Timothy's on the Riverfront
The crab cake is 99% filler and no flavor. Romaine old and all outside wilted leaves. Caesar dressing no flavor and thin. The flat bread pizza was average at best. The pizza sauce not good. The only good item on the menu is the cauliflower bites.
It was a beautiful night. We sat outside. The food was great, as was the service. We went there with friends and had a wonderful tile.
We were visiting from Miami and really looking forward to a real lump meat crabcake. We were served the Worst Crabcake we had ever eaten. Even our server noted that there was hardly any crab in the broiled mush ball, but offered no remedy. Do yourself a favor and walk along the riverfront to the Big Fish. They know how to make a great crabcake plus great oysters, sides and good wine deals.
Already planning a trip back to share this delicious treat with other friends.
The service was OK, the wait staff sort of ignored us. Not one single offer to refill water or tea. but the food was outstanding. There weren't manner customers in the restaurant and even fewer out on their patio so can't really think of an excuse for the servers, we even had to ask the hostess to ring up our ticket so we could leave once we were finished and had the ticket. Everything we had was great and we brought a meal home for another. The kitchen is awesome, front of the house, not so great.
They changed their menu from which made them stand out by offering seafood and the menu is now basic items
Mediocre food, poor service. We had a reservation and had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. THen it took quite a long time to get a server and maybe a half hour for food to arrive. Staff was pleasant but seemed overworked and/or inaccessible.
We were told to wait for our table when we arrived. After about 5 minutes we were taken to our table which was filthy. We had to ask to have it wiped down. When our drinks arrived my daughters drink had something floating in it and my husbands beer glass had lipstick all around the edges. It was disgusting!
Nothing was done to apologize for grossing us out. We will never go back!
Not sure how soon we will be back...we were served 2/3s of a beer, and told the rest would come when they got more....never saw our waiter again! had to ask someone else for our check...for some reason we felt we were wrong for just asking for our what we were charged for. food was good, service...not so much. Certainly not worth the drive into town. so sorry, we were looking forward to our dinner, but service was awful.
Horrible experience. The waitress was not friendly and not diligent to our needs and requests. The food was nasty. I will never go back there!!
We enjoyed the location of the restaurant and service was fair at best. The table was sticky and the location was right by the door. The crabcake tasted old and mash potatoes were served cold. The other guests enjoyed their meals. Overall the resturaunt was enjoyable for a quick bite to eat.
We had a wonderful server. He was attentive and a joy to have around. The food was delicious and the price was a steal, of course we had just returned from New York City so we had been paying far too much for food.
We met our friends and had a perfectly joyful time at this wonderful spot.
Great waiter, very attentive, food was perfectly prepared
Food was delicious. Service was wonderful!
It’s a bit of an embarrassment for customers to be able to complain about the service form across the bar while watching your two bartenders ignore a cal for assistance. While my fiancé and I wanted a second drink we opted on closing out with the poorly cooked pasta and a salad that was overpowered by the bacon tossed on top. The salmon tasted like bacon! I’ve been in the industry for 10 years. Retrain your staff and eliminate the amount of time spent at the end of the bar chatting. I always tip 30%. I left no tip.
Had a relaxing time and good meal. Would go again for New Years.
We arrived early but they were able to seat us. The lump crab fries were amazing. Great turkey burgers. The salmon was delicious too. It was a great dinner together with family!
The Thanksgiving buffet was excellent! There was a huge selection of dishes...something for everyone.
The pies tasted "store bought."
One thing that we did not appreciate is that they automatically added a 20% gratuity! For buffets, you're only supposed to tip 10%. Afterall, you serve yourself at a buffet!
Our meals were mediocre. Not bad but also nothing to brag about. I do prefer Iron Hill Brewery.
The menu leans very Asian, and the food is excellent. The cauliflower appetizer is very good, but quite a large portion. Lots of fish options, and the tuna and halibut are excellent. Unfortunately the service is slow. It took a while for our food to arrive, and we were left with our finished. plates for about 10 minutes. The food is worth another try.
