The kitchen puts a modern twist on our country’s culinary heritage, from smoked haddock, salmon and spring onion fishcake to pan-roasted belly pork, braised fennel and orange, cider apple sauce to chicken, Carmarthen ham and leek pie. Desserts elevate traditional puddings, such as Bara Brith bread and butter pudding, and apple and berry crumble with Black Mountain brandy liqueur custard.

Our Welsh credentials carry through to our drinks list, with local spirits playing a starring role in our signature cocktails and our own takes on the classics.

    It’s quite tired. Stains on wooden tables and no table cloths used. Just felt like there were not enough staff. Missing a scone, given another when we finally found someone. Fizz was flat but my guest didn’t want to create a fuss. The sandwiches had clearly been sat around as some sides of bread were a little hard. The cakes selection was just mediocre . Not bad just not great for the price. No tea top ups. No ambient music - just overall sad .

    The food itself was beautiful (afternoon tea) and the waitress was extremely friendly. However the hostess was problematic. When we arrived, she created confusion by saying she couldn't find our booking. I showed it to her and she found it. Then she told me I hadn't identified whether I was booking afternoon tea or lunch, despite my booking clearly stating afternoon tea. As we walked to the table, she then chastised us (and every other table to be seated) for not stating dietary requirements, despite not having any. She, finally instructed the waitress to ask us the same questions, creating more confusion. It's a shame, as we were extremely frustrated before even sitting down, which ruined the atmosphere for what could have been a lovely afternoon tea.

    Not what I expected from a 5 star hotel. Friendly( a little over friendly, being called darling!!!) Service but bar menu stained and scruffy left on table. Fine for snack lunch.

    The afternoon tea itself was fantastic but I think the staff were unduly resistant to our party's request for a table with a better view after being put in the corner next to the bar. I was told the restaurant was very busy but we were there for 2.5 hours and there were free tables with great views the entire time!

    Absolutely one of the best afternoon teas we have had . Service brilliant, attentive, friendly and respectful. Surroundings beautiful . We spent 3 hours and did not feel that we over stayed our welcome . Would highly recommend and we will return before Christmas . Thank to the staff who looked after us so well .

    We arrived at the restaurant and the welcome was superb. We sat at our table and the room temperature was so cold. Nearly all the customers were sat with their coats on. It was a very uncomfortable place to be. Also the 45 minute wait for food was a bit disappointing when the resteraunt seemed quiet compared to other times we been. On a plus side the food we did have was extremely nice. Would return but would be prepared next time.

    Our experience at Tir a Mor was absolutely delightful. The cuisine surpassed my expectations, and I must admit, I wasn't very familiar with the restaurant until I became a member of the SPA. I'm truly grateful we chose to celebrate our 9th anniversary at your establishment. The staff exhibited exceptional attentiveness, and the restaurant's ambiance struck the perfect balance between modernity and relaxation, all while exuding a luxurious aura. I wholeheartedly recommend Tir a Mor to our family and friends and eagerly look forward to our next visit.

    My wife and I had a lovely meal with perfectly chilled drinks staff were very pleasant and it was a nice experience.BUT being charged £5.10 for one hour and fifty minutes to park in Hotel carpark spoilt a great afternoon

    Service was really friendly and professional. Food was amazing. Went for Lunch. Would go again. Only small point. People nearby using speaker phone which was not the Restaurant fault. Some people are not considerate. The menu was Bistro type but we asked for Ala carte and no problem for them. Next time we would go in the evening. It’s a special place so would prefer a quiet environment not that it was noisy. The Restaurant part looked more intimate and as we are a pair of old romantics that suit us. Overall we had a fabulous day so thank you to the staff.

    Lovely restaurant, great staff. Good view. Convenient parking. Drinks order was delayed even when not busy. The Sea Bass batter was not particularly appetising and the spicy noodles were not spicy and very small quantity. The food received didn’t reflect the price. Expensive prices. Will not attend again.

    Tir a Mor is a great restaurant. It's in a hotel which means that it's a very big room and that does affect the ambiance to a degree. Food was very good, though conventional rather than inventive. Service was aslo good. Recommended.

    Absolutely outstanding! What a lovely bar / restaurant! Super helpful polite and efficient staff, food was exceptional. We both had fish n chips and it was huge, piping hot and very tasty. We will definitely come back again as a place to eat at in the Bay.

    Excellent service and food was outstanding! We dined here because we were staying in the voco St David’s hotel and this lovely restaurant did not disappoint. Everything from start to finish was just amazing and it made our wedding anniversary a very special one. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

    Tom was very attentive and saw to all our needs. Very thoughtful as he’d remembered it was our wedding anniversary from a conversation at lunch time and brought us 2 glasses of Prosecco so we could toast.

    The service is excellent very polite and professional. Food was good but not outstanding. A general issue in most restaurants that triple cooked chips are not what you're expecting but once cooked frozen chips if they were to invest in a bit more effort. I will be returning but not having chips lol

    We booked for my graduation dinner and were not disappointed! The food was superb- hats off to the chef, and the staff were all so attentive and lovely! We had a waitress, I’m not sure of her name but she had an accent ( if that helps identify) and she was fantastic. She kept refilling our waters throughout the night, and listened to all my families requirements and needs. She was so patient.”, I can not fault her.     Stayed here many times over the years I even celebrated my wedding here so last night was such a huge let down for me. Service started off great with drinks order taken immediately on being seated and after a while food orders were taken. When the food came out it was wrong, my friends’ food had everything on the dish that she had specified she didn’t want, eventually got the attention of a waitress who took it away. I was left slowly eating my food for 25 minutes before the replacement meal arrived for my friend . My food was now cold so I didn’t eat it. Getting the attention of staff was a problem all through the night even though there were plenty of them around at one point there were more staff than guests. Dessert was fine. Such a disappointing evening for a 5 star hotel, and a let down for my birthday celebration.

    Love this beautiful restaurant set overlooking Cardiff Bay. Interior design classy. Food delicious and the staff are attentive and extremely friendly. Our request of having a bottle of champagne on ice with glasses ready for when we arrived was met, then popped and poured beautifully. Would absolutely recommend.

    Lovely food - shockingly slow service! We nearly walked out after waiting 5 minutes to be seated (we’d made a reservation) and twenty minutes to be asked if we’d like a drink.

    Lunch was excellent. Waiting staff very good, kind and thoughtful with the elderly diners in our party. Would definately recommend. It would be good however, if there was an option for parties larger than two to sit on a couple the tables by the window at the front of the restaurant.
