Tonight & Tomorrow is a beautiful restaurant, with great food, excellent service, and wonderful ambiance. This was my 2nd visit - a birthday with a dear friend - we both loved the visit. We both had red snapper for entrees, and the gingerbread cake with toffee ice cream, and the olive oil cake with dreamscicle ice cream and citrus glaze - it was all fabulous. Can’t wait for next visit.
Tonight and Tomorrow captures all the elegance of a lost time. This is a beautiful restaurant and hotel that makes you forget you are in a big noisy city. We made a reservation for a Thursday night. For some reason I could not get a reservation for 7 pm so chose 6:45. There was no reason for this as the restaurant was almost completely empty. The manager or host came by after we were seated for about 3-4 minutes. I thought he would be our waiter. He took our drink order and said he would let our waiter know. Although I appreciate the service I wonder why our waiter didn't make an appearance until several minutes later. My husband had a craft cocktail and I ordered a $20 glass of champagne (Tattinger) which was really nice. The menu is small but has some nice offerings. We started with the kale salad which we shared. At $15.00 it was huge as were all the items we ordered. I had the seared red snapper served on pureed celeriac root with cabbage and roe. It was divine. My husband had the pork chop which was the size of a large Tbone. He was happy. Both items were deliciously prepared and we ordered a side of spaetzle which was delicious. The wine list is decent but would like to see more American offerings as I am never happy with French wines and just not familiar with Italian and Spanish wines to order. We did have a bottle of Columbia valley red blend which was really nice. Our server picked up his game a bit more as the eveing went on and was actually fine. I have an issue with not being greeted and asked for drink orders within a minute or two of being seated, especially in a restaurant of this calibur and price point. I guess the service industry is suffering the blight of post covid and it's hard to find skilled people to work anymore. Overall I would love to go back. It's quiet, romantic and the meal was well paced and delicious. The atmosphere is the type that I love. Quiet, romantic and not hipster.
Great special space for a nice discussion.
Nice and great for business meeting
From the appetizers to the dessert, the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Dune-themed cocktail menu.
I very, very seldom write reviews even though I eat out two meals a day, everyday, all over the U.S. and overseas as I travel extensively. But I pause to write now because of the extraordinary experience at Tonight and Tomorrow. I suppose it is not extraordinary for an excellent restaurant to be beautiful and warm, or for the food to be very well prepared and delivered to the table hot, or for the service to be friendly and attentive without being cloying. We expect all of these things in fine dining and Tonight and Tomorrow delivers on all counts in spades. But I write because in addition to this, the waiter and management displayed an awareness and concern for my guest and me, frankly unparalleled in my dining experiences in the U.S. or Europe. They have made my guest and I fans and patrons for life.
This restaurant is located right off the lobby of the La Colombe d'Or hotel. The decor is absolutely beautiful, understated and elegant.
We started with the fried oysters and the date and goat cheese salad. Both were delicious. The sauce served with the oysters was particularly tasty. Slightly more acidic/tart than a remoulade and it accented the oysters perfectly.
I had the short ribs and my date had the pork chop. They both were served at the perfect temperature and were beautifully presented. The gnocchi served with the short ribs were slightly more doughy than I prefer, but they still accompanied the entrée well.
Our server was nothing short of fantastic. We had a little bit of a dietary restriction to adhere to keto. He was able to quickly make some suggestions to the paired sides and made the entire process painless. Also, when one of our mixed drinks wasn't quite to our liking, he whisked the drink away and made suggestions.
All in all, this is a fantastic restaurant and I would not hesitate to dine here again.
Not enough servers. Food mediocre.
A quiet Sunday morning, liked that this place was open early. The food was great - good portions. Also the interior of this place is beautiful and classy.
Great food, service, atmosphere… perfect special occasion or date night.
Had a great time here. It's feels exclusive but with a relaxed environment. Food was great and so was the staff.
Beautiful first time experience. The waitress recommended fabulous tasty options. I highly recommend for any special occasion.
It was a wonderful experience.
It was an excellent dinner & David our server was excellent ! Our food was delicious ! The lamb shank was outstanding in its glazed sauce.! The ambiance was beautiful and serene. Perfect date night! We will be back! We highly recommend this jewel in Houston!
Christmas Day brunch with my wife - beautiful setting, very relaxed.
Christmas Day Brunch was very nice. We sat at the bar and Dean, who is very personable was terrific. Our mimosas and egg dishes were great.
Lox and bagel and crab ravigote was delicious. The decor is so beautiful.
Great food and atmosphere
Have dined in both the bar and restaurant and everything, food and service have been fantastic.
