Wagyu Beef & Truffle Tataki
Spicy Prawn Gyoza
Friendly and warm welcome, nice cosy restaurant and great food
First time I've ever bothered to review place but feel I have to on this occasion.
Basically it was chaos!
We arrived at 7pm to be told there was hardly any choice of wines and by the time we left at 8.15 they had pretty much run dry.
The food we had was good but the time between starters and mains was way too long and then some of our order was missing.
What we did eat was great and I would still recommend people to try it. I just hope someone from Titu reads this as it's a great place and the staff were very nice but I'm just not into spending around £100 and feeling short changed and still hungry.
I know times are tough and people are short on staff but if you open up for business you have to be ready.
Fingers crossed they improve for their own sake.
Staff were friendly and food was amazing, especially the vegetable tacos.
Had a great time and our server was really friendly!!
Cute place, very friendly and helpful staff. Quality food and drinks. Thank you!
This is the second time that I have eaten at Titu. I love the vibe and the staff are all lovely. The food is also delicious and it can be found in a really cute area of London. My only negative comment would be is that they didn’t have any of the wines that we wanted but the lovely waitress made a plan.
Really lovely, at tentative staff, incredible food and good vibes
Very small inside (only like 10 tables) so it’s a cute place for an intimate dinner.
The food was so good! The beef tataki and the tuna tacos where amazing.
However the service was a lot to be desired. For a restaurant with 5 tables the service could of been so much better. It took a long time for the staff to realise we need them to the point we had to calm across the room. Also the male waiter was constantly texting on his phone.
You be honest I would recommend for the food but to be honest I am not sure if I would like to deal with that service again!
Excellent food, exceeding my expectations! Restaurant is tiny but service is great. Feels very much like a restaurant in Tokyo.
Had a great time, nice food and friendly staff.
Had a really nice time, the service initially was slow but once seen by our waitress she was excellent really friendly and accommodating. A nice place to have a few drinks and good food with friends
The food was magnificent. I really enjoyed it and the lady was so nice. I will definitely be back :)
Good and very unique
Good but nothing so particular. Limited menu and small portions. It was delicious but I’d like to eat more with those prices.
We showed up on a rainy dark evening and were met by warmth and friendliness. Apologising for the weather! And informing us that protective umbrellas would be coming within the hour. If we wanted to leave, it was not a problem. But we stayed, and were treated to amazing small dishes, with special mention to the seaweed salad and the truffle fries. The gyoza were also yummy, especially the prawn ones. But by far the best part was the service. Definitely a new favourite!
Arrived at 7, ordered drinks, they arrived at 8:30. Some of the Food finally arrived at 10:00pm. Waiter kept forgetting all of our orders and didn’t put it in the system. Apologised for forgetting then blamed it was due to short staff, however none of the other tables had this issue. Out of 6 items ordered only 3 items arrived for the 4 of us. They had the nerve of still charging us, though “discounted”, it was shocking they still felt a bill should even be offered. It was absolutely freezing, no blankets or heaters, we were starving by the time 11 hit, I’ve never in my life experienced such service. If this was staff at any of my restaurants or hotels, serious repercussions would have been made, a “sorry” is not good enough for a 4 hour wait for nothing in the cold. It’s a shame as I was hoping to host a few intimate private gatherings for a few business launches throughout the year due to location and incredible food choices. I’ll only ever recommend to friends and family to stay clear of Titu. Being a hotelier, feedback is of utmost importance, thus I always have given restaurants a benefit of doubt and contacted them directly to give them constructive feedback to help improve their services for the future if ever there was problems during my dining experience, but this was the most appalling service I have ever ever received. Stay clear, it’s worth waiting till the full easing of lockdown is over and to spend your time and money somewhere worthwhile. I’ve never experienced such disappointment.
Great place to eat, small but great for a party of 2. Would definitely recommend.
Good service, nice food and a good place to go overall, they had overbooked but we didn't mind waiting a few minutes.
Titu was a pleasant evening. The staff were very courteous and friendly and the food was delicious. Stand outs for us were the chicken popcorn and the fried baby squid. The drinks were good too. Hope to come back when we can sit inside!
