Tony D's is a trendy pizzeria that also offers traditional Italian dishes. The restaurant is popular for its authentic signature pizzas. It makes each one from scratch using only fresh and high quality ingredients. The ambiance at Tony D's is modern, vibrant and sleek with a young and trendy atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a full-service bar where guests can enjoy their favorite drinks.
Begin the meal with an appetizer like marinated meatballs cooked in a classic red sauce, crispy calamari served with house special sauce or the shrimp scampi. Diners are welcome to create their own pizzas at Tony D's. Topping options include tomatoes, onions, peppers, chicken, beef, shrimp, crab and more. Guests can also dig into an entree like penne a la vodka or the pan roasted veal rib chop.
Unbearably loud in the bar area spilling over into the dining room. We were there at 5:30 in the afternoon too! We couldn't even hear each other. Then we waited 20 minutes before we left . They never even took our drink orders yet and the first thing she said was that the "bar was behind". They suck!
Everything was great except the music was too loud for good conversation.
We went in on Friday night a party of 5. The noise level was so terrible that we ordered appetizer and that was it. We couldn't hear each other talk. The music was loud, then add people trying to talk over that it was unbearable. WE left as quickly as we could.
The food was great and our server was friendly and attentive. The only negatives: my drink was cleared away with at least another sip left and my fiance was still working on the piece of pizza on his plate when it was taken out from in front of him. We got drinks, appetizers, and entrees and were in and out within 50 minutes. It was a busy Friday night and they were on a wait, so I understand wanting to turn tables quickly, but we felt a tad rushed. It's also very noisy. Overall, we'll go back!
Aside from waiting an hour after the reservation, service was horrible, after the hour waiting we waited another hour to get appetizers when both tables around us were seated after us and were served appetizers and meal prior to us receiving our appetizer! Refills had to be requested and usually required grabbing attention of the waiter as he approached on occasion!
The arancini appetizer was amazing! The food is always great here and we had a beautiful table with a view. One of us got the steak (perfectly cooked) and the others got a specialty pizza and beet and orange salad that they said was fabulous. Great meal! Will definitely come back!
We had a lovely evening -- good food, good wine and a delightful waitress!
Fabulous appetizers and entrees, enjoyed a cocktail at the bar beforehand. Service and hostess all friendly and professional. We will be back.
We enjoyed: meatballs al forno, stuffed clams, Sunday pasta dinner, house salad, bread and balsamic & oil dip, espresso.
Drinks were average and somewhat pricey: Manhatten cocktail, riesling wine, Bailey's coffee.
Service was good but I prefer that when our server asks how something is, they walk away as you answer without the courtesy of looking at you when you reply.
It was ok, we thought it was a little loud in there and the food was just ok. I would probably go to an other restaurant before I'd go back.
Wasn’t blown away by the food. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t as good as we were expecting.
But I feel it is over priced for what you actually get. I will probably not go again.
Pizza was good, meatballs we’re very bland. No draft beer.
A bit loud, I preferred it when the patio was blocked off, but otherwise excellent!
What a great place to eat on Sunday evening. Awesome waiter, food and cocktails!
Our meal was exceptional, staff very attentive, this is one of our favorite places to dine.
The food was good, and there was a nice view of the Genesee River, but it was almost unbelievably loud. It was impossible to hear anyone at the table without shouting, and consequently impossible to take much pleasure in the experience.
I wanted to take my wife somewhere nice. We wanted great food at a great price, and that is exactly what we got. We sat next to the window and had the view of the river, which was amazing. The staff were all very kind, polite, and helpful. This is one of my top five favorite Rochester restaurants, and will be bringing my wife back for our anniversary.
It’s always an awesome dining experience at Tony D’s. It takes me back to my childhood. I’m very picky when it comes to Italian food and here they knock it out of the park.
Wonderful as always.
I’ve been raving about our dinner to anyone and everyone! We had a wonderful time sitting at the Chef’s counter-watching all the action.
I highly recommend Tony D’s!!
Way too noisy in the main eating area. Food is great the ambience and noise make it not so good.
food was very good portions were excellent severer was attentive to our needs .sever was aware of occasion and made mention of it lover all we were will feed not rushed and enjoyed our selves thank you
There was barely anybody in the restaurant so the hostess could have sat us in a much nicer location.
Great food as always and there a a beautiful area to sit outside on warm evenings
Food was very good , service was fast ! Beautiful view. Just a little loud , i couldn’t hear my own table talking because those around us were so loud . Other than that i can’t complain . Mike was our server , he was great! It was my bday and they brought me out a complimentary cannoli which was so awesome !
The pizza was delicious! Especially the crust! Had the best ceasar salad ever!!
Always a great meal and great service and Tony D's!!!
The food taste and the dish prep,(visual), is like eating at home. Great taste and aroma! We ,(anyone I brought), really like whatever we get. Grazie !
Like many Italian Restaurants the atmosphere was great with family and friends getting together to enjoy a fine meal and great company, yes the volume was loud but that's what you get with a great meal.
I sat outside on the deck and it was fine, my food was served hot and fresh and full of great taste, I plan on returning in the near future.
I went to Tony D's because we received a gift card and had heard great things. We were there early evening on a weekend (5:30ish) so the noise was there, but not surprising for a beautiful day in the summer. We ordered a salad, arancini, and the pork osso bucco. We also got a glass of wine and a moscow mule. The mule was great and very gingery. Everything came out very quickly. Our salad was good. The arancini came out cold. I understand if they premade them for a busy weekend night but that was disappointing. On the flip side the pork was excellent and perfectly cooked. It fell off the bone. All in all, if we had paid full price for the meal I would have felt a bit disappointed but it was still a good experience.
Great food and plenty of space to sit outdoors while waiting for a table
Food is fantastic! Hreat bar and wine list. Nice to be on the water too.
Diner was delicious! My waitress was fabulous! A perfect place to take a date. Will definitely be back!
Per usual, the food at Tony D's was delicious (mainly the giant meatballs served for an appetizer). Our server was attentive , the main courses did not disappoint, and we will certainly be back soon. The only downside to the restaurant is the noise level, it can be incredibly loud. Once the crowd died down towards the end of the night it was much more pleasant.
The service was great from the very beginning to the end. The hostess was very sweet the waiter was wonderful. The food was so good the shrimp cocktail was super size and my steak was to die for.
Delicious food as always. Great hospitality. We were seated on time and did not feel rushed.
We had a good experience dining at Tony D's on Friday. We have usually had gret experiences there!!
Our daughter's rehearsal dinner was there July 4th of this year. it was great.
My son got engaged outside of the restaurant and then had dinner there last fall. Lots of good memories and dinners.
Wait service was slow. Was seated underneath a speaker which made it very loud.
This establishment IS NOT easily handicap accessible so if dining with an individual in a walker or wheelchair ( as we were) it is a struggle to get the person to their table.
We sat for an hour and 15 minutes to be told our food wasnt prepared right. They gave us a salad to "share" and then 10 minutes later said our food was almost ready. Ten minutes after that I just wanted to leave. They comped us with a free appetizer. Still paid $70 for two dinners that we ate the next day.... :-(
