Lovely pub, good atmosphere, tables well spaced. Dogs allowed - big plus! Had lamb and beef roast Sunday lunch: all good except rather hard parsnips. Cauliflower cheese could have had cheese sauce browned under grill. But meat well cooked, medium rare and very tender. Very friendly, helpful staff. A very enjoyable experience.

We were visiting from Belgium, and wanted a cosy English pub for lunch, so used google, and found this one. It was lovely, very friendly service, excellent food, we did find it strange that 10% service was included, is that no longer for the customer to decide whether or not they want to leave a tip? The beer of course is another matter!! My husband chose a cellarhead flapjack stout. I know this is typical in England, no head and flat!! Living in Belgium we are used to beer with life in it, and a head, and some strength too. Myself (and I am English) never ever drink beer in England, unless it is an import!!! But apart from the beer, it was perfect.

This is our 7th time spending the night, so that shows how we feel about it here. It was our wedding anniversary and it was made really special for us. All the staff are really friendly and talkative. Looking forward to our stay in February.

I had pie of the day (chicken & mushroom) and I requested chips instead of mashed potato. The pie and spring greens were excellent and, while not cold, I would have preferred the chips to be a bit hotter. The Woolpack is a free house but at the time that we stayed there they had two Romney Marsh Brewery ales - I tried both and they were both excellent and well kept. We stayed the night (B&B) and so had breakfast as well. We both had the English and that also was excellent.

We were in a room on our own but we still felt in touch with the other areas of the restaurant. Everything was very good indeed and good value for money.

The food was wonderful, the service was super and the team treated us really well. We went as a special treat for my husband's birthday and we were really well looked after. My husband received a complimentary dessert with "Happy Birthday" written on the plate, which was a lovely touch! We had a wonderful lunch, thank you so much to everyone at "The Woolpack".

We were really looking forward to another lovely roast beef here but unfortunately it was no where near as good as the last visit. Although there was nothing actually wrong with the food it was however Luke warm and a lot less vegetables than previously, also my husbands beef was overcooked, we ate it and told the waitress who immediately offered us free desserts which was ver nice . Nobody came over whilst we were eating as is usual to ask of our meal was ok or we would have told them then . The staff were very nice and it was not their fault .

Great birthday meal. Our original table was surrounded by crying babies so the staff kindly moved us to a more quieter part of the restaurant. The meal was superb and the surprise birthday desert for my wife was lovely. Definitely eat there again.

Waited an hour from ordering to food being brought to the table - with no explanation or apology. I love this pub and go regularly so really disappointed as not the usual woolpack standard

The pub is a lovely old building. Outdoor seating but we were indoors. The main problem was the staff were in chaos. Either new or short staffed but endless and repeated errors from not being the drinks to trying to give desserts to the next t table who had only just arrived. Might be worth another visit once staffing is sorted. Food average, eg. pies were much the same as Pieminster but good fresh vegetables, though not all as hot as it should be

Such a lovely pub and location…shame about the poor service. Had to ask for menus twice…then waited 15mins for drinks to arrive…had to ask to place a food order as waited so long and kids were hungry! Wouldn’t say particularly friendly service…not sure I would revisit despite the loving the actual pub.

The Service was poor unless you knew someone that worked at the pub. We were told a meal, beef, was not available but was then offered to another table, who knew the waitress, after our order went in. We were later told the chef found a small portion after we’d ordered-this was not a small portion. The meat on a Sunday Roast was very fatty and tasteless. The Yorkshire pudding was rock hard, the table that knew the waitress had two Yorkshire puddings each, we had one each. The potatoes were dry, we had two slim carrots and cabbage that were overcooked, the cauliflower cheese was nice. The vegetarian meal was good though. We were not offered any sauces or a second drink, and no one checked if everything was okay when the meal was underway. When we mentioned the food quality was poor to the waitress, the waitress, bless her, applied her staff discount, under the instruction of the manager. The manager did not come to see us when asked. Overall a poor experience-disappointing.

My daughter who is not really a neat eater said how fantastic the roast beef was. They cooked it to how she liked it no complaints! Veg potatoes gravy were delicious. Staff friendly and helpful a great experience...well done team woolpack

Lovely setting. Fish and chips were good. Yorkshire pudding on roast was dry and overcooked. Romney Marsh lamb was stringy in parts. Handed food and wine menus and when it came to ordering was told that that items on both weren’t available. Why not tell us when handing out the menus? Had to ask for the cutlery basket to be topped up. Pretty underwhelming.
