we had pizza slice with chips and burger was really nice the only down size is you can't take items of food off
The web app used to order food and drink was very fidly. Don't know how the seating policy worked as there were plenty of tables free and we were seated in the coolest windiest part whilst others seemed to move around freely.
Service was absolutely shocking, waited an hour and a half for food which we tried to cancel in that time as we didn't even want it anymore but were told we couldn't. Won't be going back.
Hi Emily - We're so sorry to hear about your negative experience; it sounds like it fell far below our usual standard of service. If you could send over some more details to email@example.com om I will look into this further. Kind regards, Team ETFI
the pizza place was closed to new orders by the time we arrived :( (7.45pm) , the Pho was bland, but the ambience, drinks selection and everything else was lovely!
Thanks so much for your 5* review! We're so glad to hear you had a lovely time with us; I will pass on all of your comments to the individual restaurants. Voodoo Rays is super popular but only very rarely sell out - we look forward to welcoming you again so you can enjoy one of their amazing 22" pizzas!
Great mix of food types available. Good social-distancing.
really liked the vibe and looks amazing, but our food arrived cold from to vendors which was disappointing and it is so cold in the venue
Thanks so much for taking the time to review us Emma. We're so glad you loved the atmosphere, and so sorry to hear it was a bit chilly in our big warehouse space - we have lots of shiny new heaters, so it will be nice and toasty next time you come. We can't wait to welcome you back! Team ETFI x
Staff very friendly and nice setting but feel it could be better. I had salmon it was lovely but the large pizza my husband and daughter had went cold very quick so may be something to keep it warm would be good. The wine selection was very good Great there was a DJ the negative it was very much over priced for the place it was
Hi there - thanks so much for your 5* review! So glad to hear you loved your salmon and our wine selection. Sorry to hear the pizza went cold - we have got lots of shiny new heaters in, so your food will stay nice and toasty next time you join us :) Team ETFI x
Best place in Manchester by a country Mile. Well done
Really fantastic experience and evening at Freight Island. Easy booking system and easy to use app for contactless ordering. Phenomenal and delicious food. And an amazing atmosphere created with great music. Highly recommend.
Looking forward to returning post lockdown. Excellent first impressions !
Not very COVID compliant. Waited a long time for food from the pizza place but drinks came quickly. Welcome staff were really lovely and bouncers helpful with track and trace. Tables were a really close together compared to other venues and our chairs were touching the tables behind us. Entertainment provided by Mr Wilson’s second liners who were incredible. Great atmosphere.
Unbelievably good new venue! Concept is great - sure it will be even better post covid. Door staff were friendly, hosts & floor staff clearly excited & passionate about the venture too, which was great, and the live acts were class! The systems in place re covid & ordering were well thought out and worked perfectly too. Only minor negative was the burger took 45 minutes to arrive, but regardless can’t wait to go back!
It’s absolutely freezing even inside so make sure you take a coat and dress appropriately. We waited over an hour for our food because it was originally brought to our table and was the wrong order - we sent it back with the waitress who then didn’t bother to let anyone know we were still waiting. Good atmosphere and food choices thou!
I would recommend to ask to be sat in the centre as we were given a table on the edge near the toilets. It was cold As we have no heaters near by and you couldn’t see anything so it ruined the experience slightly
The Ticket Hall is an incredible space! As always the service was spot on. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The new additions to the food offering are excellent. Always the best atmosphere and vibe.
Another great evening at Escape to Freight Island. Staff and service first class.
I visit this place a lot! It’s as close to pre-covid life as you can get. Great atmosphere but also safe at the same time.
Staff are always friendly and helpful and food is always incredible.
Can’t wait to visit more after this lockdown 2.0.
Amazing been here several times and loved it every single time
I’d booked in enough time to get a good seat but was presented with a table right by the doors to a freezing outside. The main raised area looked like it was the posh part of The Titanic and we were just the commoners down below. The drag artists looked amazing - however I couldn’t see them due to the restricted view.
Food was amazing and service was great - just don’t understand what the point is in putting us in a area that looked like it was for the lesser folk
Great experience, especially just before lockdown. Look forward to returning in free times.
