Lovely meal to celebrate a belated Golden Wedding Anniversary. Thanks to the staff for setting up our table and hiding the surprise cake.
Food is lovely slightly expensive when eating as a family but worth it.
We had lovely waiting staff especially Ellie who was very busy and always kept us informed with our order.
We asked to move outside and the staff were really accommodating and lovely with the children.
The staff were so professional and friendly. Top quality customer service!
Didn’t have food only drinks. Drinks expensive could have been in Newcastle for a night out
Always a pleasure to come here. The service is impeccable, staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is amazing too, especially the crispy squid and home made pizzas. Would thoroughly recommend
A very nice lunch with good food and pleasant serving staff, will certainly recommend.
This was our first visit and won’t be our last! It was all lovely but the starters were amazing!
Lovely place great food staff very efficient and friendly, COVID safe will definitely be going back
Amazing as always and all of the staff who servered us were so lovely
Big fan! Always have been! Top food as ever! Great waiter as well who knew his stuff!
Table had a great view of the countryside. Service was just right. Food was delicious. Couldn’t eat it all so food boxes were provided. Absolutely lovely lunch - the first in such a long time.
Great food and service. Will defiantly be returning.
The food took quite a long time to come and the desserts even longer, however it did look quite busy inside so understandable! Love the outdoor seating and food was lovely
Lovely out door space, good food and great variety of drinks
Food was lovely and staff attentive , would recommend
Expected mire availability on the menu as lots of main dishes and sweets sold out.
There was a lot of the food sold out so menu was very small . Could have said when arriving at the venue about limited menu.
The girl who served us (sorry I did not catch her name, she had a pink ish fringe with her hair tied back) was absolutely lovely and so helpful and attentive. We were super surprised with how good the food was, I would definitely recommend the camembert! We will be visiting again soon and recommending to our friends :)
Wouldn’t allow us to order children’s meal separate as soon as possible e arrived despite the children being so hungry they were crying, this was because apparently it would confuse the kitchen too much if they put the kids meal then the others meal through later !!!!!
Place has went right down hill. Undercooked steak that was mushy and inedible. Over done veg that had clearly been laying out all day. Place used to be lovely but won't be returning
Sunday lunch was gorgeous. The service was excellent. Staff very friend and happy to help.lovely restaurant.
Food was, some of the worst we've had for Sunday lunch (partner) and fish and chips (me). Tasteless and very greasy. Pork loin had rings of anemic fat around the outside and veg was awful.
Shane as setting and surroundings are lovely
Would like to have had the option to sit outside when I made the booking.
Ordered drinks to then sit outside. Thought the drinks would be brought to us rather than us carrying hot drinks ourselves through the pub. Apart from that, really lovely experience
Amazing food and fantastic service. Stall on the ball with everything.
Good food, good service at a good price. A very popular restaurant, always busy.
The food was really nice, just a shame about the service.
Really slow, did not ask us if we would like any more drinks, I did not ask up if we would like dessert, a long time after out mains.
Absolutely amazing food and service! Best Sunday roast we have ever had! Definitely recommend to anyone!
Food was great but expensive, we only had a 🐟& chips 🍟& a pizza 🍕with one drink each & this was only Beer 🍺 & the cost was £40 +, hope this helps.
Food was very good and prompt however the service was lacking and the waitress we had was quite abrupt. She was quite rude and forceful when talking our orders and bringing the food. The poor service did take away from the lovely food and atmosphere sadly.
Incredible service and first rate food and drinks!
Various dishes were not available particularly on the dessert menu
Amazing food and service can’t wait to be back
Lovely afternoon/evening with friends staff tentative and friendly nothing was a problem.
Service was excellent. Setting beautiful and food was delicious. Highly recommend
Lovely staff, friendly atmosphere. Followed all Covid rules. We all had a lovely time.
I went for my birthday celebrations with my friends and had a wonderful time. The staff were so lovely and friendly and very attentive. Took our orders quickly no long waits and our waiter Aaron was exceptional. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely evening. We were shown to our table promptly and drinks orders taken. We were given the food menus shortly after. Service was good, friendly staff and food delicious.
Meals are not as good as when the woodmans first opened. The card payment should have been explained with all the different gratuities before I proceeded. Felt on the spot and pressed wrong button paying £16 for a tip the food didn't deserve this extra amount.
Wont be returning in the near future
We were regular visitors to the Woodmans pre-lockdown and supported their regular take away events throughout - as a couple and with the whole extended family - first time back since re-opening and apparently it’s under new ownership. Oh dear. Waited an eternity for drinks then even longer for our food. When the food did arrive, a medium-rare steak was incinerated and though promptly replaced two polite requests to speak to the manager about the wait and the state of the food were ignored.
The Woodmans might be a local pub but the food prices are such that a certain standard is expected - both on service and in quality. Sadly, it’s totally gone missing.
Footnote - our server was only on her second ever shift. Not only did she try her very best but she was woefully ill-supported by her employers. Good luck to her but much improvement needed elsewhere.
Food prices high for portion size, vegetarian options boring but other then this on a whole we enjoyed our meal.
