Originally from Pembrokeshire, Wales, Tom’s respect and passion for nature, produce and cooking has been a major part of his life from a young age. His earliest memories are of roaming farmers’ markets, foraging in the countryside, and harvesting his mother’s vegetable garden. This love and respect for ingredients and nature from both Tom and partner Lois is the foundation of Tom Simmons, Tower Bridge.

Influenced by both British and French cuisine with an emphasis on his Welsh heritage, Tom has a personal relationship with each hand selected supplier and farmer, ensuring the best possible produce on the plate.

Great food - attentive (but not too attentive) staff, and a perfect place for an early evening meal. I’ll be back!

Love this restaurant - our second visit in as many weeks. Dishes are beautifully made and presented - huge variety of flavours and attractive on the plate. We used the set menu (great value) and also the a la carte. Lamb loin with spring vegetables tasted entirely of "springtime" Staff are friendly and attentive but not intrusive - we loved that they leave the wine on the table for us to pour ourselves. Wine list is reasonably priced (for London) but not very large so would have liked a wider selection - but not a reason not to keep on coming.

Fantastic food, service and ambience. The menu was fantastic and to see real Welsh produce being used was a great touch. The layered potatoes are probably the best 'side' I've ever tasted. Thanks Tom and team

Visited on the strength of previous reviews.
Was not disappointed!
Attentive but unobtrusive service, prompt and friendly.
We visited on a lunchtime and it was pretty quiet, I’d love to come back and experience the atmosphere on a busy, buzzy night.
But for a slow and enjoyable lunch with close friends it was perfect.

Food exceptional. Real attention to detail, superb handling of ingredients. Scallops were the perfect texture married with unctuous pork belly and a sweet stab of curried raisin.
We had beef, duck and lamb respectively, each came with the meat cooked two ways and to perfection. The play of textures and flavours both complimentary and contrasting was very well judged.
The crispy sliced potatoes are epic.

The desserts were another fun and flavoursome contrast of textures and flavours that made us wish we could lick our plates clean!

Great value too, for really top notch cooking, made with obvious pride and care.

Nice atmosphere, quality food using excellent ingredients. The Leek butter is amazing (please start selling it!) and the Hake was fresh and I also recommend the layered potatoes/chips. So much more than just a chip! The set menu was very reasonable for the standard of food. We had a great evening thank you!

The food was very good, the table we were sat was right in the corner on the ground floor which had all the ambience of a corporate office meeting room. The service was lamentable some of the worse I have ever experienced, won't recommend or return.

I found the restaurant on Trip Advisor and thought I’d give it a try when in London last weekend.
A Friendly, Unpretentious, stylish restaurant that gave excellent service and marvellous food.
We had three courses and each was delicious. The side of crispy layered potatoes were particularly good.
They even gave us a glass of bubbly each to celebrate my birthday.
Just wish we came to London more often, we would defiantly be regular diners.......

Super service. Lovely people. Food was ok but not great; the asparagus starter was very modest, the lamb lacked real flavour, although the beef was excellent. Wine list needs work to accompany what could be a top class restaurant. We will revisit in a few months time.

Really enjoyed our evening, charming staff, prompt service, a good menu and excellent food. The only downside is it's very hard to create much atmosphere in a hideous new glass development - but they make the most of what they have

Tom Simmons does a pre-theatre menu, which is handy if you are going to the Bridge theatre round the corner. The food is of a very high quality - real food, as opposed to the mass food of other places in the neighbourhood. The service was also very good: the coffee was slightly late in coming, meaning that we had to rush it in order to leave for the theatre, and we were not charged for it as a result.

In general our experience was very pleasant. Good value for the set theatre menu. However, I would not go again purely because of the lack of comfort of the shaped chairs. After 50 minutes sitting on mine, I had to ask for a cushion which was not available; the chair was that hard. Whilst dining for two an allowance is made for 90 minutes, I would not be able to sit on my chair for that long. Awfully uncomfortable, especially for someone of my age, well over 65!

This was my first time at Tom Simmons, in a group of six. Everyone loved their food, and I’m going back as soon as possible to try more dishes and spend more time there (we had the quick theatre menu). The drinks and service were also good, with the staff deserving special praise. We had dinner at six pm, and it was busy but not too noisy.

Tom Simmons is an excellent restaurant for a pre-Bridge Theatre visit. They have a set pre-theatre menu that is very good value with great choices. I had the salmon tartare which was exquisite, followed by the pan-fried hake--also very good. I was slightly disappointed with the white chocolate cheesecake which was a bit rubbery. My friends had the hot chocolate mousse which they really enjoyed. I should have had that. But all in all, it was good. One soft drink, two glasses of wine and 4 set dinners came to £40 per head which is a good price for London.

I went here prior to a performance at the nearby Bridge Theatre and was very pleasantly surprised. Being a visitor, I'd never heard of the restaurant, but would definitely eat there again. My starter was a very good salmon tartare with a nicely balanced creamed dressing, and my main was the scallops, which were very nicely cooked. Dessert was a light and tasty raspberry pavlova. Each dish was complex without being fussy, and beautifully presented.
