Good food and wines as well as good atmosphere.
Valentine’s Day menu was terrific. Waiter and all the courses were excellent! Only suggestion is that the woman who brought each course to the table would just place it on our table and leave. It would have been nice for her to tell us a bit about each course as it was presented, particularly since we had the special set Menu.
Waited more than an hour for our lunch sushi set while the restaurant only had few tables
Good service. New team a few months old but knows everything and very accommodating . Down to the way u want them to cook the food since wife was pregnant. Been there a few times now would definitely go back again.

Spectacular! Excellent food and service, sushi was to die for and my friend loved the wagyu carpaccio. Ambience was buzzing, it was a pleasure interacting with the chef and the team. We will certainly be returning. Thank you so much Tokimeite team!
I am a Japanese so perhaps too critical about the Japanese restaurant in comparison to the other reviewers, however the sashimi I had at lunch was not fresh and had bad smell especially tuna - just about edible but not pleasant. The miso soup was not hot when served. The teriyaki salmon was thin and very dry. Nishime was bland and mushy. The waitress kept touching food with her fingers as she served the food - not very hygenic. The deco was nice. The tea was nice. I would be surprised if the chef has ever been to Japan before... very amateur.

Went for lunch with my family. We ordered the Bento Lunch as well as the Sushi Gozen and Ebi ten Gozen and a few a la carte items, absolutely fantastic quality, best in London and on par with Tokyo. Well done chef and everyone at Tomeite
Recently reopened Tokimeite was not my first choice but late booking left little choice. We were genuinely blown away by the quality of the food and service,. Bit pricey but high quality. We will definitely be going back.
How can a wonderful restaurant like Tokimeite which used to offer excellent food prepared with the finest ingredients all of a sudden go downhill like it has? I would suggest to change back to the former expert Chefs that used to perform the art of japanese cooking behind the counter. Definitely not a place to go back to until this change has happened.
Refreshing to hv a more refined setting for Japanese food in London.
However we still prefer the traditional Japanese food which is still quite rare in London.

I always try to fit Tokimeite into my London visits. It disappointed 2 trips ago, bounced but last time and has continued its strong performance. I dined very early so it was quiet, but that’s to be expected. Food was excellent, service too.
I booked the place as I heard about the twin restaurant in Tokyo.The two of us were the only guests in
the restaurant for the whole evening.The service was not impressive and the menu was very basic, nothing really interesting , nothing to do with a real Kaiseki experience.The prices were like in a real top London Japanese restaurant but there is nothing to support this positioning.
Kind of disappointed. The food was very salty and clams were over cooked, couldn’t swallow because was too hard. Service was ok but as a Michelin restaurant it shouldn’t have the quality like that

Sashimi was outstanding and rolls also fantastic - the only hint is the price - so don't count - just enjoy, than it is heaven

The food is great and more Japanese in a way. But the overall service might be in need of some improvement to match the restaurant. The guy who served my table had a face far from wearing a smile and was less than good at recommending dishes. But the other waitress fared much better. So I can't be completely sure about the overall quality of the service since I only encountered two of the staff. However, I can be sure that their food is worth tasting.

Beautiful restaurant! Staff and service was top par! This restaurant is for individuals with an advanced pallet. Not for the average sushi eater.

This becomes my new favourite restaurant in London. Really enjoyed the whole dining experience, would recommend sitting at the counter near the chef.
Superb dishes in taste, freshness and presentation. The wagyu beef selections are superb, don’t miss. Large saki range to pick from. Sashimi was thick, fresh and plentiful. The table also enjoyed the king crab sushi. Attentive service yet discreet throughout. Large table with easily audible (amongst us) business conversation.
High quality but very expensive. Most dishes were exquisite but some preprepared and too cold. Not crowded which was surprising for a Friday night
First, their Service is terrible. Slow because of the lack of staf, unpleasemt and uninterested in the customer. The menu is described on their website as “creative” but in reality it s just a poorer uninventive but untasty version of traditional japanese dishes (I ordered a sukiyaki that turned out to be be a precooked swampy soup of big chunks of “wagyu”.).
The portions are huge even for western standards and if not careful when ordering you could end up leaving a lot of it behind. But they dont seem to care or worry about waste. I saw the “chef” slice a £160 steaks into pieces and then put a good portion of it in the bin only to make the sandwuich “perfectly” square. I understand that certain priorities require a compromise, but i dont think it reaches as far as the cuatomer’s own money. In any case, I am sure that being able to cut a sandwich at exactly 90 degrees is not necessarily what anyone would call haute cuisine.
To add to the story, they keep semi live lobsters laying upside down on display not even in a fish tank, but on a plate full of ice with their legs kicking in the air for the entertainment of guests sitting at the counter. Yours truly.
Severely overpriced for pretty bog standard sushi & steak in and around mayfair. All that hullabaloo about Japanese wagyu is pants! Certainly nothing outstanding.
Matt is awesome! Loves his work and it shows. We had seats at the counter where we had an amazing view of the extremely talented chef at work. I prefer the counter over the tables as you feel the experience a lot more. Everything on point and a super enjoyable evening. Thank you, Tokimeite.
I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant, but I didn't. The food was very, very good. But the ambiance and service really let the place down. It just doesn't feel very Japanese, right down to the chintzy Chinese-style lattern-style light fittings above the sushi counter. Wrestling a wine menu out of the waiter proved a monumental challenge. We ordered a 2015 and they tried to give us the 2017 (which we declined). Not cool. And the specials on a mini-blackboard?: it just didn't feel right, and was very awkward while sitting at the sushi counter. Rightly-or-wrongly at this price-point and locale the clientele want the full Japanese experience. It was nowhere to be found.
