This was the second time we've eaten at Novello and was just as good as the first.
We had the delish meatballs appetizer, and my fiance had the chicken parm, which did not disappoint. I had the orchietta, i.e. broccoli rabe and sausage, which was great. And the home made tiramisu, perfecto.
I was disappointed that there were some empty tables, but it was a Wednesday night and I guess people are still not dining out, so if you're going to support a small intimate and charming trattoria, this is it!
Delishes authentic italian. Wonderful singer, Frank, enhanced the whole experience.
Saturday night. Not busy.
Nice wines. Callimari very good.
Pastas al dente but clams very rubbery.
Pre ordered bolognese was delicious but dried when served.
This is a great little place. The chef/owner is excellent. We had an eggplant appetizer that was great. We also had the sea bass, wonderful and the rigatoni bolonaise, great. The wonderful bottle of red wine was great as well.
Nice relaxing place! Missed the music but will come back again!
Food was excellent, service was excellent. Live music and dancing the night we were there. A little loud but I enjoyed it.
We had heard great things about this restaurant and were looking forward to trying it. Right from the start, the service was awkward. Also, we ordered 3 appetizers, including 2 orders of meatballs. Once the other apps were brought to the table, we were told that they were out of meatballs. Three of the six of us ordered branzino. After a bit, we were told they only had 1 order left, so the others switched to salmon. I thought I was the lucky one to get the branzino until I started eating it and found it to be full of bones and difficult to eat. (Although it tasted good, but a little salty.) The owner (who had trouble speaking English) tried to explain that sometimes the fish is deboned by the supplier and sometimes in house. She did offer me something else, but by that point I had had enough. We were surprised that we were not offered dessert on the house, and then were surprised that the branzino was not taken off the bill.
After some digging around, we discovered that the restaurant had been sold on November 1st of last year, which may explain why our experience was so different from those reviews we had read online. It's unfortunate, but not sure that the new owners will be able to sustain the restaurant.
Hi J.,im the lady that has trouble speaking English.I remember your visit i wasnt the drunk one i never sold fake and your friend payed for the branzino that they took at home. You had for us very bad words, we hope to conntinue working hard like the italian people knows to does. In Italy we say: CHI SPUTA IN ALTO, IN TESTA GLI CADE Thank you
I really don’t know what happened at this restaurant this past Saturday. We were there, a party of six, and it wasn’t at all like the place we had been to before. I chose the place because they had such good food and I had out of town company here that I wanted to take here. From the beginning we had a hard time being greeted, served and the food was generally not good! The waitress listed several specials but then said she wasn’t sure any were left, she would have to check. My food was extremely over salted and the people next to me looked like it came from the microwave. One of the others said his was so spicy he could eat it. The ladies room was out of order and my friend opened the door and it was full of stored items, she used the mens. All in all not a good showing for a place I had loved. Has somebody new bought the restaurant from original owners? They will go out of business soon if this continues. I am so bummed!
HI NANCY, thank you for your patronage even if its negative ,cause it gives me possibility to understand what went wrong! the fact of the washroom it was broken and under repairs at the moment due to a leak from the hard rain and there was nothing we could have done over the weekend! landlord responsibilities. We don't have a microwave and if you order a dish with spice in it which it says on menu u could have it removed before and we make small batches so everything is fresh thank you
A gracious host, a great meal , and friendly patrons , what more can you ask from a night out to dinner. If you go here you will not be disappointed. My wife and I were visiting for the New Year and decided to go to Trattoria Novello for some fine Italian dinning , we will be back on our next trip to Pompano Beach.
Christmas Eve dinner
Amazing food and service
Great food and good service really enjoyed the restaurant we will definitely go back
This restaurant is one of my favorites for Italian food. The chef is very knowledgeable and personable and I always have great meals here. You won’t be disappointed!
Everything was delicious. The service was excellent owners were hands on and very friendly.
Very mixed feelings about this restaurant. We were greeted warmly and the service was quite good throughout dinner. After we selected a fairly priced and good sauvignon blanc, bread was brought out. Would have been better warmed up. My starter, a caprese salad, contained lovely tomatoes, average mozzarella but no fresh basil leaves. For dinner I was served linguini pescatore. I had to return it immediately since it was full of sand. I chose instead the swordfish on a bed of perfectly cooked white beans topped with delicious multicolored grape tomatoes. Wonderful dish.
Wanted to try some place different.
Outstanding food and Service.
Grilled Octopus was fantastic,
The food was delicious and the service very good. The chef/owner came out to make sure we enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be back.
We visit Pompano every few years so this restaurant was new for us. I found it on OT and decided to try it based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was outstanding, food was exceptional (recommend the aranchini appetizer), and had a great conversation with the owner Pasquale. I would highly recommend Trattoria Novello.
Excellent addition to the neighborhood dining. Definitely will be back and recommend dining there to our friends.
Elegant with excellent service!
The experience was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. We will definitely go back again.
The food was authentic and well presented. We felt we were back in Rome. Will definitely return.
Food fabulous, service excellent, prices fair... can't ask for anything better!
Our first visit and we liked it very much. Charming service, great ambiance, music at an appropriate level for conversation, and most importantly, excellent food. We will return.
Celebrated birthday at Trattoria Novello. Everything was perfect. Nice atmosphere, quiet enough for conversation, and delicious food at a good value. Highly recommend.
Fabulous find. Food was fresh, well prepared and delicious.
Excellent find! Zucchini flowers were delish, antipasto was excellent!! We were a party of 6, and every meal was completely gone! The owners (chef and host) were wonderful hosts and gracious beyond belief. Was pleasantly surprised at this local find! We certainly be back again soon!!!
I could not of asked for a more exceptional birthday dinner. Patrick and his beautiful wife as well as our server were all so sweet and welcoming. We shared the antipasto which was so yummy. I had the best branzino since my twin sisters wedding 12 years ago. I definitely need to return for that, soon again. My two friends had the veal chop which they said was cooked to perfection, medium rare and the best gnocchi they have ever tasted. I almost had to tell them not to lick the plate, lol. And the icing on the cake, was really the best pistachio ice cream I've ever had. All of this in a cozy, charming authentic little corner Italian restaurant. Thank you Patrick ;) !
We had a wonderful time at Trattoria Novella!
The owners are very nice. Chef Pat and his wife Kim came over to say hello.
The food was awesome. We loved our pasta’s .I always like a good shrimp Fra Diablo.
It is a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
The food and ambiance were excellent. We have experienced many Italian restaurants in South Florida and this is one of the best.
I highly recommend Trattoria Novello as we were treated like family at the restaurant.
Without question, our favourite Italian restaurant in Pompano. Will be definitely be going back.
Very accomodating & conscientious.
Food was very good. The Grilled Octopus appetizer was a major winner. The Yellow Fin was very good. We round the menu a little limited for our tastes. Especially in the protein main courses selections. Very limited deserts. No bar a draw back as well.
Great food, great service, nice quiet atmosphere. Very comfortable place, real Italian food. The owners, Pat and Kim are so welcoming!
This was our second time here and we were not disappointed. Both the food and the service were exceptional. This is a small restaurant - just seven tables, but the menu choices were not lacking and the freshness of ingredients and creativity of preparation will have us coming back soon. Prices are reasonable and the chef welcomes every guest. Charming spot not to be missed.
Great carefully prepared food which was nicely presented and served. While menu itself is limited, these are supplements with daily specials
One of our new favorites.
Run, don't walk, to this hidden gem in Pompano. The food is outstanding, the prices reasonable and the service is excellent!
Excellent. Best in town. Quality, service, the best in Italian food.
