Wonderful atmosphere with great food and lovely staff.
Brunch was lovely and the host was very pleasant. The cocktails were the right strength if a little expensive.
Had a lovely meal in tasteful surroundings when we return to ramsgate, we will definitely eat here again. Many thanks to the staff for their good service.
Excellent food. The steak was perfect and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Highly recommended.
Great atmosphere, good food, lovely drinks menu and beautiful surroundings. Service was exceptional, particularly the wine waiter, highly recommended, we will be back 👍
Family birthday lunch. Superior food, excellent wine and other drinks. Service was attentive and polite and the price was exceptional. Would recommend. Will certainly be going there again.
delicious sunday roast - really great views and lovely atmosphere
Excellent food and service, lovely room and very good value
Very elegant looking restaurant, very polite and friendly staff. Although the atmosphere was a little bit too quiet for me, felt like everyone could hear my conversation.
About the food: I've had a Sunday roast and it was delicious, meat was so soft and tasty. Portion size was just right, perfect amount of everything.
Overall, I've had a lovely time and enjoyed my experience at Townley's. Would definitely recommend it. Will be trying a Saturday brunch next time!
Normally Townleys is very good in every way but menu was only breakfast (it was 1.30pm) service was very poor and was very cold in the room
Beautiful room - candle lit (too dark for some)
Menu doesn’t sound very exciting but it was very good. Nice fish platter and lamb chops very tasty
Great sommelier- friendly and knowledgeable
Received a pleasant welcome from the staff. Good menu and the food was excellent. The cod loin was "just right" and a generous portion. The fruit crumble dessert was in a class of its own and again, a generous portion. The French waiter was particularly attentive and engaged conversation. We will certainly return and recommend.
Lovely Brunch with friends, good food and good service
Little disappointed with the limited lunch menu and overall effort for lunch. Booked as a birthday treat and didn’t live up to expectations. It seems that all effort goes into the evening.
Very nice ambience, polite and friendly service and good food. Can't really ask for more!
We had a very nice meal with staff being very helpful, the food was lovely. We were not rushed to make choices for our meal, we were able to take our drinks after the meal into the lounge and the whole evening was relaxed and comfortable in the current climate.
Brilliant meal. Lovely service. Would highly recommend
Not a great dinner. The service was poor, food very average and my area was not very clean. Letting customers with a dog in the dining room without asking other patrons is really bad practice, especially in the current Covid situation. On the plus side, my coffee and cocktail were delicious.
This was a very mixed bag. We've had drinks before at Townley's. The setting is stunning, the room is beautiful. Overall the experience of dinner was 'ok'. Drinks were good. Service was mixed - some staff were very attentive - but overall it was patchy. I was offered to review my drink, no one returned to check. Food was also a mixed bag. A fairly limited menu. Some good dishes, some very average. One table had dogs (quiet at first, admittedly, then very noisy). It ended up feeling like pub quality at restaurant prices. There are great chefs in Ramsgate, in smaller venues. I think some clarity is needed on what Townley's want to achieve overall. Higher end dining, or a welcoming, informal restaurant feel?
I'm not able to provide a rating on the food or service of the restaurant as having arrived at the venue, we were told that the kitchen had already been closed for 30 minutes. Not great when you've been on the road for 2 hours from London and are looking forward to a nice meal.
I've given one extra star for the service from the maître d' who was apologetic and was able to direct us to another restaurant at the end of the pier for food.
Great food, outstanding value for money. Nice room, relaxed atmosphere.
Wonderful Sunday lunch! Surpassed our expectations.. every element beautifully cooked and presented.. the cauliflower cheese was an added bonus. Chicken and beef both tender and delicious. The dining room is really beautiful and well aired - we would definitely return. Excellent value for money.
We went there for Breakfast with friends and we all really enjoyed the food and the quality of ingredients. One of the best breakfasts in the area if not the best
Food excellent and service very good. Would go back again and again if I lived nearer.
We loved our lunch visit to Townley’s. We arrived at 2:30pm so missed the busy lunch time service but there were still a few tables full and it had a relaxed atmosphere to it. Food is delicious and v well priced. We had a wonderful French waiter whose name I didn’t get but he was so attentive and friendly. Overall, just very relaxed and a great atmosphere. I’d definitely go back!
Class perfect top quality food first class service fantastic venue view from bay window in lounge area brilliant
An excellent choice of venue with well cooked and presented food in elegant but un-stuffy surroundings.
Very attentive staff, good value with a really atmospheric bar/dining area.
Tables well laid out in line with covid protocols unlike some places.Really nice lunch and experiance
A lovely breakfast - we both enjoyed our mushrooms, eggs and spinach on sourdough
We particularly enjoyed our shared seafood platter starter. The smoked mackerel pate was outstanding. the waiter was very knowledgeable about wine
Friendly, welcoming staff. Our waitress was delightful and very attentive without being intrusive. We were aware that only a Brunch Menu was available - I presume that providing a Lunch Menu as well would just not be cost effective in these difficult times for the hospitality industry. This was not a problem for us and there was plenty of choice.
The food was good, but not a lot of thought went into the presentation. However, if that's all we have to adversely comment on I can only say 'Thank you' for a really pleasant experience.
The food was nice and service friendly but we didn’t realise that a lunch menu wasn’t available for bank holiday Monday so we had to pick off a brunch menu which was ok for breakfast but not for the nice lunch that we had envisaged.
We booked for lunch, no not available only brunch it was Bank Holiday Monday why why lunch only available at the weekend so we left
Great atmosphere, service and food. Table by the window looks out to the sea.
Overal the experience was good. However, we booked after looking at your website which still shows you do a roast dinner on a Sunday. But when we arrived you said you weren’t serving them until next month. So you can imagine at this time it’s not easy to find somewhere else.
You should update your website as it Also comes up with reviews that you do a roast.
Felt the sea bass potion was on the small side
Four pieces of ravioli served as main as vegetarian option
No cheese plate
so all in all, slightly disappointed
Great value with the eat out to help out hut would definitely return for another breakfast treat! Empty plates all round, helpful staff and calm relaxed surroundings.
Reduced brunch menu , wasn’t indicated on the website , would’ve liked the pancakes , place seemed a little shabby compared to the last time I visited .
Lovely atmosphere, observing safety and social distancing, friendly staff, great food and wine. What’s not to like? Definitely recommend Townley’s as a great dining option, just a few steps from the busy Ramsgate Harbour area.
