About

Tolbooth Tavern Edinburgh itself is part of the original Canongate Tolbooth which was used to collect fees off travellers entering the city centre of Edinburgh. Nowadays, however, the Tolbooth Tavern is a fantastic bar that serves up hearty pub grub. There are a few distinctive dishes on the menu that you simply have to try including The Tolbooth Haggis Tower with traditional Scottish haggis (made in-house), then piled high with neeps and tatties (potatoes and turnips, for those not in the know) before being covered in a fiery whisky sauce. But if that all sounds a bit much for you how about some fresh local haddock in beer batter with chips or some bangers and mash made using Crombies of Edinburgh’s sausages? All washed down with a pint, of course!