A great place to gather with many frineds on a Sunday afternoon.
Waiter was pretty lackadaisical. We asked if there were any specials - “nope”. Tried to order drinks but apparently didn’t know any of the drinks we wanted. Didn’t offer to check with bartender. Finally ordered a Diet Coke - he was “sure they had that”. Wife ordered fish and chips - “we don’t have that.” It wasn’t the fact that the waiter was clueless- he didn’t care or apologize. Then after we ordered - there was three of us- he delivered the food to the wrong people! We had to switch plates around. Anyway enough complaining- the food was pretty good and the prices were good value.
We went here for our anniversary dinner and was pleasantly surprised. It's a few steps above Applebee's, but not as pricey as Firebirds. It was a good fit for what we were looking for. Many selections and food was absolutely delicious! Will return for lunch or another special occasion!
Good meeting-place with outdoor or indoor seating. Food is adequate, comfort/diner/bar-type menu. Location along the Riverfront is convenient to New Castle, Newark and Wilmington.
Very bland food. Inattentive service. There are much better places nearby that understand the service and food industry. It seems that Timothy’s could care less.
Nice overall. We were there on July 4th so they seemed a little overwhelmed. Food was very good.
We hadn't gone to Timothy's in a long time, mostly because we forget about it since it is tucked behind the stores. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside, our waiter was nice and helpful and the food was very good. I had a crab cake sandwich and my husband a burger and we both enjoyed our meals. I would recommend Timothy's especially during the warm months where you can sit outside and enjoy being able to watch passerbys both on the sidewalk and in the water.
Our group of four was not too impressed. Parking is plentiful, but signage to actual restaurant is not very clear. Inside seating has no view of the Riverfront. Waitress may have been new, not very attentive. Three of us ordered the fish tacos. None of us like avacado. Our orders came with avocado and we were all charged extra for it. Empty plates were never cleared. We won’t return. There are other restaurants that are more appealing as you walk the Riverwalk.
Great outside seating and view. Good food. Dog friendly.
Food was delicious; generous portions; great atmosphere and location.
Service was below par i.e. drinks that were ordered were never delivered, food was delivered at various times. Food was also below normal standards; crab cakes were mostly filler and had no taste, the cocktail sauce was watered down ketchup.
Had to seat ourselves, dining room was closed when we got there had to sit in the bar. It was pretty bad all around, shame because the place itself is nice.
Overall last year Mother’s Day was much better. Service was an issue this year, just a tad bit not up to the standards.
Food on buffet was better quality last year. Some of the hot foods were warm or cold especially the French Toast also I believe more options last year.
I also always tip well, on a buffet special occasion I tip 15% for good service and 18% for excellent service. It is a buffet and servers only take drink orders. However our waitress was lame on beverages and dinner didnt refill our coffee instead told us to refill on buffet.
Restaurant forced a 20% tip on every bill! Not a good move
Definitely will look elsewhere next year. Sad cause it’s a great location and space.
Advertisement was misleading - add suggested mimosas and bloody Mary’s were included.
There was a single buffet and the line wrapped around the restaurant - the line was about 15 minutes. There was limited coffee - literally a single small pot at the end of the buffet for all patrons.
We paid $20 plus bucks per person and had no patience to rewait in the line.
I would never come back. Complete rip-off with false advertising for what we got.
First dining experience at Timothy's...will definitely return!
Sitting outside at Timothy's on the Riverfront on a lovely evening made up for the not-too-fancy bar food menu. It's not a spot for foodies. However, the food was good, as was the service, and prices were reasonable. Good first stop before the Blue Rocks game!
Great pre-theater dining location. Something on the menu for the whole family. Sweet potato fries are fabulous. All the food and drinks were superb.
Food was okay. Service was a little spotty, but they were clearly very busy and servers were working very hard so I can't fault them for that. Nothing spectacular. I probably wouldn't bother to go again.
Soup had great flavor. Main meals were ok, but not exceptional. My brother picked it for his birthday, and he was pleased, so that was the goal.
We went with a large group before a movie. The service was great, and so was the food. Big portions too.
