The food was fantastic, starters, multiple main courses all very positive feedback. Only blemish was the small cheesecake on the pre theatre menu - figured they were short of cheesecake. Overall though, would go back time & time again.
This was our third visit to Tom Simmons each as a pretheatre meal prior to visiting The Bridge Theatre. We had the pre theatre menu which isn't the cheapest around but delicious and not too filling. The previous time we had been seated downstairs which I didn't like but I noticed that they now have a large table laid there diagonally and so avoided small tables being positioned under the stairs or next to the disabled toilet. This time we were upstairs which was much more pleasant. Service attentive and a most enjoyable meal.
Pre-theatre menu with friend was absolutely superb. We each had three different and beautifully presented courses, together with a delicious gin cocktail. Would highly recommend.
Greatly enjoyed the mushroom croquette, the jerusalem artichoke veloute, and a delicious cod loin with cauliflower puree, sauted spinich and golden raisins. Nicely prepared and sauced followed by a chocolate mousse with raspberry sorbet. Memorable.
As always the food was outstanding, beautifully presented, with delicious flavours, and the service was friendly and courteous. The only thing I would complain about is the minimal amount of wine you get when you buy an individual glass. We should have complained at the time really - but we were so busy chatting. The first glass can't have been even 125ml, assuming this is what is meant to be served? We ordered a second glass (as so little in the first) and this was an amount we would expect for 125 ml. But we have noticed on previous occasions that the amount isn't what you'd expect for 125ml.
The food is very delicate. It was over our expectations. Thank you so much for this moment. We were celebrating our son's end of school.
Really poor vegan menu, if you advertise it online it should be more than just a few veg sides
A lovely restaurant the food was exquisite
The staff were knowledgeable about the produce used
Saturday lunch time at Tom Simmons was calm and relaxing. We had the lunch set menu which was fantastic value. Very warm and welcoming service. The food was very good and beautifully presented. Only comment was the wild mushroom risotto was tad over salted for my taste but the restaurant was very kind to remove it from our bill without any prompting. Would be keen to revisit soon.
What wonderful amazing fine dining food. Such a hidden gem.
This really is a fantastic restaurant. Dined for lunch today from the set menu and all the food was top quality and great value. The staff are incredibly welcoming and polite and the ambience is lovely.
Lovely staff, great food but the design, decor and music felt like you were in a travel lodge restaurant which detracted from the overall experience and left us feeling overcharged for the privilege considering the amazing food you can get in London for a fraction of the price.
Both the beef and the lamb dishes were wonderful. Good wine. Terrific service. Very quiet and peaceful (but we ate early, before they got busy).
Friendly, helpful staff and the food was fabulous. I have food allergies which can making eating out difficult, but they were happy to adjust the menu for me. Every course was perfect. We will definitely be coming back.
Delicious pre-theatre dinner: inventive, beautiful and scrumptious.
Delicious and delicate menu. The celeriac veloute is wonderfully tasty and subtle - so too the broccoli butter. Lamb loin from the main menu was also beautifully cooked. The pre theatre menu is very good and good value. The wine list is small but very fairly priced. We now come here pretty well every time we come to London.
Fabulos food as always, and I really like being able to have a quick look at the menu online before coming
Amazing food and really welcoming staff.
Extremely good value and one of the best meals for pre theatre
Highly recommend. Everything that we ate was delicious: mushroom croquettes, buratta, scallops, rabbit loin and leg pie. And the chips are indeed excellent. Service was also very friendly and efficient. Not cheap but we certainly felt it was worth it. Will return.
We really enjoyed our lunch. To find both regular and vegan menus was a delight. The gluten free bread was the best I have had in London. The leek and marmite butters were a lovely touch. The wine list offered different wines to the standard and of good quality. All in all good value for money all round. We will go back for sure.
Friendly staff, great service and absolutely delicious food for a pre-theatre meal. Thank you to our main waitress, Chloe, for spot on recommendations for our desserts and attentive service.
The restaurant was a little quiet for a Friday night but the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We will definately make a return visit very soon
Amazing well-prepared food from an interesting menu was added with elegant and considerate service. A great experience.
Despite it's proximity to Tower Bridge, don't expect views of the great landmark.
Enjoyed our meal. Group of 6. Everyone impressed. Staff friendly and knowledgable. Will be back.
It was our anniversary and we had high expectations based on the feedback we reviewed.
Unfortunately our experience wasn’t as good.
We found the menu limited, somewhat over-priced and the location lacked privacy as it is overlooked by the surrounding flats.
The service was okay and the staff friendly but overall a little disappointing, we won’t be returning.
Interesting cooking very well executed. All of the dishes were very good, but the rabbit main stood out.
The loin was cooked perfectly, partnered with a rabbit and mustard pie which added another level. Service throughout was attentive without being overbearing. Was slightly concerned about the quoted time limits, but we stayed much longer and were not pressured at any point.
One of the best meals I’ve had in London. The chips are A MUST
Excellent service, delicious food and great value.
Really good service & food was excellent. Pricey enough but worth it in balance.
Delicious food and friendly service. A bit noisy as there was a private party downstairs and the place is quite open, but quietened a lot when they left.
Otherwise enjoyed it and very convenient for the bridge theatre.
lunch before going to Bridge theatre. Lovely waitresses, prompt service but not rushed.
Three course including glass of wine, so good value. Extra for chips and delicious cabbage.
We all had same starter of salmon, which was excellent. One had the cod and loved it, other had risotto and loved it, l had belly of pork which was succulent but a bit too salty for my taste. Pud was totally yum.
Delicious meal and a relaxed vibe - great occasion for the family birthday that we had gone for
We had a delicious and stylish dinner at Tom Simmons. We were with our daughter and her friend. Atmosphere was fun. Cocktails were inventive and tasty. Food presentation was beautiful. For starters we had short ribs and scallops. Both perfect. For mains, I had lamb - delicious, as was my husband’s duck. Service was attentive. All in all a very enjoyable evening!
We had the two-course set menu before going to the theatre. The food was all delicious, especially the pork belly: three choices for each course, side dishes (delicious chips!) and bread all extra.
Super service and delicious food. A few more veggie / vegan options would be appreciated ... I’m sure Wales has some non-meat / fish delights to share :)
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was neither too fancy nor innovative, but absolutely 'right' and simply delicious. Excellent ingredients, very well prepared, portion size not huge but also not too small. We had the two course lunch combination, a few extras plus side dishes, and came out well below 40 pounds per head, including service charge (attentive and friendly service too). Informal, basic, and still top quality - we will come back!
A lovely meal.
Food was very well presented and tasted excellent
Service is very good and very polite
Tom Simmons is a fantastic restaurant. I have eaten there many times and never been disappointed.
Lovely food. Well presented and great flavours. The marmite butter was fab as were the chips!
