Originally from Pembrokeshire, Wales, Tom’s respect and passion for nature, produce and cooking has been a major part of his life from a young age. His earliest memories are of roaming farmers’ markets, foraging in the countryside, and harvesting his mother’s vegetable garden. This love and respect for ingredients and nature from both Tom and partner Lois is the foundation of Tom Simmons, Tower Bridge.

Influenced by both British and French cuisine with an emphasis on his Welsh heritage, Tom has a personal relationship with each hand selected supplier and farmer, ensuring the best possible produce on the plate.

We had a pre-theatre dinner before going off to the Bridge Theatre. The food was very good, service was excellent and we shall certainly return. Much recommended.

We booked on the spur of the moment for pre-theatre dinner. The prix-fixe was limited but very well served good but expensive.

Had the pre theatre menu. Hadn't been to Tom Simmons before. Nice restaurant, quiet and with the tables not too crammed in. Service was rapid, efficient and friendly without being all over us. Food was very good. One star off for slightly small portions but that did mean we could have desert without feeling it. I will eat there whenever I go to The Bridge Theatre.

I've visited Tom Simmons twice and both times the food has been outstanding. This restaurant deserves to be much busier than it is.

Lovely meal with excellent service. We had the pre theatre menu and, while the choice wa limited, every course was delicious. A great place to eat before a trip to The Bridge Theatre

We have eaten here many tmes and really love this restaurant. We ad a poor experience from a service perspective this time around . This is a shame but we will try again and hope that this was a one off.

Booked for pre-theatre dinner, and ordered from the set menu. We opted for smaller dishes as the mains didn't appeal. Imaginative and truly delicious table dishes (crispy pigs' head and mushroom croquettes) but the smoked duck salad was mediocre. Neither of us were wowed by the desserts either: almond frangipane that lacked almond, and pear & fennel ice cream. Service was also rather slow between courses, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Overall, we had far higher expectations of Tom Simmons. Won't be returning.

My first time to a Tom Simmons restaurant and I'll certainly be back. Quality personified throughout . A very personalised service with a Welsh tinge which was a personal reminder ... the menu was tantalizing and made the decisions more difficult for all of us. Attention to detail and the presentation of the dishes was so satisfying. A fine bottle of wine served to make it a memorable evening. Thank you

Amazing food. Attentive service, nice atmosphere. Interesting wine list, I don’t often see Western Australian wines on a wine list so I was thrilled to see a couple here. Staff gave great recommendations and were attentive, checked to see if we needed to be served quickly in case we were going to the theatre afterwards. Lovely varied menu.

This was our 2nd visit to Tom Simmons for a pretheatre meal. This time we were seated downstairs. I feel that this area lacks ambience and is a bit of a 'fill in' to use the space under the stairs etc. I could hear noise (which I believe came from the kitchen) through the wall adjacent to our table and I could also hear the hand dryer from the ground floor toilet which had a wall adjacent to our table. Service was good though as the restaurant got busier, the service declined whilst the servers were dealing with other diners. We had the pretheatre meal which was pleasant. I'm not sure I would revisit unless I could be sure we would be seated upstairs.

Pre-theater dîner, seated at the first floor, very cold ambiance. Food was really bad, and portions very small. the gnocchi were absolutely not gnocchi, 5 pieces of flabby dough with some vegetables half cooked..

Great food, great service. Would definitely recommend. We were going to the Bridge Theatre for a Matinee - and wanted to try something different. The food was great, and we liked the thought that had been put into the menu - and from where the main ingredients were bought from.
Will be back again. Thanks

A thoroughly lovely meal with friendly, helpful and unobtrusive service. The only downside I can point to at Tom Simmons is that the room is not particularly cosy - there's a lot of hard surfaces making it seem a little utilitarian. This was probably not helped by our being seated underneath the staircase. Not a bad table and near the window, but adding to a rather stark feeling in the room. The important thing, though, is the food which was outstanding and the service which was delightful.

We went before seeing a play at the Bridge Theatre. One of had the pre-theatre menu @ £27 for three courses whilst the other at from the a la menu. Couldn’t fault the cooking and I agree that flavours and presentation could rival many a Michelin one-star restaurant. Staff were efficient and friendly. Overall we thought the pre-theatre menu was much better value. From the main menu, one of our starters was listed as “scallops” but when it came there was only one scallop, which had been cut in half vertically..
Portions generally a tad on the small side maybe.
With two glasses of wine each and a couple of pre-starters (mushroom croquettes with tarragon mayonnaise particularly good) our bill was £134 including service

We just had the set lunch, which was a well planned menu with some choice, perfectly cooked, delicious food with excellent taste detail & also looked good. The set lunch was very good value. I think it might be noisy when full (we went early before a matinee). I wish the chairs were cushioned. We were upstairs, which is fine - though that means you have to wait until one of the staff is up there to ask for/about anything. The food is what will take us back there.

I had been searching around for somewhere to take a colleague out to dinner in town from the US. It was Feb 14th - valentines - and everywhere was either full or had crazy expensive set dinners. I’d not heard of Tom Simmons, it was in the area I wanted and the menu looked good. Unfortunately when we arrived we realised it was a set dinner and whilst the food was good we had not wanted such a big meal. That said they handled a request for gluten free well, even offering an alternative canapé.