Food was tasty but cold. Service was lacking, it took >1 hour from being seated and ordering to receiving food. Beautiful ambiance.
Overall lovely, perhaps brunch on a Sunday during the busy month of December during COVID days might not be prime time to go? Service was slow, a different person attended to us with every transaction, in other words we did not have the same server from drinks, to food service to bringing the orders to handing over the check. (no idea who to tip).
The food was cold, I added a poached egg to my avocado toast and it was solid cold (gave me indigestion)
Atmosphere is very lovey, very French, beautiful art on the walls, the warmest part of the brunch was the valet service.
The environment was absolutely outstanding. Some of the best decor I have seen. Food was solid. The only issue was the service was a tad bit slow for us. That didn't seem to be a problem for the surrounding tables though. Overall, I would absolutely recommend
Great staff food ambiance quiet but… miss communication with order taker and chef…. Too long for main course to appear… by then we were tired and unhappy no matter what….
Beautifully refurbished. The food and service were excellent. Really enjoyed walking into a restaurant where the staff, ambience and clientele still make going for dinner an experience. I felt like I was in London or New York for a few hours.
Fantastic evening with wonderful food and great service.
Excellent food and service
So good! The ambience was relaxed and quiet but the food and drink selection spoke for themselves!
Loved this place and will certainly be back. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially the art. While my eggs Benedict was slightly over done it was still great and everyone else at our table loved their brunch.
Great as always
Excellent food- good pork chop and oysters.
Eat on the porch to see the fountain.
I rarely am compelled to write negative reviews and I do so now reluctantly. We have been hearing and reading very positive reviews of this restaurant, particularly its Sunday brunch, that we decided to try it last Sunday for my adult daughter's birthday. The restaurant itself is lovely and, clearly, a lot of time and money were spent on its renovation. The hostess sat us promptly in an almost deserted dining room and then the fun (or lack thereof) began. After 15 minutes, a waiter appeared to pour water. It then took another 10 minutes or so to get menus. The menu is VERY limited, which we knew in advance, but they didn't have the oysters or crab which we wanted to have as appetizers. We settled for a caesar salad and chickpea fries. The caesar salad was acceptable but the so-called fries were thick slabs of chickpea flour toasted in oil and had no taste whatsoever. I ordered the eggs benedict which were okay and my daughter ordered the steak and eggs, which were also okay. Our other party ordered the lox and bagels and that's when everything went seriously awry. The ingredients were thrown carelessly on the plate and assembly was almost impossible. The salmon was tasteless and certainly did not qualify as lox. Needless to say, the dish was returned to the kitchen. We finished the meal and wine and left. We will not return.
The front staff was looking at their phones the whole time.
We had to request menus.
The lobby was being vacumed so that was irritating.
Our waiter was slow and apathetic. We always had to ask for refills etc.
Food was great. Service not so much.
The resturant is beautiful hands down. Service was good but it was very loud. The food was okay and perhaps I would have liked it more if they had not been out of two things I wanted. It’s poor that at a 8:00 reservation they are already out of one of the main dishes. Would not return for a date night.
We were seated in a sun room which was so cold that we had to wear our outside jackets for the entire meal. Even though I had arranged the dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday and both the hostess and server acknowledged this, during the meal there was absolutely no reference to her celebration. This was very disappointing
Horrible service, they sat us on the outside patio where it was dirty, no other tables around and they kept forgetting about us
The food was fantastic! LOVED the French Onion Soup. The server didn't seem to go with the restaurant. Not as professional and attentive as I thought a server should be at a place like this. Maybe he was having an off night. Maybe he was new. Either way, I was not impressed. Also, I thought it was interesting that the table beside us was not fully cleared while we were there, even though the guests left about 45 minutes prior to us leaving. It is unprofessional to leave dirty dishes on a table for that long. The servers went by the table numerous times. And the restaurant was not busy at all.
Great reimagining of this space. Went for brunch and had a wonderful time. One of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Definitely returning.
What a beautiful place to dine--so much art and elegance. The staff was caring and professional. The food was very tasty. The lunch menu is a little limited, but there are enough choices to suit most people. Maybe brunch next time...
This place is a little gem in the city! The pictures on the website don't do it justice, the interior is beautifully remodeled. We were greeted at the reception for our lunch reservation, and given the option of any open table. The dining room is bright and overlooks a lovely outdoor dining space and patio. Food was good, onion soup and cobb salad. Service was great, our server told us about the refurbishment and hotel facilities. Suggested we take a look around before we leave. The lady at reception happily took us on a tour of the hotel and the bungalows. I will be going back to try the bar and dinner options soon!
