Toby Carvery - Thanet

As usual the food was of a high quality. Made my day having red cabbage a particular favourite. It was busy but it was lunchtime so to be expected. Never had a bad roast dinner here and just for the record their toasties are probably on a par with my own.

It was a very busy evening and there was not enough staff so there was longer waits than usual.

Went with a friend for breakfast, brilliant. Plenty of choice, well cooked, outstanding value, can't wait for next time.

There was nothing to complain about, all went well from walking in to walking out .

We were seated at a table that felt as if it had been added last minute. It was partly in the middle of the floor, literally right up against the server station. So each time they opened or slammed drawers or doors it reverberated against our table and chairs. This was made worse as they put down and stacked trays of glasses. Very noisy. Not a pleasant dining experience.

we always enjoy our visits to Toby carvery. The food is excellent and pudding is good too. Its handy to be able to book in advance now. good service too. We have enjoyed every visit.

Had lunch with friends on Friday and although it was busy, the food was great. Meat and vegetables all fresh and topped up. Server was very attentive, highly recommended

Very disappointed. We had booked with open table and received booking notifications all day, only to find no booking when we arrived at the restaurant!

Lovely meal, lovely atmosphere it was a pleasant change from having to cook, just wish soft drinks were a bit cheaper

My only slight criticism, at peak times, parking can be awkward.

We eat here on a regular occasion to enjoy excellent food, service, price, and friendly service always from all members of staff. It has good access and ample parking spaces enabling us to enjoy our meal with no hassle

Had a nice meal, thought they were a bit tight with meat portions. I chose beef and turkey on my plate after eating my meal all I can really remember of it was the taste of vegetables. Would have been better with extra or slightly thicker meat slices.

We have been going to the Toby Carvery for a number of years, for all sorts of different occasions. We have never been disappointed. The food has always been first class and of the highest quality. The portions are generous and the staff are always helpful.
I would definitely recommend the Toby.

Booking the table was easy...the person cutting up the meat was horrendous to me and my friend ....we are both retired and usually enjoy our meal at Toby but today was spoiled by the abusive guy. Utting up the turkey ham etc.....and as I was dropping the stuffing on to my plate..he dashed over and grabbed the tongs I had picked up from the stuffing dish and he was shouting....that’s for vegetarians. ..he changed the tongs and went back to cutting up the meat..,!!!while I stood looking in amazement ..he started telling people about me !! How I was getting stuffing and I had to be told it was for vegetarians ..also stories that had the people that were waiting ..looking at me and laughing.......he was very rude....I asked the waitress for his name ...I have it on a paper.....I will not go to that restaurant again, I had travelled approx twenty miles and trust me ...as a lady ...I do not need this treatment ...put me off my food and did not enjoy it at all.....nearer places to me are just as good with nice people serving ...not atrocious ones like him...

Staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is nice and hot always something for everyone. We will certainly be back.

I love Toby but feel paying £2-85 for a Diet Coke to be a big rip off

We have used Toby a few times now, when booking you are asked if it is a special occasion, as it was my birthday I put this on the booking, I don't know what I expected as we was dealt with as normal

Excellent value, food does vary depending on the time of the day. The food at this visit (17:45) was very good, fresh and hot.

We dine here 1-3 times a week sometimes 4 in the winter. We go as a couple , but often with family / friends. 98% of our experiences are very good. Food is freshly cooked and cooked in a healthy way. On quite a few occasions the potatoes have been burnt and sometimes part of the food has been cold. But when we have felt it necessary to complain (rare) we have had an apology and been compensated . The staff are friendly and try to be accommodating

We have visited other companies - Harvesters ( this was our favourite for many years but food and service went right down ) Brewers, Hungry Horse , Zizzies ( only 2 or 3 times because of continuous bad service & food. )

Great value for money, good selection of food, my only complaints would be that the food isn't always piping hot and the waiting staff are pushed, so don't expect first class attention.
But for the money....................

Having visited Toby Carveries many times, here and Berkshire, it is always a lottery when eating at this Toby. Very disappointing on this occasion. The meat was good and plentiful. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the vegetables. The roasties were white and soft, not a crispy bit in sight. The choice was minimal with most overcooked, they reminded me of school dinners in the 50s.

We have visited for the last seven years and have seen changes - for the better. the meat portions have increased - yum yum - and all the food is very good value. We choose to visit during term time than school holidays when it obviously is quieter. Please continue doing the same

I had a really good experience at Toby Carvery and always have done! I reserved a table online to find when I got there the system had an error yet the staff were really apologetic and accommodating and gave us the next available table which was a life saver as I didn't have time to go elsewhere and I appreciate the restaurant was full to the brim! The food and service was top notch and my husband and daughter enjoyed their food just as much as I did!
