Fun
Tonteria - the mad Mexican tapas lounge and nightclub in Sloane Square.
During the early evening, Tonteria specialises in Tequila cocktails and mouth-watering Mexican tapas. We believe sharing is caring and have created some famous sharing cocktails inspired by Mexico’s heritage and culture, this includes: “The Mayan Pyramid”, we dare you to try them. As the evening approaches, the DJ swifts gears whilst the lights dim and Tonteria turns into a fun and festive nightclub. While here look out for the Tonteria performers and the toy train that delivers shots to your table.
We look forward to welcoming you at Tonteria.

The most misleading thing in the world. This is not a restaurant, it is night club with some munchies tapas. Ridiculous. Should not be on open table as a restaurant.

Hi Guillermo, thank you for your feedback, this is important to us. I'm sorry you felt misled but it's clearly stated that we're a Mexican Tapas Lounge and not a classic restaurant. "Tonteria - the mad Mexican tapas lounge and nightclub in Sloane Square." We turn into a nightclub from 11pm only, therefore I hope you enjoyed your experience during the early hours. We hope to see you again! We offer delicious frozen margaritas and I'd be delighted to offer you one on the house! Warmest, Alice

Great service once seated, was a challenge to get seated even though we reserved a table. To be fair that’s the only complaint, the service and food and drink were top notch once inside. Our party stayed for the club and was great fun, shout out to Gaf who helped us.

Unfortunately the place was empty when we went there although it was a Friday night, so we couldn't feel the atmosphere.
The food was good, the service cold/sometimes unpleasant.
The deco is nice but I would not go back. It is not a good venue for price/ambiance/quality ratio...

It’s totally empty, no other guests. Even though we’re the only ones there they do not pay attention to us. You sit at the VIP nightclub tables so it is very sticky and not pleasant. Their menu is limited and the food is not particularly good. No flavors at all. Do not recommend going here for dinner.

We thought this was a tapas bar. Only 6 items on the whole menu, the tapas “mains” were a tiny snack at best. No prosecco. Very loud music and turned into a club at 10.30pm. Quirky decor and slow service. Average age group 20!

Poor service, we had to constantly repeat our orders/requests. Although the ambience is fun and vibrant, it is not worth the price - food quality was pretty low, great presentation of the tapas and drinks however.

This place is worth avoiding. The worst door service I’ve ever experienced - rude and AGRESSIVE men who manhandled a girl for having her shoes off under the table because they hurt. Extremely overpriced with a service plus a random £2 per person cover charge. Basic food. Awful European music. Tiny. Stay away!

Food and drinks were great, but service was lacking. Took way to long to get food, seemed like we were forgotten and/or not cared about since there was only two of us. Other, bigger tables were served quicker and better.
Been there before and the showing with masks and sound/lighting and train running was more intense previously which was a slight disappointment now.
Love the place in general though, so hoping it was just a blip.

We went in for dinner as this is both a restaurant and later turns into a club. At 8pm, we were charged a cover charge of 2 pounds per person even though we were eating at the restaurant. We were mainly ignored by the waiters as we were the only people in the place and they were doing their makeup in the hallway to prepare for whatever party was on that evening. I'm sure it's a fine place for dancing but don't bother going for dinner.

Air conditioning was blowing in all directions and the venue was like a FRIDGE. There was actually no way of escaping it. Asked for it to be turned down, the waiter turned it off - problem solved - only for another waiter to turn it back on and refuse to turn it back off stating that when the venue turns into a club in a few hours time it would be hot.
It was so cold i was shivering along with my friend - i actually cant desribe how cold it was!
It's august in london and we were literally shivering and I'm never one to feel the cold, I'm normally always hot. It ruined the whole night and we were genuinely so physically uncomfortable - so were the other customers who all put jackets on and left early! I've never left a review before but I'm genuinely angered by the lack of consideration from the manager/senior waiter/whoever it was who wouldnt let it be turned off/turned down.
