One of the oldest Tandoori restaurants in London has had a makeover, with lovely new decor and lighting, but it still offers the same sumptuous Indian cooking that has made it a favourite for over 40 years. The light, bright frontage leads into a warm, modern stucco dining room with mocha leather seating and traditional artwork and pierced metal wall lights. The menu includes dishes like starter of adrakhi lamb chops and chilli paneer, main courses of murgh makhani and mughlai lamb shank, or one of the many expert tandoori dishes. Add some naan, raita, rice and a glass of complementing wine from the well devised drinks list, and you'll be glad you made the trip.
Wine Recommendations: Dry White. Cardamon and rhubarb marinated king prawns chargrilled in the tandoor
Wine Recommendations: Full Bodied Red, Succulent baby lamb shank cultured overnight in spices and pan cooked in a medium spiced curry. Served with pilau rice
Wine Recommendations: Ros, Medium Red. Home made soft cheese cooked with spicy spinach
Big portion sizes, nice atmosphere and tasty food. Good service too
The service was amazing- staff attentive and accommodating! It was quite pricey but food is tasty- quite authentic and every dish had it's own flavour.
I had my birthday here last weekend. The food, service and ambience were excellent, as ever. Everyone enjoyed their food and would recommend it to everyone.
Food excellent as ever. Restaurant was very busy as a Saturday night, staff were attentive but food was a bit slower than would normally be expected.
Good food, excellent customer service, fantastic value for money.
We were a table of 8 at lunch time on a Saturday and were the only customers, so it was quiet!
Didn't realise that they closed at 2.30, so time was a bit tight and we weren't able to have as leisurely meal as we had hoped. Food was very good and service good.
Spoilt by people bring in screaming kids in the evening
Went with no expectations but the food was decent and the staff were friendly. Would go again.
Excellent restaurant indien, cuisine bien épicée. Carte de vin correcte. 80£ à 2 avec entrée, plat et une bouteille de vin.
Very accommodating and EXCELLENT cuisine. Special was just as described. Helped us out with transportation back to hotel, as well. Could not have been nicer!
Food was really good.
Specially set menu ambiance need lot of work.
Exceptional service,is what we received. My wife & i had gone for a meal to mark our 22nd wedding anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised to see some 'fireworks' arranged for her at the end of our meal! Very ingenious & thoughtful indeed!
Table was very small and were very close to others, was awkward with large plates and sides and drinks. Had to order water several time before getting it. The food was not bad and the portions were ok. Staff were friendly but not very attentive. Cocktails were not very good in comparison to price. Food price was neither cheap nor expensive but all in all was pretty average.
Excellent value and lower prices than expected for London
Friendly and courteous service - very rare nowadays. Massive food portions. Very enjoyable.
Very good tandoori chicken
Great nan bred and nice service
This was the worst Indian food I have ever head, which is sad because we were so excited to dine there. The chicken tikka masala tasted extremely sugary, as if somebody accidentally put in sugar instead of salt. I'm usually a pretty chill customer and will eat mostly anything, but I really couldn't get through more than a few bites of this dish. The garlic naan had no flavor, despite having chunks of garlic on it, and was definitely under-baked. The only good thing I had was the mango lassi, which was quite delicious. Overall, very disappointed with this experience.
Dear Customer Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy your Tower Tandoori experience. It was unfortunate that you did not notify the manager on the day, in order for us to replace the food you felt was not upto standard, however this is not your fault! Just to clarify, the Chicken Tikka Massala is an Anglo Indian dish which is creamy, rich and sweet. We hope you will return on another occasion and give us a second chance. Best Wishes Sam
Excellent Service! Food is very very good! You do not need to pay high price to get good food! Here at Tandoori, food is excellent and price is right! Highly recommended.
Superb service and just great food. Love love love this place. I’ve been coming for 15 years. Here’s to another 15!
Incredible service at tower tandoori, everyone was polite, lovely and caring, as well as very well-timed!
Lovely place to eat .very friendly service also beat tandoori restaurant in London.will be back soon
The food was acceptable though small portions. There was a large party directly behind us with kids running around screaming. The service was very rushed - we were in no more than 40 minutes - and
it seemed like the staff couldn't wait to turn the table around. Very disappointing, especially considering that this was a special occasion.
Excellent customer service, food was more Bengali Indian style. Very good taste. Had a wonderful time.
Really great food and enjoyable experience all round. I am a regular visitor and I am always warmly welcomed. Will continue to visit!
Great service and lovely food! Thank you
Brilliant curry house. Food was fantastic. Best onion bhajis in London.
Good meal, as always service slow and a little distracted, maybe just busy.
Spot on as usual.... food never disappoints, a very enjoyable Sunday lunch ..10/10 today ... first time I’ve took my daughter and she wants to come back 👍🏻
This place is overpriced for the quality of food and service you getting.
I was very disappointed when they called me after I left my review on Google. I have right to express my opinion.
Always a good curry. love the fact they are happy to make me one of my favourite dishes that is not on their current menu. friendly staff and an overall clean and well presented restaurant.
Best and authentic Indian food in Bermondsey. All waiters were attentive, meals are well presented. The Pistachio ice cream was delicious - not enough, needed more !!
So to be clear this is not a Benares Michelin type restaurant but its a solid place for Trying Indian curry house food the way most brits do. We went with a party of 9 and the whole experience was pretty flawless.
We had booked a table at Tower Tandoori to round off a day in London visiting a number of sights.
We turned up a little early as we were hungry... and received a very warm welcome. All the time we were there we were very well looked after. It felt like we were regular customers that had been going for years.
And the food... fantastic... everything we had was fresh and well cooked with amazing flavours. When paying the bill I asked the waiter that had been looking after us if they would consider opening a restaurant close to where we live... it was that good.
We would definitely return on any future London trips.
The food at Tower Tandoori was really good. In particular, the chicken was very tender like I have never had it before. Unfortunately, they gave us a wrong order and did not put in much effort to rectify this which was quite disappointing.
I came here with 9 other people and we all really enjoyed our experience. The food was really good and the service was amazing!
Food was excellent, Sunday banquet was great value for money. Service was also very good.
Very solid, Indian food at a reasonable price. Just right, for a dinner with family or friends.
The food was too dry , Nan were so small with so expensive price.
The taste was ok and not really authentic Indian type. The service was good though. Not really worth to go again.
The food is amazing. The staff are so friendly.
