Based on reviews I had seen I thought I was going to be wowed by Tortilla Press. I wasn't exactly wowed, but everything was good. I was a little underwhelmed by the spice profile of the food overall. I was expecting a little more heat, and got very little. If you are looking for good food and good service at a reasonable price, this is a good restaurant for you.
I find the food inconsistent. Some things are good and some are just meh. The menu could use some updating to come in line with some of the great options for contemporary Mexican. Overall the dishes are indistinct and not very memorable.
Every entree came out wrong. Even went sent back, they still came back messed up. The manager tried to fix, but it just wasn't right. The cooks need to be trained better and learn the menu.
Food was very good. Background music was enjoyable.

Place is still good! As we have not been here in a few years it was a pleasant surprise that
everything was still good. We love Chef owned & operated places as they tend to keep
everything on point. Only disappointment was that the Tortilla soup was NOT available.
But, we tried the Mexican pizza and found a new delight.

Have dined many times at Tortilla Press and this was the first time I was ever disappointed. Maybe because it was Monday? Lunch was very lackluster which is unusual for this restaurant. Service was pleasant and friendly - no problem there!
The quality of the food at this restaurant has gone down from what it used to be a few years ago. I used to come here and everyone would love everything that was ordered. The ingredients used to be fresh and the meal used to be made to order. Now I'm not so sure. I came here about six months ago and had the steak fajitas, which used to be delicious. Six months ago, the steak tasted terrible. It was not at all the same quality of meat that I was used to from this restaurant. This past visit I came with a party of four, two of whom had never been here and wanted to try it. I opted for the black bean and rajas burrito with chicken. The chicken was ice cold. My friend who also ordered a burrito with chicken had the same problem. We sent them back and got reheated food that tasted reheated. The shell of the burritos were also crispy now, which means it was n a microwave too long or put in an oven without bothering to remove the shell. Either way, that chicken was not good. My boyfriend's mixed fajitas (steak and shrimp) were "ok" and our other friend's sweet potato burrito was "good." The Mexican pizza was topped with that same terrible chicken and no one was happy about how it tasted. The cheesesteak empanadas, however, were delicious. Our waiter was very nice and apologized about the burritos, and it wasn't his fault, but after two poor experiences where the meat has been wrong, I think I'm done here. It's a shame because the food used to be really good.
Overall a great experience. I had the nachos and they were incredible, but were huge!
We enjoyed dinner on a busy Friday night. The atmosphere was noisy but fun. The menu looked great with lots of tasty options. We had ribs and beef fajitas. The carrot curry soup was delish on a cold night. Looking forward to going back to try other items.
We have been going to Tortilla Press for many years and have always had great food and excellent service. Was a very nice Friday night dinner date with the Mrs.
My family went there for a vegan meal. The options are the best in terms of quality, flavor, and variety, across the river from Philly. Tortilla Press dropped off my list of places to go when they eliminated vegan brunch options, leaving almost nothing for us to eat. Now the choices (and there are lots of them) are fantastic! And your non-vegan friends can eat there, too!
Absolutely one of my top three in Collingswood. Fantastic, creative cuisine with great service. Mark Smith, the owner came over to us twice to check in; he changed out seat when I mentioned that we were close to a door. He must have been within ear shot because I said it softly. He moved us to a 4 top. As I told Mark, "We will be back."
Warm and cozy lunch on a snowy day. You can always count on The Tortilla Press for a great meal at a reasonable price. Server was attentive.
Good food. Service a bit slow during a weekday lunch. Very nice menu items. Guacamole and salsa first rate. Would definitely return.
We looked forward to a lunch with a relative on Chritmas Eve day. The restuarant was essentially empty. I ordered enchilladas with mole sauce. The meal was no hot when served and the mole was caked on rather than being a sauce.
We went to Tortilla Press for Christmas Eve Brunch. We had a party of nine with two small children. Service was excellent, personable and efficient, which is important when little kids are included. We all enjoyed our meals.

