Lovely food and staff. Venue is lovely but massive not much atmosphere; however Perfect for a catch up friends. Perfect for a large group.
Good quality food and very hot. A little pricey though for the portion sizes.... unfortunately not many gluten free options at all and after stating they cater for gluten free I was left a little disappointed! The service was very slow, then my side order arrived wrong although they changed it very quickly for me but my daughters burger was also not as we ordered as they forgot the cheese. so she didn’t eat it - they offered to bring her a new one but the food took an hour to arrive the first time and by this time it was almost twenty to 9 so she was getting pretty tired and we refused another one. No refund on her main course was offered. We came here with really high expectations so even though the quality of our food was good, after taking everything into consideration we were left disappointed 😞
Absolutely love the woodlock brasserie!
Food is always amazing but I've heard from a few people now including my husband that the steak wasn't great ! So i think they should look into that! Other than that i cant fault it ! Fab !😗🥗🥗😗
We went to the Woodlock Citywest on 24.03.18 for my sons 21st birthday dinner. We had already reviewed the menu on the website and 3 of the 7 of us were going to order the surf and turf.
The waitress distributed a printout of a very very limited menu not at all what was on the website menu, there was no surf and turf on the menu.
When I asked where the proper menu was, I was told "that's all we have for tonight", no proper explanation as to why the menu was a fraction of what was on the website menu.
The chef advised he could do the surf and turf but when they came out, there were no prawns, so we sent them back, when they came back out, it was just sub standard, just a stake with a few prawns scattered beside it on the plate.
There were various other mistakes on our orders.
Its a shame because we had been to the woodlock several times before for lunch and both the service and food were superb!
Thanks & Regards, Jeff.
Was lovely but didnt like the table (1) beside the bar listening to staff chatting. Food was lovely service very nice. Didnt get bread all other tables around us seemed to but not big deal.
Wide ranging menu
Half of the starters came late to the table but the server apologised for the delay which made it ok. Very nice wine at an ok price