Brilliant and viberant place with great choice and service. Loved it
Awesome venue and excellent food, entertainment and drinks! Will defo go back (when we next can)
Such a fun and innovative venue. Brilliant for all ages. Hats off to everyone who has made this work.
Felt very safe, but the whole ambience was very chilled. Food was great, as was the service. Loads of friendly staff, food arrived in good time and we really enjoyed the whole thing
Fab, loved it.
Quite well organised, we booked, but were delayed slightly getting in, was a cold miserable day, but we were happy, the service was fast, food incredible,
price was about right,
we'll deffo be back.
Good space for food and drinks.
Don't know what's going on with the booking system though.
I had a 14:30 booking today and was asked to join a queue outside for 20 minutes - in the rain.
There was also a big queue on the other side of the gate which I assumed were walk-ins. You can imagine my ire when I got to the front and this queue had reduced dramatically to just one family.
Maybe it was a line of people who had an earlier booking I thought. Fair enough.
But to then hear one of the doorman ask the other if this family of "walk-ins" can go in now infuriated me.
What is the point of making a booking if you have to wait 20 mins and walk-ins get in before you anyway?
Ok, inside now.
Great looking place!
A word of advice to the proprietors though. Construct a wall/vestibule between diners and the entrance.
Cos it's bloody freezing sat in that "Avenue" at this time of year. All it takes is a roofed L-shaped wooden partition.
Buy the wood and I'll build it for you!
Staff were brilliant! Can't fault any of them.
Food was good. Drinks were good. Table service was bang on!
Fix the booking system and the doorway and this place gets five stars all day long.
Really good atmosphere and staff are really professional and friendly
Despite booking had to queue for 30 mins in the pouring rain to get in
Had to ask around 6 people for the children’s goody bags. Got them in the end
No stilt walkers, fire eaters etc - we had a very disappointed 5 year old.
Our 5 year old made a big effort to dress up as a witch, the promised judging didn’t take place.
We were put near the avenue entrance with / little children who were both freezing
Food was nice, the drinks selection really good
The staff did their best but seemed to be pulled in too many directions. Showsec staff outside the venue need a bit of customer care training.
This is our second visit, we may give it one more go when the weather improves but there’s lots of choice in Manchester so places have to excel which Freight Island didn’t do this time.
Great service from Joe Fitzpatrick ! Will definitely be coming back after lockdown.
We came at summer and it was amazing, so we re-booked for my sons 18th. No one told us we could book inside, or asked if we wanted to go inside. The service wasn’t amazing, and our heater didn’t work and the staff knew about it but sat us there. We were asked to be moved but they didn’t have a table for 5 under a heater. Was very disappointed ☹️
Amazing food!!! Especially the vietnamese place but overall would highly recommend. Booked to visit again
Enjoyed the lunch time experience on a Sunday, good food and it'll be a great when everything is back to normal. We sat inside and it was pretty cold.
Have been to freight island on multiple occasions since it opened back in July and have had a great time there each and everytime. Service is usually pretty quick and the track and trace system and covid precautions they have there work well.
The wait for customers that have already booked is a bit of a bug bear especially in the recent weather, so hopefully that can be made more efficient.
Great selection of food and good selection of beer especially with the recent opening of pomona island.
Really disappointed as we had an outdoor table booked for 8.30pm,had us queuing til 9 then was to be seated inside with all food bars closed ! We order drinks they take 30 mins to come and we had 15 minutes to drink our drink before being asked to leave as it was closing
Overall that an amazing place with great atmospheric and would like to return
Love this place, just find the food expensive.
Was a bit disappointed as when attending there wasn’t a lot of places still open and serving
Food was amazing. Lower star given as a bottle of prosecco cost more than in a nice bar in town. Also we were sat on the edge of the indoor part so we didn't really see the decor and entertainment and was chilly which was expected to a degree but being inside we thought may have been a bit warmer. However all round good trip and will return.... maybe do a few cheaper drink options.
Love this place but prices are expensive... Wouldn't be too bad if I actually got to see any entertainment but I didn't.. Pretty poor.
Lockdown saviour! Long live Freight Island, it’s bloody great
