Tom's Lyme Regis
Disappointing meal despite being great reviews and quite high charges.
Amazing food cook and prepared to an amazing standard. Would highly recommend.
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice food, excellent portions.
Superb, as always. Fabulous food, absolutely delightful service.
This was my first time trying oysters, and the staff were super supportive in easing my worries and having a good atmosphere. The catch of the day was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed the pickled vegetables. The food tastes fresh, the restaurant was clean and comfortable and the severs were friendly - what more could you ask for?
Very good but as said by others overpriced great location
Delicious scallops starter and rack of lamb main
Good but not spectacular.
Really lovely food and good service. Enjoyed the monkfish. Worth a visit. A tad overpriced is my only gripe.
Such a lovely spot to look out at the cobb and the lamb cutlets were amazing with rich deep gravy - thoroughly recommend- good value to boot
Good food well presented nice and attentive staff. Good sea front restaurant
The food was good but grossly over priced. We ate a meal in Beer at the Dophin Inn the night before which was just as good but around half the price. They really need to lower their prices.
A great dining experience. Good menu and wine list. Very friendly staff. Service was very efficient. The oysters are to particularly recommended
Tom’s is an amazing fish restaurant. The staff were very attentive. I had beetroot with a goats curd purée figs & walnuts to start which was delicious followed by monkfish and the most tasty cinnamon ice cream. The restaurant is in a great position on the seafront with views of the cob and the bay. Tom and his family source their ingredients locally which is an added reason for choosing to eat at Tom’s.
We had a lovely time a Tom's from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent very tasty. Would 100% recommend
Lovely atmosphere, great location and food was amazing.
Great evening. Watching Tom, at the counter at the back of the restaurant, himself doing the final preparation of each dish before it was taken to the diner's table, was an education in itself. He told us that it's his first restaurant and only opened in July. We congratulated him warmly. The staff were all knowledgeable and friendly, the wine list excellent, and all the food scrumptious!
Fabulous evening to celebrate my 60th birthday. Staff very attentive. Food fabulous. And a wonderful surprise of a happy birthday wish on a plate with ‘to die for’ chocolate brownies. Thank you all
Disappointing overall. Service got off to a bad start with wait for drinks and had to ask for water several times. Beetroot starter and scallops both very good, though husband thought his plaice was over cooked.
Bill 50% more than Antonio’s, where service was very charming and food also good.
Excellent location, food delicious especially the monkfish and John Dory.
Fabulous food and wonderful service . Situated on the sea front with beautiful view.
Very special evening meal watching the sun goes down after spreading our brother’s ashes at sea.
Staff welcoming and helpful and food delicious.
Great food and service - it was a hot day and the restaurant full. The kitchen and waitresses were working as a team and they were all working hard to deliver a top quality experience which they achieved. Very impressed.
Location great, right on the sea front. Food good and cocktails great.
Lovely food. The crab Crockett was delicious. Very enjoyable evening over looking the sea.
The restaurant was very busy which can't be viewed as a criticism. Our food was delivered to our table promptly. My steak was cooked just as it should have been with excellent hand cut chips alongside together with a rich, creamy sauce. My only criticism would have to be the constant chatter & giggling between waitresses when not serving.
Booked as a birthday but no mention of this from staff or offer of anything different for the occasion. Apart from this oversight the service was attentive, polite and efficient. The food was without doubt the highlight and matching the reputation and price point of Tom’s. My only real complaint would be the sheer volume of flies buzzing around the restaurant. The token UV insect lamp sat on a shelf clearly not making any difference.
Best place to eat in Lyme Regis. Best food, with a table on the seaside.
Great food, great wine, great view and great cheese sommelier 😉
Excellent lunch out sat by the sea - good food and service would certainly go back for more
Great location with lovely sea view. Very relaxed ambience and very friendly service. Excellent food, particularly the creamy oysters from Poole and local Lobster. Delicious!
Finally had my first experience of 'surf'n'turf' (the family shared two) - felt assured by short, simple menu we were in a place where it would be done well and I was right. Tasty lobster and tender meat. Lovely staff iand ambience in a great location right by the beach - a good place if you want to splash out on a treat, but family friendly too if bringing the kids.
Hi we had a regally delicious meal. The lobster was amazing as were the scallops. The staff friendly and helpful. Great spot and really enjoyed the wine and flat white!
Excellent service very friendly staff. Meal was good quality and very enjoyable.
Third time we have been to Tom’s. Unfortunately this time was a little disappointing. Found the food to be overpriced (beetroot starter and lobster main) for what we got.
Don’t get me wrong the cod main and chips were delicious and the staff all seem very nice and friendly.
We pointed out how much we enjoyed our first cocktails to the gentleman who had made them, however after this someone else made our next ones and they tasted very different. They were still nice but not quite the same.
We probably won’t be returning and perhaps should have said something about our disappointment at the time. I suppose we didn’t because it wasn’t quite a complaint but more just not up to the standard we had come to expect.
We would possibly recommend to a friend as our experiences have been varied.
The restaurant was one of a few recommended by our Hotel we stayed in locally.
Toms was excellent for the food and attentive service.
Recommended but book ahead.
Menu is pretty high priced for what you get - food is good quality and well presented though
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We enjoyed our dinner and would definitely go again.
Delicious, fresh local food served in a beautiful location. All of staff were wonderful and friendly, the ambience was relaxed yet professional. Well done to all team and we will see you again soon.
We have visited this establishment before and have always been impressed with the standard of food served. However, last night we visited with friends who live in Lyme Regis, the owner/patron was not present that night and the quality of food was sub standard.
Three of us ordered the beetroot and curd starter, the beetroot comprised of 3 small discs and was hard to chew with a runny pink curd which was very unappetising and bland. At first I thought this was the chefs amuse bouche!
The crab croqueta was very tasty.
The Lobster Cafe de Paris was dry and overcooked and was overpowered by the flavour of the paprika, the tail would not release from the shell.
The two servings of breaded fish were over cooked and the fish was dried out.
The chips were not up to the usual standard and were not piping hot and the tartar sauce was liquid and tasted more like a béarnaise sauce.
The service was attentive and professional.
On the whole a thoroughly disappointing meal, we would think twice before returning.