We arrived at our table at 9:30, to be greeted by two very well-spirited and welcoming waiters. We started on a few cocktails (whisky sours and and a sake-based drink, both absolutely divine, although could have been a bit stronger) and some Japanese beers (the names of which escape me, as they had run out of Asahi). We were given some great recommendations for their famous gyozas, the favourite of which must have been the foie-gras and chicken, or the Wagyu and black pepper gyoza. From then on we continued trying more and more small dishes and were astounded at the end when presented with a fairly reasonable bill, considering the amount we had to eat and drink. All-in-all, a wonderful meal and I would love to go again
Excellent food and experience! Would recommend to everyone looking for a cosy restaurant with incredible food.
A very unique place in the way that it is very very small.. probably, not the best place to go for social distancing! Difficult to have conversations too, as you can hear people speaking next to you (as they are so close). But the service, cocktails and food were great!
Absolutely loved this little gem of a restaurant - the food was fantastic, much better than what “big name” high end Japanese restaurants charge, at about 60% of the price.
Service was efficient and friendly, with great decor and ambience.
Hoping to return very soon...
Delicious meal two days before lockdown. Very friendly staff, food came out quickly, very impressed by the cocktails. Slightly rushed because of the seating times and getting everyone in before lockdown but we completely understood that and the staff went about it very well. Will definitely be returning post lockdown and supporting the business (if they do takeaway during lockdown)
Amazing food and very cozy place! The gyoza is fantastic, one of the best I ever have.
The food was AMAZING! I’d highly recommend this small, but perfectly formed place. Love love love the tuna tacos!
Amazing food, tremendous flavours, really accommodating staff, small restaurant but adds to the character. My wife is Vegetarian and was well catered for, wide choice.
I come here regularly. Food is always amazing and the staff really attentive.
Great service and food. Super cosy.
Small little restaurant with incredible food and service.
had the 3 course lunch for £21; all the food was delicious, especially loved the spicy prawn gyoza and cucumber tataki. cute décor and good service completed the meal
The first time I went to Titu I was fascinated by the restaurant and food. Cozy and small, friendly staff and good music. The food was also good and we felt it was really good value.
However, when I went back I had all these good memories and I was slightly disappointed. The food is still really good but the restaurant environment is not anymore. The music was not good, and all the food arrived at the same time, it wasn’t a pleasant stay on dinner but rather a rushed one where we felt we needed to leave soon.
This is my new favourite restaurant in London. The food tastes amazing, the service is great and the location is nice. It’s a tiny restaurant and really makes you feel cosy and looked after.
I had a wonderful time for dinner here, the atmosphere of the little cozy restaurant is lovely, and the food was good enough to have us order seconds of everything. The matcha brûlée is a must try!
Glad to see our go to local back in business. Imaginative food consistently well prepared, friendly staff, and for Mayfair reasonable prices. Small and intimate so booking advised
The portion is really small but food is good
Brilliant little place: superb food and charming service
A firm favourite. Returning after months away felt so good. The tuna tacos, jalapeño tuna, and shiitake rice balls tasted better than ever. The intimate atmosphere and sweet waitress make for a fabulous night out.
Overall, the experience was great. Things that I liked:
1. The staffs were accommodating and kind, were always smiling and very enthusiastic in introducing the menu and suggested the best in the menu.
2. The Japanese ambient decor had a cozy vibe.
3. I enjoyed the starters - asparagus fries, cucumber tataki and vegetable gyoza. Tasted fresh and well seasoned.
4. Also enjoyed the mochi dessert, especially the coconut and mango ❤️
My least favourites:
1. The grilled baby chicken was cooked well that it wasn't dry. However it was too sweet to my liking, and so was the ubergine miso.
2. The beef wagyu & truffle tataki wasn't my liking. The truffles worked well with wagyu, but the combination of other flavours were overwhelming, to the extent that I couldn't taste the richness of beef wagyu. Would have probably worked better if there was less flavours added so to highlight the wagyu taste.
