The food is spectacular. Large portions, great beer options. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant is super loud. Fun for a night out but makes conversation a bit difficult.
The restaurant was extremely loud, food was mediocre at best. Our server was great. Won’t be back anytime soon. Super disappointed
The best BBQ I have ever had! Great drinks and incredible service!
Exceeded our expectations. Staff was excellent and servicelwas quick. My husband and I shared a platter and sampled a bunch of items. For $45 we both are our fill and took home leftover that will be a complete other meal and then some. Great beer and whiskey options. Great spot!
Early dinner with my young kids worked perfectly. Quieter space in the back and Mac and cheese on the menu! Great food!
Made a reservation for two and they sat us in the Bar area, apparently that was what was available. The service was okay, the woman was clearly working alone in the bar section on a busy night. It was very loud which is expected in a bar area but my issue was the other patrons who congregated at the already packed bar. I was constantly getting bumped and elbowed by those standing around our table, at one point someone was leaning against our table while chatting away. Another even stood so close to me at our table it made me super uncomfortable. I made the reservation as a date for my husband and I, we weren’t expecting this kind of night. I would go back to Tradesman but well before 8p.
Great place for a large group. The bbq was very good. Service a bit slow, but pleasant.
Nice place for a quick bite and some drinks.
We stopped for lunch and by 2pm it was a jam packed bar with no ability to get kids into the bathrooms, my toddler was shoved into a group of drunk people. Don’t recommend for families.
Food was amazing, service was good, only complaint and it’s probably a one off was our table it was ridiculously wobbly and spun every time someone touched it, even our server apologized for the table condition. We will 100% go back again.
Great food and drinks!
Service and food was excellent. I would highly recommend
Food and service were both fantastic! Atmosphere was fun and loud.
We had a great time. Our server, Lou, and support servers were great. Thanks for a great night!
Highly disappointed on how our table of 25 was handled (with billing) at the end of a really good experience in this restaurant.
Service and food was great, and then we are handed a check with every food item split into 1/4th and we are expected to figure it out! Several attempts to get this right with both our server and the manager. Well over an hour later... large parties BEWARE!
Great BBQ and bar scene. It was loud but the seating in the back made it less noisy. Good service as well.
The food was great. The bar was busy, but the dining section only had my table and 3 others full. I thought that was odd for a Friday night in center city. We ordered appetizers and our meal at the same time. Our appetizer came out and not 3 minutes later, our food did. We were at a 2 top table and had to put our some of food on the empty table next to us. The food overall was good. We were out of there within an hour, since our food came out SO quickly.
Food was great, but waitress was rude and we couldn’t even hear each other above the noise in the restaurant. We had to push past crowds of drunk people to use the restroom.
Great food and atmosphere.
We were visiting Philly and took a chance on Tradesman's because we love BBQ; it was a great decision. The food was excellent (especially the fried chicken) and the service was fast and friendly. It was loud but this was not surprising for a Saturday during football season.
I was honestly blown away by the food here. If you have overlooked this place thinking it was just another ordinary bar scene you would be completely wrong. We managed to swing through during restaurant week so we got an incredible value. However, the food was so out of this world it would be worth it either way. We tried the ribs, pulled pork, corn bread, greens, pickle pot, And two different desserts. One thing just tasted better than the next until we were so stuffed we had to have the wait staff role us out the door!
The food and service was good but be prepared for loud music. The vibe seemed mostly like a sports bar but the DJ and music didn’t seem to mesh with the sports bar vibe.
Large portions and very loud inside, but good service and quality food.
Great beer selection, delicious food (I had the Beef Brisket-outstanding!). Super service staff. May be a little too lively if you want a quiet conversation, but I loved the vibrant ambience.
The place is very cool, with high ceilings and fun Knick-knacks on the walls. The servers were very friendly. The beer selection was good. The food, unfortunately, was not. My fried chicken was way way overdone and flavorless. The Mac and cheese, while a decent size, was bland. The piece of white bread that comes with it? Why? Two friends had the pulled pork sandwich. One complained that it was dry. The potato skins were interesting. The fries were soggy. So, good concept, good space, good location, and good beer but they need to step up their food game if they are to survive.
Food is decent bar food. Environment is ok, at 8 they started tearing apart the bar seating and set up for more of a club scene.
I stepped out to make a call at 9 and was asked for my Id to get back in. Not at all what I was expecting from this place.
The food is very good! Got the fried chicken, ribs, and beef brisket. The brisket stole the show! The three selection meal was way more than two can eat, but leftovers are great too! Only complaint is that the place is loud, but that is to be expected as the front is a large bar area with big screen TVs and a lively crowd. Definitely worth it though.
Absolutely amazing experience, from the bar to the table side service.
Rushed service. Cold food, that was not addressed. Mac and chez tasted like boxed Kraft mac n' cheese.
No request for refills on drinks. Not impressed at all, very disappointed.
The food was great but unfortunately still a little unorganized overall. Didnt credit our reservations, mains came out the same time as the starters, never came over to see if we wanted another glass (we did!). But again, food tasted great so with some improvement on the service, I would go back.
Food was good, music was good but then they played the soccer game in Spanish almost too loud to be able to enjoy yourself or hear others.... Aside from that it was a good experience
Take a good look at the can and bottle menu. Some real gems in there.
We sat up top for hopefully a quite but it was still loud. Hardest thing was it was dark and you could not see what you were eating. Service was great, some of the food was cold but overall great.
I had hoped it would be cooler... Very pub like atmosphere, tables in front are more fun. Service was pleasant but not well trained. Be aware some things are made to share, we should have had that drilled in when we ordered as a couple of people got dinner for two (whoops). Also for a place that advertises craft beers, the selection was weak. There were out of a local beer and just sent a replacement (which was un-named, server didn't know...), perhaps a warning and a taster might have been nice.
Had a reservation here for dinner with a large group. Wanted to get some drinks and food in a fun atmosphere. When we walked up it was a slam packed club- no tables. Nobody eating. not even space to WALK. Why do u have reservations available when clearly you don’t have them? We had to last minute find somewhere else to eat for a special occasion.
I was not impressed by this restaurant at all. The restaurant was pretty much empty; however, we were seated at the tiniest table in the place. The table was so tiny that our meal and plates did not fit on the table. By looking at the menu, one would think it was a BBQ-type meal, but I was wrong. It was more of just the typical "meat and potatoes" meal. With the name "Tradesman", one thinks "Manly" food, but it wasn't. I do not think I would return to this restaurant.
Way too noisy. The man singing and playing guitar was way too loud. Unfortunately we sat right next to him. Make it impossible to talk to anyone at the table. It was extremely difficult to even order.
Lamb belly and cider flight, delicious!!!!!
This place is very dark with very limited menu. Don't go if you don't eat meat. Some of the staff were very friendly but others were not even trying and why would any manager make those waitreses wear 'daisy dukes'?? I doubt I'd go back.
This was a great place to visit with family from out of town. We were there during a 76ers playoff game, so it was rather noisy. There is barely any light so being your own light to see. There is a small candle at the table but it doesn’t light up as much. Definitely try a local beer or cider.
