Food is excellent made with locally sourced, high quality ingredients on site. Lovely staff and great decor and atmosphere. The star anise ice cream is a real winner. Highly recommend.

The only thing that let it down was the weather and that is totally out of the pubs control

Sat outside under the heater so we were kept lovely and warm, great table service and lovely staff. Great experience especially during this difficult times. All safety measures in place.

Really great lunch. Catered for all tastes inc vegetarian. And the wine we had - Bad Eye Deer Shiraz Cabernet - was fabulous.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Beautiful vegetables, (loved the pumpkin purée) gorgeous beef and gravy. Fire lit, good service. We will be back.

Food and drink was good and the atmosphere was just right. Felt very safe with regards to covid.

We booked to have a Sunday roast following many friends recommendations and could not have been left more disappointed! We all had roast dinners and whilst the food was well presented it was completely cold and the vegetables were still raw. We raised this with the staff who brought out a plate full of carrots and parsnips and Yorkshire puddings however these were just as cold and the Yorkshire puddings were nothing more than raw batter. For the prices on their menu we were extremely disappointed and paid for our drinks however said we were not prepared to pay for food which was simple inedible. Having raised this with the assistant manager we were advised by her and the chefs that “the food is on the chefs but you should not return in future”! From hearing such good things and having enjoyed previous visits (drinks only) I couldn’t have been more shocked or appalled at the treatment we received. It’s understandable that food may not be up to standard every now and then but the way we were spoken to by staff has to go down as the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant!

Great service, very polite and attentive. Food was good on the Sunday roast, except the carrots and parsnips were really hard! I don’t mind ‘al dente’ but this was ‘just warmed through‘. Brownie dessert was lovely, not too big. Otherwise very nice.

Sunday lunch with a friend. Warm welcome from Andrew and the team. Beautifully cooked roasts and starters, service great throughout and very good value. Highly recommended.

It was amazing food. You should try the fantastic sauces. Short ribs - wow! Very good mushroom burger for the veggies too with 5 different mushrooms. Delicious chicken salad - looked very attractive too. Very good value for the quality of the food. Lovely service and felt Covid safe. We have booked again!!

Really nice greeting by staff member. Good explanations of the precautions they are taking for customers and staff. The young girl who waited on us was really attentive and friendly. Slightly disappointed the menu was minimal. Small bites were varied but main courses were limited. Fish chips. Various burgers and Sea bass. I have to say, we had the sea bass and it was delicious. Would've liked to have seen more on the menu.

I would recommend this for food but I would put in the caveat that the kids food wasn’t as described. You have to use an app, and the staff aren’t able to give guidance. I ordered a plain burger for my son, what turned up was a lovely gourmet burger for an adult, looked homemade and was full of herbs and spices. We had to order chicken goujons off of the app, which arrived after my daughter and my wife had already finished their meals. If there was a paper menu probably it would have had a far more embellished description and we wouldn’t have ordered it. My wife and I both had the crab salad which was delicious, great chips, the chicken was a hit with both kids. Lovely atmosphere overall, some loud swearing from the table next to us ( 6.30 on a Saturday night..bit out of order) but this isn’t the pubs fault. We had spent the day at bewilderwood and this was a great way to finish.

Fantastic tasty roast! Menu is very limited to wings or a roast so my wife had to order off the children’s menu for a chicken burger. But my roast was brilliant! And so was the chicken burger to be fair!

The place is very nice and they have a beautiful garden. Nice pub to gather with friends having a beer. However the food is not good, in fact the roast is terrible.

We had fish and chips but the fish had not been properly descaled and wasn’t cooked through. Not very enjoyable. Good covid measures in place.

Veey impressed at compliance with social distancing and food safety when serving us.

Ate out on the last day of eat out to help out. Knew it was just a bbq before we arrived but choice was very limited and for the money food was very average. Glad we didn’t pay full price. Staff were very good though and Covid-19 policies Eg hand sanitiser and one way system were really good.

Very quiet when we visited to eat. The food was very expensive and the sides were an additional cost-£12 for a burger in its own - so terrible value for money in this area where there is plenty of competition.
We finished our drinks then left to eat elsewhere. The waitress was querying something for us regarding the food but never returned with an answer so I doubt we'll be back for anything more than a pint. Shame.

Booked a table for food and drinks, ordered food was then told by quite an unfriendly waitress that the kitchen wasn’t accepting food orders anymore. Not good service at all. It wasn’t even that busy.