This place is one of my favorites. They have really delicious food and a lot of vegetarian options. Atmosphere is cute and cozy, perfect for a date or with friends.
The food was very tasty. We especially enjoyed the cauliflower burrito. The bean soup was good, but too rich for us. We would have preferred a lighter broth. The jackfruit tacos were good but I thought they needed to be shredded more. The brownie was very good but did not need the spice.
Food is always awesome. I had the salmon with mango salsa, which was prepared to perfection. I also recommend the guacamole and plantains. I love they have a specials menu which changes by the season allowing you to enjoy the seasonally fresh ingredients. One of my favorites is the corn in the summer time.

I’m so grateful to have superb vegan options instead of just beans and rice. The squash soup was rich and delightful and the jackfruit burrito was a delicious display of craftsmanship. Overall it was an impressive meal, service, and ambience. I look forward to new and inventive vegan options.
We've heard about the restaurant for a couple of years and finally had an opportunity to try it and we were really happy with our experience. Our waitress was on point, the food was excellent and the value was good. If I had known they served wine before dessert it would have been perfect, a glass or 2 of sangria would be perfect with most items on their menu. The kids menu options were great and our 5 year old LOVED his american style tacos (photo uploaded).
Service was slow to start - food was fair at best-
Carnitas tacos lacked flavor and filling-
Short rib empanada was disappointing- the empanadas had more of a pastry texture- again no depth of flavor in the short rib -
It's not often you get dinner and a show.
Our server kept pronouncing mole' as mole (no 'ay'). She also referred to the red sauce as spaghetti sauce, and said it was the same thing. Prior to ordering, I asked for and received samples of two of their sauces. She presented me two small cups of the sauces that allowed me to taste them. Both were tasty and I looked forward to sampling them again with my food. I asked if the enchiladas could be made with flour tortillas instead of corn and was quite surprised she questioned my choice. She said ‘Are you sure you want to do that?’, and kind of looked down on me because of my selection. I also asked for the enchiladas to be prepared with the red (spaghetti) sauce. Upon ordering she attempted to take the sauce samples. I politely declined. She did submit my request to the kitchen and my enchiladas were prepared with flour tortillas.
Another server delivered our entrees and cautioned us the plates were hot. The plates were hot, the food was mildly warm, but it was warm enough to eat...
She saved the big surprise for the end of the meal. We asked for containers as the servings were more than we could eat. Upon bringing the containers, she commented 'let me do that for you' and proceeded to pick up one of the plantains with her fingers to place it in the container. Unfortunately / fortunately, it was stuck to the plate. My wife and I both looked at each other with a combination of surprise, appall, shock, and amazement as she struggled to get the plantain off of the plate. At this point, we just wanted out of there. I hope the plantains enjoyed the ride home and the ensuing trip to the trash. I do have to say the plantains were some of the best I ever had.
The food was good. The service was terrible.
First time after seeing on Facebook. Lots of choices in menu, including chef's seasonal menu. I had Chili Relleno's, which were outstanding! Black beans had a lot of good flavor. Spouse had Carne Asada, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Outstanding flavor! Did not have the guacamole, which is made fresh when ordered. We will get that the next time we visit!
We have been there many times. It is consistently good. We had a great server (Chaz). Attentive, but gave us space. No rushing. Like that it is BYOB!
My husband and I have eaten at The Tortilla Press in the past and had a decent experience --unfortunately that is no longer the case. We did not have a reservation ( my bad) and the hostess boy said the wait was "1-2 hrs" ( yea right...) Anyway, we agreed to wait. While waiting I decided to look on OpenTable to see if there were any sooner openings since it really didn't look that packed..sure enough there was plenty of availability with the next opening being in 15 mins. I booked it and made the hostess aware..he did seat us but was obviously not happy about it. Whatever moving on... So we ordered a ceviche appetizer which the waitress forgot to bring out so we had that with our terrible entrees that were very overpriced. My husband ordered mahi which looked as bad as it tasted and I had fajitas which were cold and not seasoned. We will not be returning -- better off eating at Taco Bell.
We had an INCREDIBLE meal. Our server (Jenny) was kind, courteous and funny. We ordered a ton of appetizers, split them all family style. We can't wait to go back again!

Outstanding and friendly service! Alex was our waiter and he couldn't have been more accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed our meals. Excellent food.
From the moment you walk in your greeted by a lively and bubbly hostess.
This is our second time there in a month and the food and service is just wonderful. My wife has special diet restrictions and the manager and chef will work with you to make your meal delightful. Overall a big recommendation.
